A prequel to the recently released Wolfenstein: The New Order, called The Old Blood, has been announced with a surprisingly close release date.
Wolfenstein made a smashing return in 2014 with the release of The New Order, now under Bethesda and Machine Games's careful watch, and the game was critically acclaimed, with a nomination for Shooter of the Year and Best Narrative from the VGAs. This May, as IGN.com reported, we'll be returning to the Nazi occupied world with a prequel standalone titled Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. The add-on will return to the Castle Wolfenstein style gameplay, and one part of the game even takes place there as the old protagonist BJ hunts for the coordinates to Deathshead's compound, which is where the first game started off. Part II of the story follows BJ tracking down and assassinating a Nazi Archaeologist in Wulfburg who threatens releasing an ancient mystical power, Hellboy style. It will be available digitally as a standalone game for about $20 in the US and £14.99 in Europe. The game will not be releasing for the Xbox 360 or PS3 like it's main title did, strangely, so only current gen consoles and PC will get the add-on.

I loved Wolfenstein: The New Order, so this prequel is on my radar, however, I do hope it releases as a disk because it'd be nice to see it next to my original game. What are your thoughts ladies and gents, excited to go back to the dark corners of Castle Wolfenstein? Let me know down below! Thanks for reading.
