  1. I love Paradiso, it's one of my favourite maps to snipe on. That being said, it's horrendously unbalanced.
  2. Not at close range, which is what the Magnum is meant for. Even with bloom it ****s on the DMR in a close quarters encounter.
  3. Nothing wrong with that. Every Halo game has had a dominant precision weapon. Kill times for 5 shots wouldn't be drastically reduced, and the NR/Magnum would still be able to combat the DMR at their respective ranges.
  4. Not the forum avatar you'll see beside this post, but the profile photo. Mine is currently a green spartan, and every time I try to change it, I click save changes and the next page fails to load, instead showing a completely white page. When I re-enter the website, my picture is still the same. The image I'm trying to upload fits the pixel and KB restraints. Advice or suggestions?
  5. I disagree. Bloom affects core gameplay. True Skill in Halo 3 affected a number beside your name.
  6. I understand where you're coming from now, and yes, that is a flaw.
  7. I'm not quite sure I understand, but I'd love to continue this discussion whenever you can get on a computer.
  8. I know absolutely nothing about the process of removing bloom but I'd like to think that if it involved resetting stats (which seems unlikely) that it would not be done. The community outcry would be far too large.
  9. The True Skill system is not nearly as flawed as people say. People believe that they are all entitled to a 50; this is not the case. Only the best became 50s, and those who were rank locked in the 30s were stuck there for a reason: because that's their True Skill. Saying you should keep bloom in the game- even though it's flawed- because there are other flawed aspects in the game as well is ridiculous. Two wrongs doesn't make a right.
  10. Bloom does not work on a fundamental level. It rewards spamming when it was intended to punish just that. Read this thread from Bungie for proof. There's another one that I'm going to continue to look for that's a simpler to read. Skip to the third post on page one, unless you really like math.
  11. Some of the community maps in Team Slayer, such as Rebirth and Synapse, could certainly be placed into Rumble Pit. It also seems weird that playlist specific maps were never considered/implemented. In short, yes, I agree, Rumble Pit could certainly benefit from community maps, provided they're good maps.
  12. I personally enjoy the grenades of Halo 3. They weren't good for killing a fully shielded enemy, but they were perfect for BR/Nade combos. If you heard a grenade coming, you should still escape completely unscathed, unlike in Reach. Also, the physics allowed 'nade bounces off the ground or wall in tight situations, which could quickly give the more talented or resourceful player the upper hand in battle. The grenades in Reach, to me, failed not because of their radius or strength, but because of the decreased jump height and movement speed. It's simply too easy to chuck random 'nades and deal severe damage or pick up easy kills, and far too difficult to consistently dodge grenades without taking damage, regardless of skill level (note that I'm talking about without AA use). Furthermore, they don't seem to bounce off of most surfaces as they should. Frags are clunky to bounce, are thrown as though they're shot out of a gun, and stick to grass, wood, and other textures far too easily.
  13. True skill is present in Reach, it's just invisible. And since you mentioned it, I enjoyed the slightly higher jump height from H3. It added depth to gameplay and made for exciting plays (ninjas, trick jumps, etc.) that, IMO, increased the skill gap.
  14. First, why the hatred? There's no need for childish insults. Second, are you saying that when you used the BR you didn't pull the trigger as fast as you could because you deemed it cheap or something? Of course not, you got your shots in as fast as possible. You cannot "spam" a weapon with a fixed firing rate and no bloom; it's impossible. Punctuation is a nice tool to utilize when you write. Saying "adapt" doesn't mean anything. You can see from my sig that I've obviously adapted; I kill more than I die. However, this still doesn't change the fact that bloom is flawed. Spamming is rewarded far too often. Look at upper level gameplay (MLG, Arena, or just well known players in a random matchmaking game). The best in the game rarely, if ever, pace their shots. Why? Because spamming is more efficient. This in its own right proves that bloom is broken, as it's meant to punish firing shots too fast, but in fact rewards it.
  15. Bloom is flawed. It's been proven numerous times and I'm hopeful that 343i will in fact be fixing this in the title update.
  16. Daily and weekly challenges need to offer larger cR rewards. Currently, the average daily challenge offers 1/3 of the cR I earn from a normal game. However, when I was a Warrant Officer, the average daily challenge was worth more than double my cR earnings from one game. In order to keep challenges desirable and worth attaining, let alone relevant at all, they require a boost. The ideal system would be scaled. For example, while a Captain would get 1100 cR for completing a challenge, a Noble would get 8000 cR. However, based on the amount of cR earned per game and the amount required to level up, both earn the same percent. I've got no idea if a system along these lines is feasible, but if it is, I feel it's worth consideration.
