You're saying it's becoming more like Call of Duty, yet you've read how they plan to have it work. Yes loadouts are something that Call of Duty uses, but also something that a lot of other FPSs and even TPSs use. Why is it that only Call of Duty is singled out for this comparison? Why is it that Call of Duty is always the game used for these comparisons? From how they plan to make the loadouts function, I don't see the issue here. They have said power weapons won't be selectable, and what will likely happen is that we will have choices like the Assault Rifle, Battle Rifle, DMR, Magnum, etc. Those types of weapons are probably what we can expect to be choices. Now since power weapons won't be options, only weapons like those I listed above, what is the issue? If these weapons and others will still be placed upon the map and will spawn like they have in previous Halo games, what is the issue here? You will still be capable of moving around and picking them up. I see no problem with someone choosing an AR over a BR, or a BR over an AR. If that is the weapon that better suits their playstyle and the weapons are balanced well with one another, there isn't really any issue as far as I am concerned. Simply having a feature that resembles something that Call of Duty or any other game uses does not automatically make that feature a terrible one. They have shown that they are not going to simply copy and paste features from one series into Halo 4 without balancing it and making sure that it fits in with the Halo Universe and style. How they are handling loadouts is a good example of this. The gameplay of the Halo series is not and should not remain the same. If you want Halo to last another 10 years, it's going to have to go through some changes to keep it fresh and fun for not only old fans but in order to bring in new ones as well. If Halo's gameplay were to remain the same or did not see any real changes to the formula, that would definitely kill it. People will grow tired of playing the same game over and over and over again. Even the most die hard of Halo fans would soon tire of playing with the same mechanics and same gameplay elements without anything new to spice it up. There hasn't been all that much change between games like Halo 2 and Halo 3. Halo: Reach actually tried to change the traditional Halo formula up a little and people went ballistic over it.

Well having it someplace like right there would prevent it from being lost in the kill feed. If it were just placed within the kill feed, it could possibly be lost if you weren't paying close attention. I personally don't mind it being where it is in the video, though I wouldn't mind it being closer to the bottom middle of the HUD instead.

The female gender option having a different model in Halo: Reach was a huge plus in my eyes. I definitely want to see the females have a separate model in Halo 4. (Rather than just a swapped set of voice over work) If there isn't one and we're only stuck with voice clips...I'll be disappointed.

I'm really glad there seems to be very little (if any) aim assist in this clip. I'm hoping that it is more like this in the final game, because the aim assist in past Halo games has been pretty blah in my opinion. I've never liked how much they've assisted your aim in past Halos, so here's hoping the final product has as little (if any at all) as this clip shows.

Halo 4's Changes To Competitive Multiplayer Gameinformer video
CandiBunni replied to call me graham's topic in Halo 4
We also don't know if, besides the experience system, there is also another ranking system in place. Perhaps they've used the experience based system for basic ranking and unlocking, yet given us another system more close to Halo 2 and Halo 3's. There's no way to tell for sure, but either way I'm not too bothered by it. -
Frank O' Connor already pretty much confirmed that there would be no beta There being no beta for Halo 4 is quite old news. If you would like to watch and listen to the interview in which he answers the Halo 4 Beta question (among others), a link to it is below. "...We're definitely testing the game at scale.", "Our focus is on shipping this game and polishing it, and polishing it, and polishing it.", "A beta would obviously be a huge interruption to that process." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXgPSfQY44c

Are you upset that Elites will not be playable in Halo 4 Matchmaking?
CandiBunni replied to ZB-85's topic in Halo 4
I haven't heard anything about an "Elite Ops", so if you would please link me to an interview or statement about this then that would be nice. I'm just not informed about that mode. I do not care if they are playable or not because I hardly ever used them and had no desire to use them. Spartans have always been the race I preferred, and I have always liked their armour choices far more than that of the Elites. I never said that I do not like Elites at all, I said that I do not care if we are allowed to play as them. Spartans wouldn't be out of the picture because that is what players have played as from the beginning. The Spartans are what Halo's gameplay is designed around, not the Elites. They have been a part of Halo's multiplayer since day one. -

I don't have to do any of that for you to read my comments. I should not have to go through so much just for you to have an open mind and accept my opinion. The Elites being playable for multiplayer are not what made Covenant weaponry. The Covenant developed their own weapons but also used Forerunner technology to aid in the creation of these weapons and other technology. (To my knowledge). Please read over my posts again, and this time with an open mind. Just because I do not care to play as an Elite or care to go to such lengths as to role play as an Elite does not make my opinion any less valid than if someone who did those things was saying it. As for what you are trying to say, McChicken343... They are not simply creating Call of Duty or some other game with the Halo aesthetic. They have told us and assured us that the game still feels like Halo. When you at least rent and play all that the game has to offer, then you can honestly tell me how the game plays and feels. Until then, your accusations of Halo 4 being nothing more than a Call of Duty clone or copy-cat have nothing to really back them up other than some features that we have yet to see in action and learn enough about to properly judge. -
You cannot run for as long as you want. Please make sure you have the correct information before you try to claim something like this. Sprinting in Halo 4 will be a standard feature given to all players, and it will have a limited use just like sprinting had in Halo: Reach. When the energy is depleted, you will need to wait for it to recharge. While you are sprinting, if you are taking damage your sprinting speed will be slowed for as long as damage is being done to you.

