This months update adds the highly requested voice message option we've been missing since we upgraded from the Xbox 360.
Once you've downloaded the update you can send and recieve voice messages from both Xbox One and Xbox 360. Recording and sending a voice message is done through the snapped messages app.
Another popular request was to be able to power up your console through the Xbox One Smartglass app. The Smartgalss app has been updated for all platforms (Windows, Windows phone, Android and iOS) and will now let you turn your Xbox One on and off if they're on the same network. Your Xbox One will need to be on Instant-On power mode for this to work.
Next up is user selectable power modes. This update adds the option to either set your Xbox One to Instant-On power mode, which let's you use the voice command "Xbox On" to power up and download updates on the background, or Energy-Saving mode ,which shuts down your console completely in order to save power. This initial set-up feature was, untill now, only available in Europe but will now be available worldwide.
Lastly we have dedicated servers for party chat. Back in March dedicated servers were set up for party chat and were made available for preview program members for testing. Now it's being expanded to everyone owning an Xbox One. These dedicated servers should resolve the problems of some people with different NAT settings not being able to use or join the party chat system. The dedicated servers will be made available to everyone over the course of a few weeks to ensure things go smoothly.
