Halo 4 server connection problems being investigated

It has been suggested that the problems may be linked to the release of new Halo 4 DLC on Monday.

 

"There are a few hundred players who have been unable to connect to our servers since yesterday," acknowledged a member of the Halo Waypoint forum team. "We're investigating now and hope to have an update soon."

Another moderator said more recently: "The number of players in the fallback hoppers has dropped, however there are still people experiencing problems accessing the main servers. We'll continue to investigate and push out fixes until these issues are resolved."

An entry on the Halo Waypoint Twitter account also says: "We're actively investigating the server issues. Apologies for the inconvenience."

343 has requested that players experiencing connection problems share their Gamertag and location on the Halo Waypoint forums.

Bungie absolutely had these problems, but just as seldomly as 343 has had them, so you probably just don't remember or never experienced them. Take it from someone who was in college during Halo 3: sometimes 4am on a Tuesday, there was a problem. VERY rarely though.

He obviously wasn't around for the great server crash on Halo 2 launch night. Although, bungie at least had their servers back up within 20-90mins and not days at a time! My level has been reset to SR1, and it says no servers available original maps only. I can't load anything. Had NO problems last night playing, and got kicked this afternoon, and none of my friends can get online either.

Well, it does look like 343 is not directly at fault here. It seems to be a problem with the cloud-style networking platform in use: Azure. This platform seems to be having a world-wide breakdown since a few hours ago, but looks like they are fixing the issue as fast as they can, The complexity of the system means the fixing takes time (looks like a lot of node/cluster micromanagement)... I would be terrified to be the in tech team assigned to this...

I got home around 3 Friday afternoon and found that the servers were not available. I changed over to Gears 3 and had no problem so I knew it wasn't Xbox Live that was the problem.

 

I've not checked today because Why Should I get my hopes up?? My wife and I play together. We both just got Gold again after 2 years of silver on Thursday.

 

If anyone needs 2 more players for Spartan Ops, Borderlands, Gears, anything with a coop.

Can't play halo 4. New York. Bet 343 is on the phone right now with bungie. My theory, we are under attack by the promethean's. First 343 servers, than microsoft's, than the world!

my servers work in park city utah and salt lake city BUT they are SUPER laggy and glitchy. it's so annoying. any ways i shouldn't be complaining. at least i have it working, unlike most of you. my gamer tag is Mando Monkey

This is really ******** me off now, after every game i have to turn the xbox off and back on other wise i lose server & i get deranked to SR1. It is stressing me out so much, i just want to play! I will post this every day until my problem has been resolved.
