  1. Simple yet nice. I think it makes much more sense to just use a five scale, so I'll do that. Using a ten scale adds too many useless numbers. Avatar rating: 4/5
  2. They can only make accurate shots, however, when they properly time their shots. If they spam their shots, they're going to miss if they spam across the map/at long ranges. Previous titles had a different version of bloom than the one in Reach, at least from what Twinreaper has said. So as I said, it has been in every game. The expanding reticule is a good thing in my eyes. It gives players the ability to see how inaccurate their shots are becoming because of bloom, and they can now properly time them better because of the expanding and resetting of the reticule.
  3. No. We don't like sword block because there are already plenty of ways to counter the sword. There was no need to add sword block when you can counter it by keeping a distance, using the shotgun, concussion rifle, backstepping, and using armour lock. There are plenty of ways already to counter the sword. If someone manages to keep themselves alive long enough to get in close range to use the sword, they deserve the kill if they can land the blow. Do you have any actual proof to back up the claim that pro players hate the TU and "noobs" like it? No, you don't. I don't know if you've noticed, but MLG uses Zero Bloom. Are you going to call everyone who plays MLG a noob because of that? If you do, you're just being foolish. 85% bloom rewards pacing more than 100% did. This is a fact, and as soon as I can locate the study that I've read about it, I'll post it in this thread. It's taking a while to find it, so bear with me. How does the title update make things easier, hm? With vanilla Reach, you could land a headshot quicker than someone who paced simply by spamming. You didn't even have to aim anywhere near their head. With the TU, you now have to actually aim onto their head and pace your shots to get a headshot. If you try to spam while aiming at the head, you're going to miss. No, we can't all agree on that. Every change made in the Title Update was for the better, and is how Reach should have played from the beginning.
  4. The DMR still takes the same number of shots to kill someone, yet they have fixed the bloom on it and all other precision weapons. Now pacers don't have to wait as long to take another timed shot, which rewards them more often than it did in vanilla Reach. Spamming isn't as effective either from what I can tell.
  5. The Legacy of Kain series, Threads of Fate, Loaded, Tomba 1 or 2, MediEvil 1 or 2, or Rayman 2: The Great Escape.
  6. I would like for the armour customisation to be even better than Halo: Reach's. It was pretty darn good in Reach, and I hope they'll expand on it. Also, they'd better have separate models for male and female spartans. >.> I loved how Reach did this. I also want the story to be more mature, more personal than previous entries. I want to see the MC taken down at one point or another and have to rebuild himself both mentally and physically. Not really sure how to explain what I mean by that. I guess I just want to see him shown to still be human underneath all that armour and silence.
  7. Spartan Gender - Female Primary Armour Colour - Cobalt Secondary Armour Colour - Silver Helmet - Security Left Shoulder - HAZOP Right Shoulder - MJOLNIR Mk. V Chest - Default Wrist - Default Utility - Tactical/Trauma Kit Visor Colour - Silver Knee Guards - GUNGNIR
  8. Either the magnum, needler, or concussion rifle.
  9. Yes, it has. If you need to have this explained in further detail, maybe given proof, ask Twinreaper.
  10. Except that bloom has been in every single Halo title, so it wouldn't just be something to "stay on Reach". If they had bloom, and quickly growing bloom on dual-wielding when you fired too often too quickly, then it might discourage people from just firing away with no worry. There needs to be something to balance out having two guns firing at once. How would having bloom on dual-wielding weapons encourage camping? I'm guessing you mean one SHOT, not...y'know... In that case, one shot with what? What weapons would be one shot because of bloom?
  11. You don't happen to know that I don't play a lot of Reach (or anything besides Minecraft). When I do I play I usually do customs and sometimes go into Squad and BTB. Those are the gametypes I frequent when I play Reach matchmaking post-TU. I used to play a lot of SWAT and such before the TU, so maybe that's why you think I frequent it. I don't. I mostly play Squad and BTB when I do matchmaking. If you're talking about my total games played, then it's going to show every game/the total amount of games played and not just after the title update. (As far as I know anyway.) Also, if you're looking to my overall KD for a way to judge my actual skill, you're doing it wrong. I know that most people might have a positive overall KD, but it's not the case for me. I have positive KDs in a few playlists, which I feel actually mean something if you want to look at KD. I'm not a bad player. I may not be the best, or even great, but I'm certainly not bad. I have enough confidence in my ability to say that, despite what some number may suggest.
  12. I wouldn't want to see dual-wielding in Halo 4. I prefer the Halo: Combat Evolved/Halo: Reach style of being limited to only two weapons. Dual-wielding can make things interesting, but I still prefer just using two weapons. If they did include it, I'd like for them to balance it out. In what ways? I'm not sure.
  13. Actually, I mostly play BTB and Squad Slayer. Thanks for assuming I play a certain gametype without even playing with me. I haven't played a lot of SWAT ever since I heard about/played the title update. And no, I've seen something that has proven that pacers are now rewarded more so with the title update than they were before. When I find it, I'll post in within this thread.
