  10. Kotaku are reporting that filming of the new Halo live action series in underway at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver. The university denies the project is Halo related as they are presumably bound by NDAs and secrecy agreements, their official line is: The film is called Sleeper, the story of a young man in a futuristic military academy who struggles with his destiny as a soldier-and with an alien invasion. Sounds familiar, but these shots do sort of break their cover: Thanks to Kotaku.

  15. Deep inside the hallowed halls of Minnesota Public Radio, Emily Reese is studying game soundtracks. Outside of her full-time position at the radio station, she fights to find the time to host the Top Score podcast. Since April of 2011, Emily Reese has interviewed the composers behind Red Dead Redemption, Halo, Assassin's Creed, and many other triple-A games that you know and love. These aren't light interviews about features in the games. Emily dives deep into the musical theory, stories behind the soundtracks, and plays examples of the composer's work. Alongside her technical director Sam Keenan, Emily Reese crafts a tightly edited show that aims to give the composers behind the world's biggest games the recognition and attention they deserve. Watch the video below to get an inside glimpse at how she creates the show and why she feels so passionate about spreading the word about game music to the larger classical music scene.
  16. 343 Industries Franchise Development Director, Frank O'Connor (also known as Stinkles) dropped this juicy little nugget on NeoGaf a short while ago: Source Fantastic news! One of the major complaints about Reach was the lack of maps supporting vehicles which in most instances effectively removed them from the combat sandbox. It's very reassuring to know that 343i are looking to address this issue in Halo 4.

  18. Microsoft announced a Halo 4 live action series titled Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn today. UPDATE: In typical Frankie style he popped up on NeoGaf to answer some questions about Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. Source Source Source Source ORIGINAL STORY: Microsoft have just announced a new live action mini-series will air this autumn in the run-up to the release of Halo 4. The series, titled Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn will be shown on Halo Waypoint and Machinima.com. Apparently this represents the largest investment Microsoft have yet made in a Halo live action project. Although it's not clear exactly how much they directly invested in the Halo Landfall series which was handled by Universal and Fox. Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn will chronicle the story of a cadet who is inspired by the exploits of the Master Chief and eventually goes on to become a leader aboard the UNSC infinity. The series will be made up of five episodes, each clocking in at 15 minutes so it's knocking on for feature length. Frank O'Connor described the web series as a "way for people to get onboard this universe without feeling intimidated". It's "an origins story that teaches you about a lot of different facets of the ('Halo') universe". Details of cast and director are as yet unknown, but Microsoft promise to give more details at ComicCon in July. This sounds absolutely brilliant, if it's a success we may see much more of Halo on both the big and small screens. Information from --> http://www.littleeng...-to-launch.html