It is not exactly like Call of Duty. 343 Industries has said time and time again that they're not just going to take a feature from another game and toss it into Halo. They're going to try to balance what they add and change. They won't shoe horn something in and say "Well, there's a new feature! We don't have to alter it or make sure it's balanced for the playstyle of Halo because it worked just fine in Call of Duty!" Some features may be similar, but they will not be just like the features you see in Call of Duty. There will more than likely not be any skins for weapons, no weapon attachments, no killstreak rewards, nothing of that sort.

CandiBunni replied to ZB-85's topic in Halo 4
They are not dumb and they do not want to ruin the game. Just because you don't agree with a decision that they've made does not give you the right to label them as unintelligent and accuse them of wanting to ruin a game they have been working on for at least three years. Why would they want to ruin their own game? How would that benefit them at all? It wouldn't. -
We have not seen it in action, so judging it now would make absolutely no sense. What they have said it that it will function similarly to Halo 3: ODST's VISR mode, but the range will be shorter. I also believe I heard something about a delay, but I'm not sure what that delay applies to with Forerunner Vision. It will also emit a sound that others around you can hear while you are using it.

Are you upset that Elites will not be playable in Halo 4 Matchmaking?
CandiBunni replied to ZB-85's topic in Halo 4
No, some people (like myself) simply don't care because it's not a huge deal to us. I played as an elite a few times, but for the most part I have always chosen to be a Spartan. The weaponry isn't Elite weaponry, it's Covenant weaponry. We had it in Halo 1 and Elites were not playable, so what you're saying really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. The 30% that you mention in your post...how did you happen to come up with this percentage? What have you done, looked at, read, etc. to determine that the Elites being playable made up 30% of what Halo is? On that same note, what makes Halo Halo will vary depending on who you ask. We all have our own different opinions on what makes Halo what it is, and no one person can claim that they know just exactly what makes the series what it is. Removing the option to play as an Elite in multiplayer will hardly "destroy" the series. What will destroy the series is a lack of change in gameplay and the lack of evolution as a whole. As for the one of a kind gameplay you talk about, how do Elites affect that at all? When playing as an Elite (Apart from in Halo: Reach) the game plays exactly the same. You use weapons just like a Spartan player would. You jump, run, hit, and throw grenades just like a Spartan would. Everything is the same apart from maybe the hitboxes. -
No, they do not. Your friend told you something that is incorrect. Halo uses a "motion tracker" which detects when someone is moving, tossing a grenade, shooting, jumping, etc. If you are moving while crouched you will not show up on the radar, but tossing a grenade, jumping, or shooting will all show you on a nearby player's radar for a brief moment. The motion tracker has a pretty limited range, and anything outside of that range will not show up. Halo: Reach uses the exact same kind of motion tracker that past Halo titles used, albeit with perhaps a shorter range and a feature that shows whether or not someone is above, below, or on the same level as you on the map. The motion tracker we've used in previous games will return in Halo 4, and perhaps it will alert us to a few new things depending on what happens in a match or what abilities someone is using. We don't know the exact details, so it's best to wait and see.

Here is the evidence of bloom/error angles in past Halo games. Your rank has nothing to do with it and not noticing it does not mean that it was not there, because it was. The post that this link directs you to will give you the proof you desire. You're not the only one who thinks simpler is better, however simpler in today's market won't get you anywhere. The FPS market for today just isn't kind to games that keep it simple and bare bones. If you want the series to survive, it's going to need to evolve and "grow up" if you will. The Halo series will need to change if the fans wish to see it continuing to be a success and if they want to be playing it for another ten years. Simple is fun, but it just won't work that well in this day and age. Especially with FPSs getting as advanced as they are and rewarding players, as well as giving them lots of customisation. http://www.343indust...__20#entry53237

I don't mean to burst your bubble, but that is a fact. Bloom/error angles have been in every single Halo title. Halo: Reach uses a different version, but error angles have been in every single Halo FPS. That is a fact. From what I remember Twinreaper saying, the bloom in Halo: Reach is more controllable/manageable than in past games as well. Halo cannot remain the same as past entries and hope to survive and thrive in today's market and well into the future. People have moved on from the simple gameplay of Halo 2 and Halo 3. They've grown tired of playing the same exact style of gameplay. If you want Halo to succeed, change is going to happen whether you or I like what happens or not. Halo will need to evolve and change if it is to do well in today's FPS market. If it were to continue playing just as it does now, with little to no variation, that would send the series into an early grave.

