  1. By separate playlists, I don't mean playlists dedicated to just it. Just maybe a 6v6 team Slayer, no forced color that would fit in the same playlist as mlg, action sack and griffball.
  2. Well if you have played Halo 2 (Which duel wielding was first shown), you'd see that duel needlers was only as strong as one needler from halo 3. It was pretty balanced.
  3. Agreed. Duel wielding was such a success. To think that we should take pointers from Reach would be ridiculous XD Unlike Spartan III's, Spartan II's can handle 2 guns at the same time. It only makes sense! XD
  4. You obviously did not even attempt to read more than the first 2 sentences. If you had, you would have known that I said the only reason it's over powering, is because it's incredibly accurate at long distances, unlike the BR. It can get headshots from across hemorrhage easily. And no, it cannot be outgunned by the Reach assault rifle if used for paced headshots. Hence the reason NO one in reach uses the assault rifle on a normal basis unless they have a negative K/D. Everyone usually switches to pistol if they have an assault rifle, unless ofcourse their plan is to shoot with the assault rifle and end it with a beat down. Inwhich is assisted with a beatdown, not the assault rifle itself. And to correct you on the "range" thing. Sure, every rifle in halo shoots the same range. But unlike the DMR, the BR shoots in 3 bullet bursts, and only 1 bullet hits directly in the middle, the other two go randomly in different directions within the cross hair. And if you haven't realized it yet, that means only 1 bullet, can accurately hit someone from across valhalla, and that 1 bullet, can't even kill with a headshot if someone's shields are down. So yes, the DMR is still much more powerful than the BR.
  5. And now I love you Spectral. I agree with everything you just said. HUZZAH!
  6. So, we started discussing this on a whole different topic, but because it got somewhat off-subject, I decided it is time to make a different thread about it. One thing I noticed, is that the DMR is Over powering. Not because it's bloom, but because it's accuracy. Not only is it great for CQB on reach, but it also takes the role of a sniper rifle. Because of it's strength in long distances, it encourages players to sit at the back of the map and assist players by getting headshots on the wounded from across the map. This is one thing that the BR did not do. The Br served as a good medium to long range weapon. But not sniper rifle range. In Halo 3, the BR was a great weapon for close distances, but could be out-matched by the assault rifle, unlike the assault rifle in Halo Reach. I for one think that if the DMR comes back in halo 4, or a weapon similar to it, it should lose accuracy in very long distances unlike in Halo Reach. There is a noticeable difference to Halo 3's valhalla gameplay and Halo Reach's Hemorrhage gameplay. For one, people in Halo 3 typically run out and get kills, or play around in the warthog and they use a variety of weaponry. Anything from the missile pod to the shotgun. But in Halo Reach, most players camp either in the cave or atop the cliff side. Players in Halo Reach usually do not try to run across the map in fear of being headshot from any distance by the DMR or Sniper Rifle. A sniper rifle, I understand, but the DMR.... Players in Halo 3 had to atleast get to medium to long distance to get headshots with the Battle Rifle. They had to risk getting killed themselves. Giving other players a fair advantage. Now, I do think the DMR should stay how it is when it comes to medium to long range. But as I said before, maybe if it does make it in Halo 4, it should be atleast nerfed to were it loses accuracy at sniper rifle lengths. What do you all think?
  7. True, but it's not like it has to be in matchmaking. If anything, they could atleast have the option to turn off forced color for custom games. But I still do feel strongly about it being in a matchmaking playlist. I mean, if anything, players who do not like it, won't have to play it.
  8. I for one liked Halo 2's OST the most. For me, it was the most emotionally touching music throughout the Halo series. My favorite being the Halo 2 menu suite. *tear drop* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQRPfXhP7kg
  9. I do agree with all that. But for me, the DMR is over powering in the sense of doing more than what it should. I usually get headshots with the DMR from across hemorrhage that the BR couldn't. So in my eyes, that is something that a sniper rifle is made for. I've always like the idea that the BR was meant for medium to long range, but not sniper rifle lengths. It for me, encouraged players to run and get their own kills instead of camping in the back of the map and assisting players by getting headshots on the wounded. I do think Bloom would work better with a DMR and a BR if the DMR wasn't accurate enough to get headshots from across the map and the BR stayed the way it was or was atleast nerfed so that each of the 3 bullets from each BR burst wasn't nearly as strong.
  10. It has but in the same sentence, it hasn't. True, in every halo title, the faster you pull the trigger and less you pace yourself, the more the bullets spread out across your reticule, but because the reticule did not virtually expand, players wouldn't care to pace themselves and would reply more on luck than skill. But it has a good and a bad effect. If you have weapons that are incredibly accurate, like the DMR, the game to me, isn't as fun as playing with the BR, considering people can make really accurate shots across maps unlike the BR. Nice that you brought that up though.
  11. Like in Halo 2. The needler was pretty much a waste unless you use 2 of them. Meaning it's a good weapon if you grab 2 of them, like the smg or the plasma rifles ofcourse.
