Did anyone else run into problems during the beta with Random Betrayals? I went into a few games where as soon as the game started, someone on my team just randomly started killing everyone on my team making us all go negative. First he would betray someone, then the person who was killed would retaliate and kill him back, then they got killed first gets booted but not the person who started it. These guys continued to kill us all until it was just them and me and then they killed me and I never got the option to kick/boot them. One game, he killed me four times and not once did it give me an option to boot. Then I decided enough was enough and killed him back and I was instantly booted even though it was the first time I had ever betrayed anyone during the beta. How does that make any sense? I think there should be some sort of tracking system that makes you de-rank severely and suspended from playing another game for at least 5 minutes and continue to increase the more you do it. Anyone else have a similar experience, or have any opinion on how betrayals should be handled?

Is this sarcasm or just trolling? Halo 1 didn't have a ranking system, it was not available on Xbox Live. I used to play it on XBConnect, but still no ranking system.

I think that the halo 2 ranking system was the best. If you won a match, you and your team all gain exp, but if you come in 1st, you get more exp than coming in 2nd, and 2nd gets more than 3rd and 3rd more than 4th etc. When you are on the losing team, if you come in 8th you lose more exp than the person in 7th, and the person in 6th and 5th. The only thing I think should be changed is that your stats should come into play in addition to whether you are on the losing or winning team. For example, If your team loses and you come in 5th place with: 20 kills, 10 assists and 10 deaths, but the person in 4th place on the winning team had: 12 kills, 10, assists and 12 deaths, then and only then do you (being in 5th place) get just as much exp as the person who came in 4th on the winning team. I think the same should occur with coming in 6th 7th and 8th. If you are on the losing team and do worse than the person in 4th on the winning team, then you go down, and the worse you do, the more you go down, it's as simple as that. Most likely if you are on the losing team, your individual stats will not surpass anyone on the winning team, but if they do, you should not be penalized as much. But being on the losing team, no matter how well your stats are, you will not gain any exp more than the person in 4th on the winning team. This would create the incentive to win and have the best stats, instead of one or the other. When games come down to the wire and end 50-49, the losing team shouldn't be penalized that much. When games end 50- 31 or so, it is highly unlikely that anyone other than the person in 5th did well on the losing team. What do you all think?

The only issue with the ranking system from the beta that I have is with the inital rank after the first 10 games. In slayer I won 9 out of 10 games and got ranked gold 2. In the campfest gametype I won 9 out of 10 games again and got ranked silver 2... I had friends play slayer and win 6 out of 10 and get onyx 2, another friend played and won 7 out of 10 and got semi-pro? When we looked at the stats, I had better stats and win ratio vs. each of them individually, how does that make any sense? Me winning 9/10 averaging 20kills, 7 assists, and 10 deaths = Gold 2 vs. winning 6/10 averaging 15 kills, 5, assists, 10 deaths = Onyx 2 or winning 7/10 averaging 17 kills, 3 assists, 11 deaths = Semi-Pro? Can someone please explain the logistics behind the initial rank after just 10 games?

I have one question, whatever happened to the option to party up with teammates from the last game? There should be an option that you check off if you want to party up with the teammates that were on your team last game, you should not be able to party up with opponents. Sometimes after some games where my teammates and I spanked the other team, I stayed in the party hoping to team up with them, but only one stayed and then two from the opposite team stayed and we were thrown into a party together, and those two continued to be terrible. I think there should be an option to party up with only former teammates after a game. Anyone else agree?

I have played every single halo game since 2001 except for Halo wars because it wasn't a shooter and I think every single game has been good. The only people who complain about any of the halo games just complain because they cannot adapt to new changes. People complained that Halo P.C. was better than Halo C.E. for the xbox, because console games can't compete with PC games, plus there were more maps and options for P.C. Also because it wasn't available for Xbox live so you could not play it competitively. People complained about Halo 2 when it came out because they got rid of the three shot pistol for a BR and the campaign wasn't as good. (Br was very easy to adapt to.) Then eventually people said Halo 2 wasn't as bad as they originally thought. Same story with Halo 2 Vista, although I personally think console Halo 2 is better. Halo 3 comes out, everyone said it sucked compared to Halo 2 and C.E. because the br had spread now, and the ranking system to getting to a 50 was too easy. People started selling their accounts for money. (Which is why Reach and Halo 4 came with no ranking system, to prevent boosting and selling of accounts.) Halo 3 ODST, people complained about how you did not play as Master Cheif and it doesn't count as a Halo game because of that factor alone. Oh, and no online multiplayer. Halo Reach people complained about because of the introduction to Armor Abilites, new ranking system (Arena instead of 1-50) and no BR. (Dmr was fine in my opinion if you knew how to use it.) Halo Anniversary comes out, people complain that it doesn't have online multiplayer, so it is a waste of money. (Online multiplayer would have split halo reach with it, bad idea.) Halo 4 comes out, people say it is basically Halo Reach 2.0, only closer to Call of Duty, so it is no good. People complain about how the DMR is more powerful than the BR and how they kept armor abilities and no ranking system. (At least they brought the BR back.) Every Single game has been good, but no matter what, someone is going to complain about something because people don't like and also refuse to accept change. I am positive that once Halo 5 and other games come out, people will complain. If you honestly think you can do a better job, why don't you go apply for a job at 343 industries and try to convince them that you can be their saving grace. You will fail. (End Rant.)

