That's a beautiful and heartwarming story, reminding me much of my own past -- which I won't bother to get into at this point to spare you the wall of text -- and it makes me wish that we could really do something for them. Now, since I can be banned for bluntly replying with "we are a community site not actually overseen by 343 Industries," I could probably help you out by providing a link to their main site ( https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us); and to their forum ( https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/forums ); though, honestly, I doubt that many of the moderators and community members of that site could really reach that far in helping you. Here, however, we may find some sort of feasible way to assist you and those kids.. it'll take the whole community in the effort, but from all that I've seen from both of these sites (here and Waypoint), this site may actually accomplish something. But, in awful honesty, I don't hold any form of power on this site, so we're going to have to wait for a moderator to roll in here before anything can be solidified. Wish you the best, Seth. -

I'd love just to be able to sit back and toggle some comps to play against. (No, I don't mean Fire Fight.) I mean, it'd be hilarious in my opinion to load up a playlist of maps, split-screen with a couple of buddies, and just fill the rest of the roster with AI. Full BTB games, CTF, Slayer, yadda yadda yadda... I'm amazed Halo hasn't bothered doing something similar to "Combat Training."

Yeah, pretty much this. I've always loved the controls that were bound to be (more or less) Halo 3, just purely out of comfort and muscle memory. I hated having to go through the options every time I was on someone else's xbox just to get rid of those painful default controls.

O.o wow, a lot has happened. Couple of questions, any information on rrhuntington? How 'bout Ledgend? I have a feeling that sitting on my vote last round was a lot more of a detriment for pro-town. Ironically enough, however, after reading through all the stuff I've missed, I only have growing suspicions and dwindling trust.

What can we realisticly do about 343's incompetence?

To be fair, it's a modem/router's fault just as much as the server's fault for random disconnections. I've been a victim of this a few times (and after plenty of complaining to my ISP, it was fixed on my end), but the least you can do is be patient. Yeah, it'll test your patience and probably drive you insane (it's not a bad club to join, actually), but from what I've heard, they've been releasing patch after patch for weeks. Plus, the way I remember playing Halo (CE, 2, & 3) was entirely solo. Only after beating the campaign a few times with my friends (system link, local coop) did I actually consider getting an XBL Gold subscription. But, that's just me. -
After all my video game experience, I find a secondary main character to be sketchy, simply because it's easy to present one story in one game, then change everything in the sequel. (SCDA, followed by SCC; just to name one) Then again, I've never fully trusted the Arbiter, so maybe I'm just prejudiced.

After a short discussion in the ShoutBox, it's come to my attention that I need to get purp'd, and one of the many things I haven't done on this forum is post a thread in the Intro's and Goodbye's section. So.. Hello! :3 I'd say a whole buncha stuff to mislead you, but I've got an abrasive personality.. when it's a topic I'm passionate about, I don't mind stepping on a few toes to get my opinion out there. So, no.. we're probably not going to get along very well, and you may end up hating me, but I'm willing to at least try. I'm in the skype group and all, but I don't know how well that'll cater people's affection towards me. I'm blunt, but I take other's feelings into account. I've learned that honesty is a noble tool-- and that it needs to be used wisely. But, hey! I need to get purp'd, so if you'd like to discuss anything (let's not talk about Halo 2 or politics, just to keep it simple), I'm willin' to talk here. I know it's gonna take a while to get to purple, and hopefully this thread won't be locked because it's a very poorly disguised attempt to get my membership title up. But, hey.. let's get the ball rollin'.

Heh, as if it wasn't obvious. But hey, I don't know who's all pro-town and whatnot and I don't really know anything about anyone else's role, so I'm just gonna be waiting for someone else to roll the initiative on that one. (Which might end up revealing my 'discreet' role, lel) I haven't seen anything from Pbrabbit, so I can't really vote there; I can't vote for Delpen 'cause even though spite is a lovely charm to bear, it isn't enough evidence to vote with; and I was joking about voting Ruby Rose all along, so.. And hey, my number came up. As curious as I am to see how you write me, I'm going to abstain from voting suicide. I'm gonna sit on my vote for a little bit to see how well people can argue vote tilting. Start the bloodshed, people..

To be fair, as fun as it was, I figured that dual-wielding was just a gimmick. Sure, it had a 'tactical advantage' (but mostly only in Campaign); but as I said: a gimmick. It's cool, looks like you're John Woo or something, but it really limits the gameplay. I never really bothered with dual-wielding, I only found use for it when it came to Elites on the higher difficulties. But, all in all, I hope it does come back. I miss watching people use the noob-combo and outclassing them regardless of their 'preparation,' dodging plasma pistol rounds while they peppered pot shots at me with the measly little magnum, and being able to successfully line up a beat-down while they struggled getting their sword or shotgun out. tl;dr: It's a gimmick, but it's a fun gimmick. I'd love to see it back. (The Mauler in H3 was really fun to dual-wield, now that I think about it. Horrible range, disappointing damage output, but at least it was fun.)