This isn't the official Halo website, so you won't be getting a response from any of the members over at 343 Industries. 343i has said that there will be loadout/custom classes, but we don't know just how these will work out yet. We don't know if there will be a pre-selected primary or secondary weapon because of the loadouts. The Mauler was a fun weapon to use, but I felt like it and other weapons (the Spiker and SMG for example) really just cluttered the weapon sandbox up far too much. I would much rather have fewer weapons, each functioning differently and giving players a different way to end their opponent's life.
-
This could be unfinished and unpolished in game footage. If you will remember the multiplayer screenshots that have been released and gameplay clips from the "First Look" video, they looked better than this. At least in my opinion they did.

They took out Armour Lock because they would be met with serious backlash from the community if it was in Halo 4, not to mention that it was a completely unneeded ability. Players should not be allowed to delay their death with something like that in my opinion. I believe that they should use the map, their weapons, and movement to evade damage, not an ability that completely halts the current battle. I did not mind armour lock, but I would rather not see it return. We don't know exactly how Forerunner Vision is going to work, so please try not to assume things. The "Spartan Ops" mode that they've described isn't going to be like Call of Duty's "Spec Ops" mode. Where as "Spec Ops" is simply a wave based survival game, "Spartan Ops" seems to be a more story driven and mission based game mode. "Spartan Points" will probably function the same way, at least similarly to how Credits did in Halo: Reach. Also, I do believe that Halo: Reach was released before Call of Duty: Black Ops, which was the Call of Duty game that introduced "COD Points" to Call of Duty. So because of that, they didn't really take them from Call of Duty. "Spartan Points" might just be an evolution of Credits from Halo: Reach. As for the names "Spartan Ops" and "Spartan Points", those are placeholder names. They will not be what those things are called in the final game.

I just searched up to find a site that had most, if not all of the recently released Halo 4 screenshots somewhere. The link below contains some of the more recent screenshots that have been released. Sadly though, they all have the Game Informer logo in them, so I'm not too sure if you'll want to use them Hopefully this helped, even a little. http://www.factpile....ts-concept-art/

1. I would like to believe that it wouldn't be that way if they are actually implementing a join in-progress system. I would hope that if they use this feature, that you would only join games with people with the same skill level or rank as you, instead of being matched up at random with other players. 2. This might only be for certain gametypes, and not a universal system. So long as the spawns aren't absolute rubbish and there is ample cover on the map, I don't think this would be that big of an issue, if one at all. 3. I would think that the custom loadouts will only feature certain weapons and abilities for players to choose. No power weapons and overpowered weapons or abilities would be available. In order to keep it closer to Halo's style, I don't believe there will be different versions of weapons or attachments or things like that, merely the option to choose between a DMR, Battle Rifle, or Assault Rifle as your primary weapon, a side-arm/pistol type weapon, and an ability. These weapons would still be placed around the maps for others pick up (as well as other weapons). 4. More than likely the weapon spawns will not be random as some fear. Regular weapons might spawn just how they would in other Halo titles, while power weapons might be given different key areas to spawn in on the maps. For example: There are three key points on "Map 1". The rocket launcher might spawn in either of these three locations at a specific time, just like in past titles. You would be required to keep a watch on all three locations to see where it spawned. I personally wouldn't mind something like this. To answer your final question, no. You are never the only one to think something, feel a certain way, or to do or say something. There are millions of people on Earth, so the chances of you being the only one to think, do, or say anything is very slim. I'm not nervous. I don't think that we know enough about Halo 4's features to really form a proper opinion on them, and I'm going to wait until I hear and see more and play the final game in its entirety before judging anything.

There is a new enemy, it just hasn't been revealed to us yet. The Covenant will not be the main foe we fight in Halo 4. They'll be there, but they're going to going to be the main focus.

I think it's just fine. Sprinting as a special ability is rather silly to me. A lot of shooters (including games such as DOOM, Marathon, Duke Nukem 3D) have sprint as a standard player feature, so I don't see why Halo should not have it. I know I know, "Halo's not supposed to be like every other shooter! It's supposed to be different!" Let me just say this, having features that resemble something in another game does not automatically make one series (such as Halo) play like that other game. Even if Halo 4 would feature sprint and custom loadouts (without the ability to choose power weapons), the game would still feel like Halo (at least in my opinion) due to things such as the energy shields, a motion-tracker, recharging health, floaty jumping, etc. Those and other features that are unique to Halo would still keep it feeling plenty different in my eyes.
