If you could know anything on Halo 4 what would it be and why?
CandiBunni replied to Slenderman's topic in Halo 4
The features or changes that they've made to the gameplay. That's it. That'd whet my appetite for information for quite a while. A simple screenshot or two of some gameplay in multiplayer or single player would also suffice. -
I never said that they don't follow orders from people who don't like them. Just that they don't follow their orders if they don't like their owners enough. This is possibly evidenced by Charizard's refusal to follow even the simplest of commands that Ash gives him for quite a long time in the series.

The reason that Halo 2 and 3 were so popular is because there wasn't really very much out at the time to compete with them. When more and more great games and FPSs were getting released, and when COD started to have a spike in popularity, that's when Halo's time as king started to come to an end. One of the main, if not the main reason Reach isn't number one on the charts is due to the following. People have grown tired of Halo and have moved onto other games or just other FPSs. There have been a lot of incredible FPSs that have been released since the time of Halo 2 and Halo 3. Because of this, those that were sticking solely to Halo have played these games, seen how great they are, and have moved onto them instead. Halo's inability to really move itself forward. The gameplay of Halo has remained pretty much the same ever since Halo 2 launched. Halo: Reach, while changing a few things, still plays pretty much like previous games. There haven't really been that many innovations or big leaps forward in terms of gameplay, and people have become bored of playing through a series that's pretty much refused to modernize itself. They have, perhaps, grown tired of the arcadie style of gameplay and have sought out (and obviously found) games that are more advanced and rewarding.

Please lighten up. It's a video game. The animals are following the commands of their owners, it's not like they're actually being forced to do so. Poke' mon won't listen to their owners if they don't like them or trust them. Besides, the poke'mon rarely, if ever, get seriously injured, and there are poke'mon shelters all around that will completely heal up any that are hurt.

-sigh- It's a real shame that they decided to remove bleedthrough. It solved that pesky double-melee issue, even though there were still people who attempted it. I think I'll stop playing Reach until the update comes. I don't see much of a point in playing the TU playlists when they're going to be changed soon. I know it's only one thing, but something as simple as bleedthrough can make quite a difference in how someone plays.

I just finished playing some split-screen games of Halo 2 with my little brother. Those rocket boxes that you've said also give ammunition for other weapons? Yea, they only give you extra rockets. I was playing on Ivory Tower, carrying a Battle Rifle with 72 shots on backup, walked over the rockets, and received NO ammunition for it or the sniper rifle I was carrying. Those boxes only give you rockets, nothing more. In the video you posted, the player walked over to some rocket ammunition AND a Battle Rifle. You can clearly see that there is a Battle Rifle next to all of the extra rockets that he/she walks over. That is where the extra ammunition for his Battle Rifle comes from. Apparently you actually don't know what you're talking about, because as I just stated, I tested this in split-screen on Halo 2 with my little brother (not even half an hour ago). Those rocket boxes that are located on the ground are simply that. Boxes that contain extra rocket ammunition. They do NOT supply you with ammunition for other weapons. My brother even tested this by wasting some of his SMG ammunition and walking over it. He received nothing from those boxes. Not one single bullet was given to him from them. I want anyone here who has Halo 2 to go into Ivory Tower and locate the rocket boxes/cases in the center of the map. Waste some of your ammunition for your SMG, Battle Rifle, Pistol, whatever you have. You will notice that those cases give you no extra ammunition when you walk over them.

While they're nothing special, it's still pretty nice to see some (hopefully real) screenshots. Hopefully we'll get some more information and/or screenshots in the near future. I'm completely starved of Halo 4 information, as I'm sure everyone else is.

I knew about those particular items, though I didn't know that they resupplied ammunition for any weapon. I've played Halo 2 quite a bit, but you know what? Those things were so insignificant and out of the way that I never really bothered to pay much attention to them. Like I've said before, take your petty insults and lack of respect for me and anyone else in this thread somewhere else.

That's quite a well thought out and constructive post you've got there. I'm amazed that you can tell just what type of player I am from an opinion on one subject about a game. It's amazing that you're able to tell whether I'm a "casual" or "hardcore" or whatever silly term you'd like to use without even taking a look at how I play, what I play, and such. /sarcasm This is in regards to your post above the one that I'm quoting: I'm sorry. Would you mind repeating that? And this time, could you make even an ounce of sense? I'm not a noob because I disagree with you and don't find what you're complaining about to be that big of a deal. You however, are being rather silly for getting so hot and bothered over something like this. You're also silly because you've got to resort to calling people "noob" and "casual" simply because they don't agree with your point of view. Take your lack of respect and your weak attempts at insulting me and others somewhere else. We don't need or want that sort of thing here.