  14. Armour lock has been significantly weakened, and it's STILL not that big of a deal. Bloom is still in the Title Update, it's just been reduced by 15% and it resets quicker. You say you liked it because it made you pace your shots to achieve accuracy, except that pacing is rewarded more now than it was in vanilla Reach with the new 85% bloom.
  15. The gametype I play the most is Squad Slayer or BTB. Ever since the TU has been in effect, that's what I've been playing. I don't know if that's where you looked or not. Pummeling someone isn't my preferred method of killing. I simply kill them in whatever way I possibly can. If someone is very close to me, I'll try to melee them if I don't have the shotgun. I use a plasma repeater/melee combo for close range and prefer to use my DMR for medium to long range. So no, pummeling isn't my preferred way of killing. I simply kill in the way I believe to be the most effective in the situation. Sometimes I panic and do something wild, but that's not often. How have they taken the last good type of gameplay out? What exactly do you find wrong with the title update? I want to hear your reasons for why you dislike it because I'm honestly curious. I personally love it, and see the changes as how Reach should have played from the beginning. To me, 85% bloom plays a lot smoother/better than the standard 100%, melee bleed through has solved the double melee issue people had in vanilla Reach. Armor lock can no longer shed stickies and has its energy reduced depending on what someone shoots/explodes the person with, and active camo doesn't last as long as it once did. I like those changes, and they, to me, are what should have been vanilla Reach.
  16. Three shot kill? The DMR and magnum take five and four shots respectively. How has the TU ruined Halo? It's given Reach a more classic feel, while still having it feel different. Pansy lock? Really? Armour lock has been weakened from its pre-TU state, so I don't see how you could be complaining about it now when you could be shot or grenaded out of it. Plus stickies are no longer shed. COD doesn't, as far as I'm concerned, have anything like armour lock, so I don't know where you got that idea. Reach, especially after the TU IS about positioning and accuracy. The bloom with the title update now rewards pacing your shots properly more so than it does spamming, which couldn't really be said for vanilla Reach from what I've experienced. People don't have to hide and don't hide from their fights from all of the matches I've played. If anything, people are too gung-ho and rush their opponents far too much. If you want to play smart and play effectively, you'll know when to hang back and when to rush. The same could be said about any FPS. Double pummeling was an issue and was very cheap in vanilla Reach. I'm glad they added bleed-through back to solve this horrible problem. An illogical opinion? What on Earth are you talking about? To me, you seem to just be spouting a bunch of nonsense and don't actually know what you're talking about.
  17. If they want people to buy more games new, they should give us incentive to BUY THEM NEW! Doing things like this, the online passes, and things like that aren't going to work. If you want to see an increase in the sales of new games and a decrease in used games sales, you need to do two things. 1. Make your game worth the full price tag. Now, I've been guilty of buying games new, then kind of feeling like I really shouldn't have payed so much for them. Even if I enjoy them to a great degree, I still feel like they weren't fully worth the full retail price. Games like Prototype, Splatterhouse, Mirror's Edge, etc. Games with short single player campaigns and no/little multiplayer are usually games that I would probably be better off buying at a discounted price. Give people reason to play through them over and over. Feel free to include multiplayer, just don't have it detract from the single player or be so bare bones that it isn't very fun. 2. Offer people good deals/items for purchasing a game new. I see countless times on Steam where they'll offer deals like "Pre-purchase GAME X, and get upgraded to the Limited/Collector's Edition for free!" Offer people things like this. Give them items, characters, skins, weapons, anything like that as incentive to buy the game new, and do not give them the chance to get it if they purchase it used. If you offer up good, legitimate reasons to buy a game new, people will want to do so. Other than that, some people just don't have 60$ to shell out for a new game. Some people have to wait to get a game when it was dropped in price because they may not be able to afford paying full price all of the time.
  18. But it wasn't and isn't the only defense against it. There are plenty of weapons and other tactics to use to counter the sword. Including something like sword block pretty much makes the sword almost useless in my eyes as anyone with any decent reflexes can block it and get in a few shots, which might spell disaster for the sword wielder seeing as how they had to get in close to begin with. I think that if you're able to get in close enough to use it, you deserve the kill. I am pretty sure I named quite a few ways to counter the sword earlier in the thread, so feel free to look back and check those.
  19. I would use it to begin electrolysis and start my HRT. I'd also maybe give some to my parents to keep them going while using the rest to move out somewhere. Any extra I had would be used to visit my BFFs on occasion and buy anything else I need. I could really use a million dollars. - . -
  20. Gameplay. Not playlists or contests. The actual gameplay. They did nothing to alter the gameplay based on the complaints. I said that they didn't make any changes to how the game played based on the complaints given. For the umpteenth time, I never said that they didn't make changes to the playlists or such. That is all that I meant and from what I've seen/heard, it holds true. Why don't YOU read what I post more carefully? Tell me, what alterations did they make to the actual gameplay of the game due to complaints made by the fans? Playlists and forge contests are not part of what I'm talking about when I say gameplay. When I say gameplay, I mean how the game PLAYS. Not the playlists, not the contests, none of that. Now why not, instead of continuing to argue over something that shouldn't have been given so much attention, we just drop this argument and move on? Hm? I think that would be best.
  21. Yea, I knew he was calling me a hypocrite. I just want to know how I was being one is all.
