Amazon is set to buy Twitch.tv for $970 million+, reports theVerge.com.
It was rumored that YouTube had already closed a deal with the online gaming live stream juggernaut, however it has recently been reported that it is Amazon, not YouTube (Google), who will be acquiring the online streaming service.
"We chose Amazon because they believe in our community, they share our values and long-term vision, and they want to help us get there faster," Said Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch.tv in a recent statement. He further says that most everything on Twitch.tv is remaining the same, but that with Amazons support they hope to bring you an even greater Twitch.tv for the future.
