There were other FPSs that did this well before Halo: CE. DOOM, Quake, Unreal Tournament, etc. Halo 2 was NOT the first console game across the internet/that had online multiplayer by the way. What did Halo 3 introduce into gaming? I can't think of anything that it introduced that hadn't been done before.

I'm going to simply say this. Bloom has been in every single Halo title ever since Halo: CE. It may not have been as much of a focus, but it certainly was in every title. I don't know about you, but I have no issue with pacing my shots and getting the kill against someone who spams their trigger. Especially with the TU changes implemented. If you're losing against spammers now, you must not be properly timing your shots. The size of your reticule doesn't affect how accurate your shots are. That is bullet spread, and the expanding of the crosshairs does absolutely nothing but show the area in which your shots are going to land due to it. I would not want them to include cheap glitches like the BxR and double shot. If your shields are low, I think you should find a proper way to out play your opponent, rather than resorting to a cheap glitch to save you. Halo 2 was absolutely not the game that put the video game industry on the map. There were plenty of games before even Halo: CE that had popularized video games. Super Mario Bros., Sonic, Doom, The Legend of Zelda, etc. Just to name a few. I like Halo 2. I believe it to be a very fun game. I do however, believe that Halo 3 did what Halo 2 did, but did it much better. Just my opinion though. I happen to think Reach and ODST are very good games as well.

There's nothing wrong with bringing it up in the forums. Everyone is able to discuss whatever game they want in the "Other Games" section of the board. If they want to talk about COD, they're free to talk about COD. This board should be a place for fans of all types games to come as well as Halo fans. Halo may be the main focus, but it doesn't mean that people cannot discuss other games.

Please explain to us exactly how the TU broke the game and made it more like Call of Duty. I'd LOVE to hear your reasons. The game plays nothing like Call of Duty, even with the TU. The update is nothing like Call of Duty either. Go play some Call of Duty, then play Halo: Reach. Play both vanilla and updated settings. The two series play nothing alike. They should not bring the beta settings back. In my opinion, based off of what I've heard/read of the beta, bloom was worse than vanilla Reach, some armour abilities like armour lock were worse, some weapons were overpowered, and grenades were like "mini nukes". I don't want to play with settings like that. Ever.

I personally believe that, at the very least, sprinting should return in Halo 4. It allows people to get from one point to the other quicker, escape from a particularly deadly situation, get to their teammates (who might be in danger) quicker, etc. I don't see any harm in including it. It is a feature that, in my eyes, every first person shooter should have.

Reach is not a "baby game" by any means. Please exaplain to me what a baby game is, and how Reach is one. You have no idea why they removed it from the game, so please don't assume it was to keep less skilled players from being bashed by their teammates because they were doing poorly. Would you like it if you were doing poorly and your teammates kept harassing you because of it? No, you wouldn't. You wouldn't want to play the game if you were going to be insulted and yelled at by people ON YOUR OWN TEAM. They might have removed it because they may have felt it to be an unneeded feature. That they felt people didn't use it enough to justify adding it in again. It takes a considerable amount of skill to be a good player in Reach, as it does with previous entries in the series. Please stop filling the forum with your hate for Reach. It is getting on the nerves of fellow members, and is at the point where it is becoming nothing but spam.

You didn't say anything close to that. You told the "reach kids" to "gtfo". That resembles nothing close to "It seems like everyone who likes Reach is trying to make Halo 4 into Reach, and take important competitive aspects away." You've not given any examples or explained how anyone who likes Reach might be doing this. A decision by Bungie to remove the multiple statistics from the scoreboard in game is also not an example of this. Making the game purely for competitive players would be a foolish decision, because not everyone who plays Halo does so competitively. I understand some people want Halo 4 to resemble the more classic feel of past entries, rather than to play similar to Reach. The problem is that Halo needs to grow up. It needs to do some things differently, and provide new and exciting features. Playing the exact same way over and over makes a video game franchise become dull and lifeless. Look at what Call of Duty is/has become. The game plays exactly the same and has for the past three or four entries, if not more. You don't have to continue to bash the game or its players. 343i has stated that they're taking the best things from previous games in the series (including Reach I assume) as well as coming up with some original features/ideas. That statement should be enough to give you some faith in what they are doing.