They made it easier for kids who normally could not get multikills, have a chance, especially with the Dexterity tactical package. Faster reload means easier multikills. I honestly think they should change it back to normal, the 4 seconds was fine.

Being thrown into matchmaking games when they are 1 minute or 30 seconds from being over, and it being counted as a loss on your record? I join oddball/king of the hill/flag games in which are about to be over and there is nothing you can do about it other than take the loss or quit... The join in game progress system needs to be fixed/altered. You should not be able to join a game when it is 100 to 0 of ball/hill time, or 4 to 0 flag score and the opposing team is about to score the 5th flag. You should not be thrown into a game before the game starts as a 3 v 5 and then have no one join in for the entire game, making it so that it is a 3 v 5 for the entire duration of the game. Other than that, there should be no xp cap/limit. They also need to add more maps to matchmaking. All I ever see played are the same 4 maps, and Haven is pretty much the only good map. At least throw Impact or some other forge maps in there.

I have 5 different Loadouts: Loadout 1: Extra XP: DMR, Magnum, Frag, Camo, Fast Track (Pioneer), Stability (Rogue) - For When I am playing War games and am not XP capped. Loadout 2: Xp Capped: DMR, Magnum, Frag, Camo, Mobility, Dexterity - For War games after getting XP capped on the day. Loadout 3: Big Team, Extra XP: DMR, Plasma Pistol, Camo, Fast Track, Ammo - For BTB War Games, not XP capped. Loadout 4: Big Team XP Capped: DMR, Light Rifle, Frag, Camo, Firepower, Ammo - For BTB after getting XP capped on the day. Loadout 5: Spartan Ops: DMR, Magnum, Pulse Grenade, Auto Sentry, Fast Track, Ammo - For Spartan Ops, so I can get Xp capped for the day.

I think "they" (most likely Halsy) will make a new cortana for John for the upcoming games, because she (Cortana) said something in the campaign about how even if they tried to fix her or re-create her , it wouldn't be her, it would be a different version of her. That just means they could replace her if John really wants to. Then again they might not because he would not want to build another relationship with a different version of Cortana. I dunno, I guess we will have to wait and see. P.S. did anyone else see the original Legendary ending of Halo 4, the epilogue video prelaunch? At least when I beat it on legendary, it didn't show on my video. I dunno why. Anyway, they show Master Chief's Face, from above the nose to about halfway up the forehead (Wrinkles below his eyes, Dark eyes, can't tell if they are brown/blue/green, and I think brown/black hair because his eyebrows were dark, not white hair)... So as of now all we know is that he is a Caucasian older looking man, looks middle aged. They (343i) for some reason took out that last scene from the game after Launch. The part where Chief is getting his helmet removed, they go straight to black screen instead of showing his face. I wonder why they did that? Anyone else know what I'm talkin about? Found it on youtube:

Anyone seen this page yet? I think it may be a new code, but has not been figured out yet. http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/universe/detail/c6762b50-5f8f-44a4-904f-5d422daad966

I've gotten to the point where if you can't beat them join em. I have been thrown into games where 1 person quits and 2 people are not playing so I end up either not playing until someone else starts playing (set my controller down) or I quit and let them play for themselves, because there is no way in hell I am gonna go through the mission myself and have them get exp. There are ways around having people not playing. If you quit in this game, you do not get penalized yet, so all you have to do is quit when you get people who are not moving the whole game and then they will end up having to play or else the mission will never end. As for exp, I do not think they should lower it, what they should do it make regular matchmaking equal, because it makes no sense how spartan ops give you more exp than infinity slayer games/objective games. Also, I set my controller down for a whole game a couple of times and you get no exp at the end, so I think they have a system in place where your xbox goes idle and the game ends you get no exp. They just need to tweak some things.

Your gamertag does not exist... I looked for it on halo.xbox.com...

It would be nice if it was made correctly, but seems too difficult. Old 1v1 playlists were too easy to cheat in. A couple of my friends in halo 2 and in halo 3 would buy multiple xbox live accounts (waste of money) and then play against themselves by switching their xbox's languages to languages that are not usually used and then preferring language when searching just to get high ranks. It promotes more boosting then any other playlist, so I do not think it would be any different in this game. Also, if there aren't going to be any ranked numbers on playlists wouldn't that make a 1v1 playlist pointless? I don't think a 1v1 social game would be too popular.

I mentioned something similar in another topic but, The whole ranking up to 50 thing (to me at least) seems like it is not based off of skill or anything... I remember seeing a video that someone (I believe it was Frank O'Connor) said that the number (Rank) will be invisible to other players, but you can see it. If that is the case, I believe everyone gets to 50 eventually depending on how much they play, just like getting symbols (Inheritor) in reach depeding on your overall e.x.p. To me that seems like everyone who was expecting for the old 1-50 ranking system like in halo 2 and halo 3 are going to be let down. I think that if the ranking system is set up like this, it will most likely not be too difficult to get to 50, pick a specialization, get to the next 10 and then start all over for another specialization. I don't play C.O.D. but my brother does because he hated Reach, but to me this sounds very similar to prestiging in C.O.D. only you get to keep everything you unlocked from the previous 1-50/60. I also think that what someone else said may be true, it seems that you will be able to unlock armor/skins/weapons without it interfering with your rank, just like you could in reach. I think you get to a certain amount of total e.x.p. and you unlock things.