COD MW3 is not good and heres why.
CandiBunni replied to Captain Antonio's topic in General Discussion
The lag can last for quite a while actually. There is no set amount of time that the lag lasts, as it depends on the connections on the players involved in the game. -
So I'm a noob because I disagree with you and think that what you're complaining about isn't something that's all that big of a deal? Okay, sure. Yes, I realise that people could travel to these ammo spots and resupply without having to wait for the weapon to spawn again. However I'm not getting hot and bothered over it because, to me, it's not a game crippling thing. It's not really something that I'm going to sit there and let work me up and ruin my enjoyment of the other games in the series over. I don't see how removing them from the game removes half of the gameplay value. If the overall gameplay value for you is half dependent on some ammo resupply crates, well I find that rather silly.

Lag sucks in any game, even in Reach. The lag isn't a game crippling thing either. It doesn't make the game unbearable or unplayable in the slightest. It stinks when there is some lag and you get killed when perhaps you shouldn't have, but that happens in every other FPS that I can think of. -
Because the Poke' mon games are turn-based RPGs. They have always, or mostly been so. You use your turn to attack, use an item, or such, then the opponent gets their turn to do so. There are a lot of RPGs that have used this kind of system.
-
Regardless, I believe you're complaining about something rather minor. Power weapons aren't useless now that you can't resupply them from ammo boxes scattered around the map. They still do major damage and can still turn the tide of a battle. Having to now resupply by visiting the weapon's spawn prevents one team or player being able to hold them all as easily. Now you have to risk your life by moving to the spawn, where everyone is perfectly capable of picking the weapon up. You still have to watch out for potential campers and such who might be waiting for the weapon to respawn. Personally I think you're overreacting quite a bit when you say that once they were removed that the game became "hollow" and "dead". In regards to the video, I'm not saying the boxes don't give ammo for everything, but there was a battle rifle near those boxes, which could have been the source of his added battle rifle ammo. Removing those ammo boxes hardly removes half of the gameplay value from the game. They're simply ammo boxes. Their only purpose was to give a few shots of ammo to someone if they came across them. Removing that hardly took a whopping half of the gameplay value away. They were nothing more than a random drop of ammo to pick up for whatever weapon you were holding. They weren't some huge make it or break it feature added to the game.

Would you care to link me pictures to these ammo boxes? Because from what I remember, there weren't any. I could be thinking about different types of ammo "boxes", but I'm not sure. I could just be forgetting, but I don't remember ever running into them.

I don't ever recall there being any ammo boxes in multiplayer to resupply your ammunition in Halo: Combat Evolved OR Halo 2. Are you sure you actually know what you're talking about? I'm pretty sure you've always had to resupply being visiting the weapon's spawn or picking up ammo from a dead player, never just to walk to an ammo box and resupply.I do recall there being some extra rockets in the middle of "Ivory Tower" for the rocket launcher, but that's pretty much it. Even then, you had to wait for those to respawn(if they ever did), or collect the weapon a second time.

COD MW3 is not good and heres why.
CandiBunni replied to Captain Antonio's topic in General Discussion
I enjoy Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 quite a bit. Here are my reasons for why I don't think it's a bad game. I have fun when I play it. The game isn't utterly crippled by bugs and glitches that make it unplayable. Its simplicity makes it accessible to a wide audience. It's all just opinion, and my opinion is that it's not a bad game, it's a good game. I have fun with it, and I'll continue to play it regardless of what others think. -
It wasn't nearly as effective as it is now pre-TU. I didn't say that there wasn't any double-melee left over-post TU, just that I don't see it nearly as often as I did before the TU. Besides, bleed-through makes this cheap tactic much less useful than it once was. Before, victims of the double-melee didn't really stand much of a chance unless they had a really good CQB weapon or armour lock, but now if someone attempts to rush in and double-melee someone, they have quite a big risk. Because of bleed-through, there is a pretty high chance that said melee user will end up dead on the floor instead of walking away with their opponent's blood on the butt of their gun.
-
I don't know about you, but I've not really seen people rushing and trying to melee as much as I did before the TU. Before, people would rush into you and melee you twice to score a cheap kill. I saw this all the time. Adding bleed-through has kinda solved this double-melee issue, at least from my experience. If you see people rushing at you like that with any weapon, you should be able to kill them before they can kill you if you've got the right weapon and are skilled enough. Because of bleed-through, those pesky sprint-melee people don't stand that much of a chance anymore. The AR is now useful in close combat situations. Pre-TU, I never really used the AR or Plasma Repeater (or really any plasma weapon for that matter) because I thought they were kind of useless. Things like the Plasma Pistol or Plasma Repeater, or even the AR are now actually effective close range weapons. A melee won't outright kill a player if they've got full shields, only when their shields are relatively low. When they're almost gone, that's when a melee is more likely to kill them. I don't think it should kill in one hit, however. I would prefer melee damage to be set to 75% or 50%, which I think would be better.