Assuming everyone who plays Reach doesn't know what they're talking about or is a bad player at previous entries in the series. Don't be so silly. You dislike Reach, we know this. Hearing you insult the game and those who play it over and over has become quite tiresome, and a lot of people are sick of hearing it. I've been playing Halo since Combat Evolved. I love Halo: Reach. Does that make me a bad player? Does that mean I don't enjoy the other games or that I don't understand mechanics or things like that? No, it doesn't. It's fine that you don't like Reach, there's nothing wrong with that. It isn't fine that you keep posting your hate for it and it's players every time you get the chance. Enough is enough. I agree that having that extra information might, in some cases, be useful. I do however think that even without it, players can still do just as well. You just need to be more aware of your surroundings and which players are doing what.

Because you obviously know for a fact that they're creating new games just to line their pockets and not to please the millions of fans they have. /sarcasm Bungie and 343/Microsoft are a business first and foremost. They create video games to make money. That's what businesses do. They create a product that people want, people buy it, and they turn a profit. So far every Halo game has been a good one, and plenty of people have bought them. Regardless of your opinion on each particular entry in the franchise, they have all been of good enough quality to gain millions of purchases and thousands and thousands of active players. They do give a **** about creating a great game, otherwise you might see them reusing the exact same things for each entry, like in COD for example. They go to the trouble to develop a story people will like, characters people will love, hire voice actors for said characters, create different sound effects, models, and textures for weapons, objects, characters, etc., spend countless hours working on animations, programming, fixing bugs and glitches, and spend their lives creating a product that they hope their fans will enjoy. They pour themselves into their work, and you should learn to show some respect towards those who develop a series you apparently enjoy.

If anything the TU does separate the good players from the bad more so than vanilla Reach did. The people who pace now are rewarded more often than they were pre-update, and spammers seem to be punished more often because of it. It seems that those who spam have less of a chance of scoring a kill now, thanks to the reduction in bloom and quicker resetting reticule. I don't know where you heard that most people don't like the title update, but I'd love to see where you got that information from.

This is a fan site created for those who enjoy Halo, as well as a community site. 343 Industries does not run this website, though I have heard that they do visit and look at it on occasion. This website was created by, and is run by the administrator Twam.

Halo Reach January Playlist Updates 10th January
CandiBunni replied to Spectral Jester's topic in Halo Reach
It actually does affect the gameplay. Your shots are now more accurate and more reliable, making the weapons feel much better in my opinion. It now seems to reward those who pace a lot more than those who spam, which is a good thing. -
If you're going to say they ruined it, you could at least give some reasons why. I personally don't mind armour abilties. Halo has needed a sprinting feature for quite a while, and none of the abilties bother me all that much. They all have their advantages and disadvantages, and they also add some variety to the game. I would have preferred AAs besides sprint to be pickups, but I don't mind them being choices in the respawn menu either.

What was your armor color in Combat Evolved?
CandiBunni replied to highplainsdrifter's topic in Halo CE + Anniversary
It didn't really look all that black though. To be honest, I found that it resembled more of a steel colour than actual black.- 47 replies

No, not everyone hates Reach. Don't say something so silly.

If you don't play it, why waste your time even speaking out about it? If you don't enjoy the game then simply leave it alone and distance yourself from it. It's that simple. Stop wasting your time filling the forums with your hate of Reach and just post things about what you DO enjoy. The best thing to do when you dislike a game, type of music, etc. is to not waste your time with anything related to it.

Ong-Bak: The Video Game Announced
CandiBunni replied to Spectral Jester's topic in General Discussion
Remember The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay and Assault on Dark Athena? Let's hope they pull something like that and create something spectacular. I haven't seen the movie(s), but I'll be sure to once I have the time. -
Care to explain what the "baby changes" are? The Reach scoreboard DOES show your kills, deaths, and assists during the game. It also shows your highest time spent alive, what medals you earned, k/d ratio, headshots, tool of destruction, etc. There's nothing stupid or wrong with it.

My armour colour in Combat Evolved was always pink. Why? Because pink is my favourite colour.- 47 replies

Save your hate for an opinions thread on Halo: Reach. This isn't the time, nor the place. You may not enjoy the game, but there are plenty of people who do. Deal with it.
