the 360 was backwards compatibal with most of the original xbox games. so i would imagine that the 720 will be too, so you should not have to replace your games and the servers will probably be on for a while provided that the playlists for "fill in the blank with a game" have a resonable population. that being said i was playing halo wars yesterday and every play list said low population which is never a good sign when talking about the longevity of the servers.

there was an interview just after halo 4 was released, where Frank O'coner was asked this vary question. his response was extreamly vauge. he said that it was a possibility, but it probably would not be in the near future. I liked the first game a lot. got general in on three different accounts. and i am sad to see that the population for most play lists is now almost none existant. but it has had a good run even if they do shut down the servers. at anyrate i would love to see halo wars 2 but it will most likly be a long time before we see it...if we ever do.

yes it dose seem that bungie and 343 have been heavily influenced by mythology, but when you look at it what stories are not? look at starwars, it is based on earthly ideas and myths. examply moncalimari the speciese that admrial ackbar is. Mon is either japanies or chinese for man, and calimari is fish. so it translates to manfish.

The Unofficial Halo Q&A

this is speculation, it has not been confirmed or denied. i belive he has only been in ODST. -
when you quoted me there i was quoteing someone else, go back and read the post again and you will see that those are someone elses comments that i too retorted to. i never said that odst or wars was better thatn 4 that was someone else. but i do like all of the halo games including those two.

i have rad the book, and eventhough it was a while ago. i belive that the only books that the arbitor was mentioned in were, the flood, and one of the short stroies in one of the evolutions books. so mostly in the flood. i don't recall the details all that well because it was 4 or more years ago when i read it, but i don't remember them stating the last time the armor was used or when the last arbior was alive. only that it was a rank/title of dishonor like felon. at anyrate i just checked the halo wiki page and it dose not say anything about a discrepincy, not saying it did happen. but when compaired with the major discrepincies in reach that would be a small flaw.

Spartan II Headcount (possible spoiler)
ItsMrDeath2You replied to lupsided's topic in Member Created Work
yes he dose want a list, no halo wiki dose not have a spartan roster. i checked before i made the post and double checked after reading your post. it dose mention a few of them for example all of the ones from Halo Legends, but it dose not list most of them. the only way to find spartans names on wiki is if you click on a halo story it will tell the names of some of the main characters in that story. I will finish the list when i get the rest of my books back from my friend. -
i thought that the moderaters for this site were in fact 343i employees. are they not?, because it sure seemed like they took a lot of options and opinions that were made on this site and emplimented them in reach. as far as th OP, goes the only good point he made is that wepons do dissaper far too quickly! i would appreciate if 343 changes that one aspect of the game.

The reason 343 has stated that halo is no longer on pc is because it is a lot harder to mod or hack a xbox game. ac according to a recent interview with frank o'connel they are not opposed to making a halo wars 2, as it was a huge success and is still the most played rts game on consols. so your wrong about it "bombed, it was a really popular game in reality". it sold nearly double the units that the thought it would. also you play from the arbitors point of view, fighting the heritics in halo2 so having a covenant campagin is not so far fetched. it would just allow you to experience the story from a different point of view. it dose not nessicarily mean the humans would be helping the conevant. same story to different view points. so your wrong on both accounts. I agree that rushing is bad. here is why 1. when you rush if you succced then that game will probably be over by the 8 min mark.so you likly to get 500 points instead of the 3000 points you should get from the average game. 2. rushing takes next to no skill! how hard is it to build a leader, or a bunch of worthogs. no skill! 3. to defend aginst a leader rush all you need is flame throwers. when they fail the rush they are set usualy set back. and become a weak link in the team. over all i think rushing is for the no skill pu**ys that are to afriad to have a real game! I have the ability to rush and defend aginst rushes but generaly don't waste the time playing against the bad kid that do rush. it is a complete waste of my time! i think that it is great that you can quit without getting penalized. how often have you been put in a match where you are a general and one of your team mates is a recruit and the other is sargent vs three generals. the game dose not match you up based on skill level but on player availability. i would rather not waiste my time with a game i am garenteed to lose because my team mates are to new or to dumb to know how to play well. what rewards system, do you mean the points system for ranking up. i think that they did a great job with the game just a few minor glitches but nothing game breaking.
-
thank you, you are right. i put in the halo wars game and looked at the time line after i posted that comment. which means that the arbitors armor had been unused for 20 years not 100.
-
your fifth question is an opinion. there is already a topic that asks people to give their opinion of halo 4, i suggest you read it and then add your own response.

