  1. Would you like to give us more to work with? Anyone, innocent or guilty, can claim they did nothing to warrant the ban they received. What game were you banned in? Halo 3, Halo: Reach, or Halo 4? What happened leading up to the ban? What were you doing? What was going on in the game?
  2. I like that pre-order armours and skins are exclusive and won't be made available to those who didn't pre-order. It makes them special. You didn't need to go to so much trouble trying to convince potential naysayers that FOTUS wasn't a skin (it's an armour, but whatever). I only have the Forest Hazop from pre-ordering from Gamestop, but what do you need three FOTUS codes for?
  3. The benefits of removing friendly fire far outweigh any consequences. You're complaining about teammates blowing up your vehicle just because they wanted it. I'm not sure if that kills you, or if it just destroys your vehicle, but here is a list of what you get with friendly fire. Friendly Fire Betrayals from teammates who want the vehicle you're using. Betrayals from teammates who want the weapon you're using. Betrayals from teammates looking to piss you off. Betrayals from players accidentally shooting or running you over. Betrayals from grenade spam. Being booted for accidentally betraying someone. Having to deal with a betrayal booting system that is, and may always be, flawed and broken. Is all of this really worth it? Not in my eyes it's not. I don't care if it's been a part of Halo since the beginning. It serves no real major benefit. You can say it punishes players for being too reckless, but so does them getting killed by the enemy team, and that doesn't result in betrayals and the subsequent booting of players. You can say it forces people to play more safely when around teammates, but again, is that one aspect really worth all of the hassle that comes with something like FF? People have been complaining about the betrayal booting system for ages, and when it's finally solved (for the most part at least), people complain because now they can't betray their teammates, or vice versa. Make up your minds, you either live with all of the nonsense that comes with friendly fire just for a possible, small benefit to the overall experience, or you remove it and eliminate the mess that comes with it. Personally I'm in favour of removing Friendly Fire completely.
  4. That isn't a good idea. If they were an integral part of the story, then it makes no sense in locking them behind Spartan Ops, a feature that requires an internet connection and an Xbox Live Gold membership to use (which is stupid in itself). What if someone does not have an internet connection, or they don't have an Xbox Live Gold membership to play Spartan Ops? Should they be denied this backstory just because they can't fork out more money for a game they've already purchased?
  5. Not exactly. While we experience the events he will be going through in Halo 5, there could be moments where we are thrust into his past to relive some of what he went through. Flashbacks.
  6. I think the maps are pretty great. @Doug Killa They're far better than what was in Halo: Reach, though I did enjoy those maps as well. These remind me of maps in Halo 2 and Halo 3, and even stand as equals to them.
  7. Then don't. You decide which you want the most and buy it from there. If you want them all, and they're pre-order exclusive, then try finding people to trade or give you codes.
  8. No, actually. I'm having more fun with Infinity Slayer in Halo 4 than I've had with Team Slayer or any Slayer variant in Halo 3 or Halo: Reach. It's fast paced, more so than even Halo 3, that's something I really like. I enjoy the customisation options they've given to us, allowing for more depth and letting players play just how they'd like. It's much more dynamic than previous Halo titles.
  9. What's the point of pre-ordering for a skin/armour set if someone who buys the game on or after launch can get it as well? It's meant to be an exclusive, and I believe it should stay that way.
  10. You more than likely just hit the daily XP cap. Also, if you're going to troll other players, you'd better be prepared for whatever form of retaliation they throw at you. You bring it upon yourself.
  11. The flags have a set timer and will return to your base once the time has expired. At any point before then it is up for grabs by the enemy team, so you really need to keep an eye on it and cooperate with your team to ensure it gets returned. Personally I always found it annoying that you couldn't capture a flag unless yours was at your base. It dragged the games out for far too long, making them become pretty dull. As far as your last complaint goes. You dislike that you have no say in whether or not you pick up the enemy team's flag when you walk over it. If this is bothering you, simply stay away from the enemy flag. It isn't that hard, and it will ensure you don't pick it up by accident. Also watching where exactly you're going and being more aware of your surroundings should help.
  12. Happy birthday, One~!

  13. I do agree. It has become annoying to see both sides. Those who enjoy the game, whether they think it is perfection on a disc or just that it's a great experience have no good reason to bash anyone who disagrees with them, especially not label them a troll, even if they are spouting the same thing as others before them. Likewise, those that don't really enjoy the game should not mock and question the intelligence or skill of those who do. What especially irks me is seeing new members signing up with names praising or bashing 343 Industries or Halo 4. This is just asking for a "fight", so I do wish that those considering the idea would instead come up with a legitimate username that won't possibly cause any drama between themselves and others. I agree with your message, but I have serious doubts that it will have much of an impact as myself, you, and other members have tried bringing these kinds of things to attention before, tried bringing our community together, but to no avail.
  14. When you beat the game on Legendary you will get to view the upper part of Master Chief's face. It isn't very much, but it's something at least. I have seen it, not from beating Legendary, but from the leak we had a while back. It's real.
  15. The rising. The falling. My mind keeps tricking me. It throws me a life raft, then leaves me out at sea.

  16. I would like the armour if that's okee. Just send me a PM and I'll reply ASAP~
  17. Here is a list of issues I've currently had. The server issues that everyone has been experiencing. The energy sword fails to make a sound when I draw it out, but makes one when I switch to my other weapon. Challenges don't appear to be functioning properly, as my friend has completed one of the more difficult ones twice, yet it does not say he has completed it. Ranks/Stats appear buggy, as I and others have been getting reset to SR1 and the default armour.
  18. No, actually. I won't have any trouble sitting in the car until the (possible) line dies down, where I can then go into the store to pick up my copy of the game. Why wouldn't I just go earlier and do that? Well, I don't want to wait for such a long time.
