Halo 4 Update 2/14/13

In the next update they plan to have the bolt action pistol get weaker and others to!

 

 

 

As detailed by the latest Halo Bulletin, the update "is nearing completion, and it is expected to release within the next two weeks. It addresses some of the concerns we've been hearing from the community," the post continues, "but just to set your expectations accordingly, we know we still have work to do.

"There's more balancing to be done and more issues to address, and we are actively working with the Halo 4 game team to investigate the feasibility of additional fixes."

 

Here's a very partial list of the fixes and changes, plus a Halo-themed Valentine's Day card, which may cause you pain. Speak not to me of pain, readers. Alas, my precious Boltshot. Never shall you and I glory in the sight of somebody evaporating from the neck on down.

- Reduced the range of the Boltshot's damage scaling over distance. The previous effective range for 1-hit kills was 20'-25'. The range has been reduced to 15'.

- Fixed an issue that did not allow players to create respawn timers or disable instant respawn in custom games.

- Fixed issues with friendly fire against vehicles. If FF is disabled, damage / EMPs from friendly sources will no longer damage vehicles that are fully controlled by your team.

 

Next Monday sees the addition of Team Throwdown to Halo 4 matchmaking, billed as "our premiere competitive playlist". The Halo 4 team "have been monitoring community game type settings and feedback over the past few months, and teamed up with competitive community leaders Walshy, StrongSide and Gh057ayame to build this playlist.

"We created an experience that will feature the popular "v2" settings and maps, which have been carefully developed and tweaked for competitive play. The playlist will feature Team Slayer, Capture the Flag, Extraction and King of the Hill at launch." Read the piece in full for specifics as to how each mode has been customised.

343 is also "aware that there is a portion of the competitive community who'd prefer to see game types that utilize the DMR, as well as more of Halo 4's sandbox. As a result, we are working with Walshy, StrongSide and Gh057ayame to develop alternate settings with balanced loadouts that offer varied options for Primary Weapons, Armor Abilities, Tactical Packages and Support Upgrades.

 

"We are still making final tweaks to these settings - they may launch with the playlist on Monday, or may be released in a future update. We'll be sure to announce a final, detailed breakdown of the settings that will be featured in the playlist in the Matchmaking section of the forums, so be on the lookout for that this weekend."

now they need to make the DMR under power because I think with the only sheilds in halo 4 and no health it makes the DMR more powerful and in my opinion the BR should do more damage than the DMR because the BR is 3 round burst and please follow through with this

I think they should maybe up the power on carbine an lightrifle just a touch rather than nerfin dmr!! I think that'll be good for the boltshot though! Even better though is takin ff off vs vehicles sick of spoilt little idiots pullin there faces when u get to a vehicle 1st thankgod thats bein addressed:-D!!

Does this mean that team throwdown will have the competitive ranking system implemented into it as well? If so I'm gonna blow off the dust on my halo 4 and get back into what halo was all about. Flashing those fancy ranks off to everyone and eagerly trying to level up to 50.

The DMR and the BR do the same damage neither should be nerfed also think of it this way the BR can hit even if its not a direct shot due to the burst (1 of the shots from the burst can hit the enemy)

 

well idk because when I have the BR I always get killed when im trying to go up against someone that has the DMR

as long as custom games spawn timers are fixed and that they improve(make it more similar to reach`s) on the lowering guns feature and make it so people can do it over xbox live (in custom games and forge only of course) and 343 would hit 1st place on my top favorite video game producers list.

They should make it possible to play the downloaded spartan ops episodes playable offline. I have a gold membership but I want to play offline local with friends that don't and with where I live they Internet might go out for a few days to a week and I would still like to beable to play spartan ops

343 really needs to make a gametype that has the halo3 type of gameplay in it because I miss where everyone runs around with a BR just lighting people up I just really miss that

The DMR is a long ranged weapon and should not compete with a medium ranged weapon at medium range. Also, the DMR kills faster than the BR.

lol dude, can you count shots? still 5 to the head to kill. Even with no health the DMR still takes 3 body shots to kill with no shield(OMG same number as Reach). BR kills in 4 bursts if ALL bullets hit the head. If its such an issue, use FIREPOWER and play with both. DMR for farther, BR for closer. Oh yeah, and as for the BR doing more damage, BR has smaller callibers and the DMR is gas powered for a stronger single shot...weird right? lol

BR is the newb weapon its entire existence is to allow newbs to hit targets in swat they otherwise wouldn't even aim at.

 

BR needs reduced kick and tighter reticule to become competitive to DMR