Before Halo 4 came out i was nervous thinking that 343i would ruin it. now after having the game for a while i will say that i was plesantly supprised. first the reasons i was nervous: 1.Kiki Wolfkill seeing her name made me nervious because she worked on the fable games. now i know that you can not put the success or failure of a game on one member of the staff that created it, and i don't know what position she held with lionshead. but Fable 1 on pc was an awsome game, Fable 2 was good, and Fable 3 was a turd covered in good graphics!i refuse to spend another penny on anything fable! 2.Seeing the Knights in the ads before the game came out 343i had stated that the knights were forrrunner and not precursor, i had thought that was a bad choise because the precuresors still have not been discribed in any halo media as far as i know. Greg Bear Did describe the forrunners in detail, and to me the image of the knights seemed to be a contradition to what the disciption of the forrunners. 3. I had heard that Power Wepons would no longer spawn at the same place at set times.instead they would be randomized. 4.i was told that there would be no more spawn times. it sounded like people would be able to respawn instantly and finish any kill that they could not get in the previous life.which would ruin part of the game balance. and after all thats a big part of what makes games great is balance! 5.with loadouts it seemed like they were trying to copy Call Of Duty there were someother reasons that i can't reacall anymore so lets move on to why i ended up really liking it: 1.The Story I have read most but not all of the halo books. This story fits in and adds to the fiction from the novels vary well! they did an excellent job with the story! 2.the instant respawn is not so instant and dose not mess with balance too much. 3.the graphics are awsome! 4.Sparant ops is pretty sweet! but i do miss firefight!, reach's firefight was ok but ODST's firefight was way better and far more challenging! 5.war games war games dose have a few minor issues that annoy me but over all it is asmuch fun as all of the other halo games. I am a huge halo fan, and this is a great addition to the halo universe! Right now I think that HaloReach was the worst halo game , and seeing as how i am an inheritor i obviously like it well enough.

it took me a year and a half, but in that year and a half there was a 6 month period where i did not play the game at all. so basically it took me a year. during that year i played 3-5 hours a day, reaching the max credit limit most days.on a side note i had a full time job and a part time job, while doing that, i pretty much worked came home slept ate then played halo till i had to go to work again. i worked so much because i was trying to save for college without taking out a loan. did not leave much room for a socal life, outside of my band practice.

the arbitor is a title/ranks, like general or mayor! before the sangheili were practicaly enslaved by the profits the title of arbitor was on of honor/ and after the covenant started the profits turned it into the title in to one of disgrace. thats why the arbitor from halo2 got the armor for his failure to protect the halo. i don't remember the timeline but it had been a really long time since the last arbitor. on a side note the arbitor from halo war was killed, so was halo wars before halo 2?, and if not were there two arbitors at the same time? im am a bit confused to the time line thanks!
-
by the way, where did you read their origin story. i have not and would be interested. thanks!
-
as far as the precursors creating the flood. that is still unkown! in Greg Bears novel Cryptum the forrunners find a gravemind trapped in a stasis buble. the grave mind then convinces the forrunners that it is a precursor, but it lied! as of this point the precurors demise/dissaperence is still a mystery. the flood origin are also a mystery. no forrunner has ever seen a precursor, their for precursos didn't make the flood to kill the forrunners. im not saying that precursos didn't make the flood or have contact with it, but that is unknow! to say that the ark was built to protect the forrunners is neither right nor wrong. the arks purpose was to build and maintain halo arrays. the halos protected the forrunners. it is kind of a lose compairison. also while the arks did have samples of life, most of the life was actually on the halo's.

I think that the question of the didacts death is a good one. when the didacts fell he was injured but not dead, so the question becomes did the fall kill him. i think not because he fell in to the same lava looking substance the he first came out of when cheif first met him. remember he came out of that floating ball of what looked like lave, probably the same substance. so if he could come out a ball made of that stuff, would landing in it kill him? i say probably not.

