I completely agree with you. I've complained about this very same issue multiple times, asked the support via twitter to answer or elaborate on this. Also I've contacted 343 directly to no avail... The ranking system/matchmaking system is utterly broken if you ask me. I've been trying to get to diamond for over three weeks now. When I matchmake against diamond players or sometimes onyx players this is no issue, I can kill and outplay them without problems. but when you then get matchmade with silver / golds, or people leave the game you get de-ranked very easily. Winning games against higher players only gives you 2% progress. Again... utterly broken and very frustrating!

Don't have this problem at all. Did you perform an analysis of your local network? Preventing packaging loss, high pings, bottlenecks created by a switch or just a slow connection overall could be making a huge difference.

What I'm wondering is this; If there is an option at all to be the gunner yourself and have one of the marines be the driver. Never had any of the marines to drive me around in infinite

The fun part is... If you collect all the skulls and start your quest for the legendary/all skulls achievement, you'll notice that the trash mobs are harder than those legendary bosses. I definitely recommend you to try this mode to challenge yourself even further. Four tips: 1 - Get your hands on the first Spanker in the first level just before the elevator leading to the control room, this weapon is great to clear the control room and the next level with. 2 - In the control room use the grappling hook to stick to the bars on the ceiling, from there use rockets to send the banished to valhalla 3 - Get your hands on an energy sword asap this weapon is THE BEST option you'll have against the boss at the end of lvl 2 and it's probably the best weapon for this mode at all since your only shield recharge depends on melee attacks. 4 - When you've liberated the first FOB, get your hands on the specialized energy sword (High value target). with this sword you'll receive a significant run speed boost Have fun

Alrighty... let me tell you how I have squashed the connection errors on my end. I've noticed that my xbox wasn't connected on Open NAT (network settings)... What you can try is to either - Enable uPnP on your router/modem. This often can be found in the "port forwarding" section of your router/modem. The setting ensures your NAT will become open and will therefore connect with everyone instead of those players with their NAT setting put on moderate. - Manually port forward the required ports for halo infinite and xbox live on your router/modem ( this is the safest option but requires some technical skill)

What I understand is that there is an issue with the quick resume option on Xbox. I've got no such problems myself because I always quit the quick resume session manually and reboot the game from start. A fix for this should be inbound somewhere next month or so I've read

It's true that the sword one hit you yes, but that's totally fine because the sword has a high risk high reward playing style. In addition, the sword has only what 4 or 5 hits anyway. In those sword-maps your best bet is to stick with the team whenever your team doesn't have the sword and try to defend or to get the kill trade. As far as outsmarting goes, this is the 10 point shortlist I'm using for defense. Some even can be combined for peak performance - A sword carrier has to come to you it's not the other way around - Most sword players hide in obvious spots, avoid those or preemptively grenade them - Use the 'Mangler' for a 1 shot & 1 melee hit or 3 Headshot kill trade (this is in my opinion by far the best sword counter weapon). - Use cover to your advantage, as an example, learn the clamber drop clamber when and where it's possible - Stick to high ground, sword lunges can't be performed from below without hitting the wall like 95% of the time - Learn and use curb slides to outrun a pursuing sword carrier - Learn where and which jumps you can perform to decrease travel time and flank/lose the carrier - Make use of ledged above to bounce grenades back behind you - Use the grappling hook as intended in other words, steal the sword away from them - Tactically time a repulsor strike Most importantly: Learn how to patience yourself and not be tempted to go after the sword carrier yourself... alone!

In my opinion the shotgun was also overpowered, could one shot on every hit, not only the sword carrier. As for the counter the sword, either: - Use the grappling hook to steal the sword directly from their hands - Get a sticky on the carrier - Use the repulsor tactically - Just basically outsmart the carrier, don't rush into them and avoid the tight hallways Most sword carriers use the same tactics, they'll hide in obvious corners or try to lure you. Whenever someone drops one shot at you and runs away you'll have to consider this as a lure tactic.

Yesterday I've been playing ranked games a bit and I've noticed the following: Whenever any of your team players drop out of the match, be it at the start, mid or at the end of the match, no replacement will be found and the match will not be postponed. In one of the matches I've played yesterday this resulted in a 4 vs 3 from the beginning and the point outcome was 250 vs 31 with a lot of our team players being overrun constantly. This is pretty lame and should be fixed. (edit: typo's, title)