  19. I plan on going to pick up my pre-ordered copy around midnight. Leaving my house at around 11:45 or so sounds like a good idea, because I do not have any desire to stand in a line and wait. This is especially so since my legs have been hurting like mad since yesterday and still hurt today.
  20. They have also already said that they're going to have a system to match players of similar skill levels up with one another. You may not have a visual way of seeing your skill, but so long as you are actually matched up with players whos skill is close to your own, does it really matter all that much? Having a visual rank may allow you to quickly see a general representation of a person's skill level, but most of the time it seems like people want this purely for the bragging rights. No this is not the only reason, but it seems to be one of the main ones. Removing this visual element but still matching players up based upon their skill seems like a smart move to me. It is more likely to cut down on boosters and the selling of accounts, but still letting people have a competitive experience.
  21. I'm announcing that after today I will be taking a hiatus from 343Industries.org. This is not a permanent leave of course (which is why I said "hiatus"), so perhaps one day I will visit the website again. Please don't misunderstand what you read below, I am not saying the website is bad or that I don't like, simply that these are a few reasons as to why I have a lack of drive and interest in visiting the website, why I'm not having as much fun as I used to, and why I need a break. The website seems to be going a more "child friendly" approach, at least from my point of view. Everything from the shoutbox, to the forums, to the status updates seem to be regulated and the rules enforced in such a way as to make it as friendly for the younger members as possible. While I do think those members should be taken into consideration, so too do I believe the older and more mature users should as well. A happy medium, a balance between the different age groups (and maturity levels), just doesn't seem to be in place. The website feels as if it's leaning more towards being as safe and sterile as possible so as not to cause any offense or discomfort to anyone. I'm all for everyone being happy and having fun on the website, but people will always get offended by and discomforted by things that others say or do. This can be lessened, but I don't believe it should come at the cost of taking away any freedoms that myself and others greatly enjoyed having. In general the laid-back feeling of the website I felt it had has either lessened or been erased completely. I'm not entirely sure at this point. I believe that things should only carry restrictions whenenough members report and complain about the lack thereof. If a person presents their point of view on a topic in a respectful and polite way for example, and another takes issue with it (it offends them, they disagree with it, etc.), I believe the member who took offense should either A) discuss it privately with the member in question, Pay it no mind, acting as if they did not see whatever it was, or C) Deal with it. Something that I believe would benefit the website is a section dedicated solely to more adult topics. These topics range from politics, to religion, other worldly affairs, etc. Things more mature and adult members would typically like to discuss. This does not include anything considered to be "X-Rated". I can see where those who are opposed to this kind of thing are coming from, they don't wish for members to start attacking one another based on their beliefs/views, this could be moderated just as anything else. A member who starts attacking and insulting others, not being civil, could have their access to such topics revoked. I do know this is possible with forums, as I've seen the option to myself when administrating other sites. The issue of members lying about their age is another concern I understand, however I believe that a persons age should not matter in this case so long as they maintain a civil, polite, and respectful attitude when discussing any of these topics. No doubt this kind of section would possibly require more attention than others and need to be thought out in detail, but if it was maintained and handled well it would be a very nice addition to the website, I think. Different sections of the shoutbox for these kinds of topics would also be a nice addition, though would require more moderation as well (possibly from members selected to monitor the shoutbox and mute anyone that gets out of hand).
  22. It was a neat little feature in Halo 2 and Halo 3, but I never feel like it truly offered anything of great importance to the sandbox. One of the major problems I had with it was that it cluttered the sandbox up with too many weapons that just weren't necessary. In Halo 3 for example you had the Plasma Rifle, SMG, and Spiker. Now while the Plasma Rifle is classified as a rifle, to me it just seems more like a plasma-based SMG. That and there was really no need to include both the SMG and the Spiker since they also function pretty much the same with only a few small changes that, in my opinion, don't warrant an entirely new weapon.
  23. I'll vote for Shepard. She's a far more interesting and engaging character than the Master Chief (who I don't find all that interesting to begin with) Despite all of the wars they've fought, despite watching people they knew and cared about die, Shepard still has and shows emotion. The Master Chief hardly displays anything resembling emotion in the entire trilogy. I never get to see, hear, or feel his humanity (which I know he still has), and that prevents me from making any special connection with him. The whole blank slate thing would be fine if the character had no backstory and always remained quiet, however when your character does have a background (a rather detailed one I might add), and actively speaks and interacts with other characters in the games and universe, the "blank slate" approach doesn't really work all that well. I've never felt any connection, sympathy, or pity for the Master Chief. This is in large part to just how little emotion he's ever displayed. At most some of his dialog has hinted at him being either angry, annoyed, or overwhelmed/worried about his current situation, but these instances do little for me. Hopefully 343 Industries does a better job than Bungie at conveying his humanity and his emotions.
  24. September 14th 2010 to September 14th 2012 is a two year time span. It has had two anniversaries so far. A birthday is a type of anniversary and is held every year after the date of birth. (Which in this case is the release date of Halo: Reach) So even then, that's only two birthdays.
  25. That's downright silly. They spent 10 years doing nothing but Halo. I don't know about you, but I would want to create new games and new franchises, not just stick to a single one my whole career. Microsoft owned the franchise since Combat Evolved, so there wasn't much they could have done other than stay and continue Halo development, or leave and get the opportunity to create a brand new IP that they would be the owners of. Personally I think the latter sounds like the smartest move. Just because they decided to stop developing games in the Halo series does not, in any way, mean they don't deserve to exist as a video games company anymore. They developed quite a few high quality franchises before Halo, so I see no reason why they cannot do that now.