The Unofficial Halo Q&A
ItsMrDeath2You replied to Glory of a Far Dawn's topic in Member Created Work
the forrunners found a gravemind that was trapped by the precusors in a stasis bubble, and the gravmind talked to the forrunners saying that it was a precurseor, it was not it was just lying. therefor it is unknow wheather the precurseors made the flood, or if it had evolved independently and the precursors simply encountered it. George was the only spartan II from noble team the rest were all spartan III!, if you remember the cut scene with halsey George is the only on the greets her as mom, the rest all say mamm out of curtisy, because george is the only one that had any idea who she was. to the rest of them she was just some scientist. I don't ever recall see that their skin was blue? im pretty sure that forrunners are described as being a tall humanoid with pink/purple skin and seven fingures on each hand. Prometheans are forrunners, and while they are physicaly different from the builders it would be incorrect to call them a different bree. forrunners evolve into two different adult forms, eaither the builders, or the worriors. it would be more like social classes. the forrunners wanted peace for all the races so naturally their worrior were fround upon because worrior are not generealy peaceful. at the same time they needed the worriors for self defence and to police the other races. -
The Flood is far from defeated
ItsMrDeath2You replied to HTMLrulesBRO's topic in Member Created Work
just a side note, prometheans are forrunners! the forrunners had social classes like we have upper, midle, and lower class citizens. the prometheans are the forrunners worrior sect, which was equivlent to our lower class because the forrunners wanted to preserve the peace in the galaxy thus they worroir were only needed for police work. their upper class was the builders, because they wanted other races to recognize their architectual prowess. In the books by Greg Bear, Cryptum and Primordium it was stated that the flood crashed in to the main human planet as infection spores on a commet. the humans found the spores and not knowing what they were started feeding the spores to their pets. so one can summize from that, that the flood came from an unknown regon of space, also it was stated that there wree more then one gravemind! in Primordiom there are at least three different graveminds. In the short story cortana from one of the halo evolution books it is stated that while cortana is traped with the gravemind that the gravemind steals all the knowledge of all of its victums even AIs, and that the particular gravemind that cortana was fighting being absorbed by had conquered many ancient civilization. from all of this info one can safly assume that while they did defeat one gravemind in halo3 that there were many others in the unknown universe and that the humans had only destroyed a small part of the overall infection. also a little further up some one commented that they beleive that the other rings were infected with flood. according to the books only two of the halos had flood on them, one of which had three graveminds, the other 343 sparks instalation had the flood quarantined for study. then in the terminals from anniversary 343 spark started to go mad after so many years by himself and let the study specimens free. he still had them quarinteend but instead of being stuck in test tubes they were simply locked in a couple of bigger rooms, until the elites let them out. so only two of the twelve rings should have flood on them if you fallow the books. on a side note, i thought i had read that there were origanly seven rings, then on a different post i saw that someone else read that there were twelve rings and two arks, and that comment was confirmed by one of the sites moderators. so i have to reread somof the book to make sure i have some of the finer details right. but over all i am confident that the flood has not been wholy defeted, just slowed down. -
Whats Your Favorite Halo Map of All-Time?
ItsMrDeath2You replied to Kodman Eats's topic in Member Created Work
hands down Lock Out from halo 2! lock out had the best multiplayer design. there were so many different ways to navagate it, the decrotive lines on the wall served as perfect reference points form granade lobbs. i could hit anyone from anywhere on that map with a grenade, i just had to know where they were. which was not hard because i was normaly screen watching while playing split screen. i could get from point a to point b on that map in at least 3 different ways, so you would never know which dirrection i was coming from. i just had to know where you were then you died! lolol best map ever. elongation, zanzabar, valhala, construct, the pit, and gardian, were also all very well made maps! the halo 4 maps lack balance, and seem to be desigend for astetics rether than playability. most of the halo 4 maps are garbage. -
if you read the above statment again carefully, he said that halo legeneds is not canon. not that evolutions is not canon. he said that books are canon and evolutions is a book so....

Spartan II Headcount (possible spoiler)
ItsMrDeath2You replied to lupsided's topic in Member Created Work
I just spent an hour skimming some of my books and halo games, this is what i have come up with so far. i am sure it is incomplete because about half of my books are loaned out to friends, also i did'nt feel like skimming every short story in the evolutions books.but heres the list: 1.Naomi Sentzke spartan 010 referenced from Halo Glasslands and Thursday war 2.Serin Osman spartan 019 referenced from Halo Glasslands and Thursday war 3.Linda spartan 034 referenced from Ghosts of Onyx 4.Douglas spartan 042 referenced from Ghosts of Onyx 5.Kurt Ambrose spartan 051 referenced from Ghost of Onyx 6.Soloman spartan 069 referenced from Halo Legends 7.Arthur spartan 079 referenced from Halo Legends 8.Kelly spartan 087 referenced from Ghost of Onyx Halo Legends 9.Jerome spartan 092 refenced from Halo Wars 10.Fred spartan 104 referenced from Halo Legend, Ghost Of Onyx 11.John spartan 117 common knowledge 12.Alice spartan 130 referenced from Halo Wars 13.Cal spartan 141 referenced from Halo Legends -
i think that you ment to say that they have not been seen recently, they did make one apperence in reach on the level the package i belive. so technical the only games they are not in is halo 1, halo wars, and halo 4. could this problem not be solved by saying that they has a stronger muscles than earth insects? monkeys are roughly ten times stronger than a human that has the same musle mass. simply because their genetics are different.