  12. Halo CE doesn't necessarily count considering that it's for pc because the other halo's are exclusive and it can be played through online multiplayer for free and is very very cheap,. Hence the reason people mod it look and play like other halo titles.
  13. Let's be honest here. Halo 2-3 has lasted so much longer than Halo Reach already, and it might be because the typical halo reach player camps with the dmr getting headshots and spamming grenades. I mean, I can't say Halo 3 was any better about grenades, but players still gave an effort to melee in that game XD
  14. Well I guess everyone has their own favorite style of Halo. I just like it when Halo is more fun and gives more a rush more then myself or others just camping in the corner of the map with a marksman weapon, assisting others with headshots. I for one think if duel wielding came back, it would make weapons like the reach pistol or the dmr less over-powering. I rather like the idea that I can take a risk of dying but having fun at the same time.
  15. Both very true. But, in the same way, it may teach players to be more careful. I cannot explain to you how many times I've been betrayed by accident when I'm only a running riot. And I agree on the armor creativity. I for one think that it would give the game more replay value as it would also make it easier for making machinimas.
  16. And see, that always made me angry. Because people call that "skill" but then when people on call of duty do that, it's called camping. When I think of skill, I think of people who can run and gun like there is no tomorrow and get a killtacular with his cqb weapons before he dies. Look at halo 2-3 multiplayer, it lasted so much longer than Reach, and that might be aswell because there was is no duel wielding in reach.
  17. Okay, for awhile now, I've wanted this ever since before the release of Halo reach. Basically, all I want, is there to be an option in team slayer (for custom games of course) that would allow color to be disabled. Before you make random reasons as to why that's illogical, think of it like this. When you're playing campaign, do you ever mistake jun, kat, or even the arbiter for an enemy? Wanna know why not? Because there is a giant blue arrow on their head, like in team slayer games. Maybe you find this odd, but when it comes to Halo, I think it'd be cool if you can actually use your own personal armor color to your advantage on team games. Lets say you like to use stealth and you're a sniper, then use green armor. Your friends on your team might identify you as the sniper of the team, and may even act better around you, like they may not huddle around you when you are trying to snipe, giving away your position. I know you may find this kinda stupid, because for some reason, people do, but I find it to be very helpful. Maybe a matchmaking playlist would allow such a thing. I mean, what's the point of picking stealthy looking armor if you stick out like a fire in the night? I think it would add much more character quality to matchmaking or even custom games if this option was enabled. "Edit" Some people think that this may cause confusion and players might team kill by accident, but one thing they have to remember is that, if CoD can do it for hard core mode, then I imagine Halo players are smart enough to watch what they shoot, especially if they have big blue arrows on their heads.
  18. I personally think AA's should be left. But Sprint would be a natural function. And I think that Equipment worked alot better. Why? Look how long halo 3 lasted compared to Reach. Anyone's argument against that is invalid. Just saying.
  19. Yea, but then again, there are some op weapons even when they aren't duel wielded, I mean, like weapons people actually think takes skill. Like the DMR for example. Very accurate, so accurate I get head shots across hemorrhage with it, but so stupid that any noob who spams it can kill you with random flying bullets faster than you can kill him or her with precisely aimed shots to the head. Very sad. But I do agree.
  20. Okay, so of course, I believe Halo 4 will have Duel wielding no matter what, but then again, I've also thought about how much 343 has changed John's Mark VI (And it may or may not be his mark vi, but the damage on the front is an indication that it is) and that they might have the nerve to change the core qualities of Halo. I myself, love duel wielding. I used it alot in halo 2 and 3 and I hoped for it to be in reach, but it wasn't, but that's okay. To me, if Halo 4 is influenced by Reach, it won't be a very good game. Not saying it's going to be bad, because who knows, it may be a great game, but look at how much players played halo 3 from 2007 - 2009 then people played halo reach from 2010 to now....I mean, it didn't really last all that long. Anyways, I'm not going to turn this into some giant discussion about reach and halo 3. So what do you think? Should it have duel wielding? If not, why?
  21. I'm glad that you all feel that way about Elites...oh and that comment about players who play as elites usually have the social IQ of a potato, made my day man. I just got 2 teeth removed and stitches and I'm laughing so hard it hurts.
  22. Okay, so we all know people want elite customization in halo 4, and we all know 343 will listen to that. But one thing I actually do want in halo 4, is for players to have the right to play as a spartan or an elite in multiplayer matchmaking like they did in halo 3. Because let's be honest, the elite players got screwed in halo reach. Not being able to play as an elite unless it's a certain matchmaking game type. Ridiculous. I was never an elite fan, and never will be, but I do miss having players play as elites in multiplayer matchmaking with me on my team. Some people say that the reason you can't in halo reach is because the elites and humans haven't sided yet, and my response to that is, when has halo matchmaking ever followed canon? What do you guys think?
