  1. Nah, it's not consistent, just a serious pita when it happens
  2. This idea is mint and is something SETI has been doing for years for additional computing power. And MS can do it cheaply too, all they need is a setting on the Xbox 360 that will allow it to go into a dedicated server mode when it is powered down (like the background downloads setting). These dedicated hosts would be used by matchmaking just like a normal console, but would only be used to host games. All current hosting methodology would still exist, so client hosting would still occur. Host ratings would still be used and even host migration would still occur (someone might turn on their console while its hosting). Its really the same system that exists now, but with a pool of dedicated servers, so overall the network quality of games would vastly improve.
  3. Wish I could tell ya man. That's why I buy the LE's, avoid all the madness. I'd just call XBox myself and find out the proper procedures from there.
  4. Sounds like someone needs to work on their magnum lol.
  5. The networking is the most frustrating thing for the lack of skill gap and they've put so many host friendly weapons into play that skill isn't one of the larger factors. I'll put 8,10,12 DMR headshots into someone before their shields FINALLY come down and then still have to put more shots into them for them to die only to have some AR scrub pop around and kill me with 3 body shots from cross map with full shields, full health .... really? Been bolt shotted from cross map a couple of times ..... really? Meanwhile it takes me 4 shots point blank with scattershot to kill, a boltshot directly to the head may or may not work, I pummel reflexively now and they have elected to give chasers the holy grail with the stutter step. I really consider Halo4 nothing but COD with shields but .... it has massive potential. As for whoever it was that wanted to 1v1 me; if you live in Tennessee, fine. If not, then no. Not dealing with networking issues that 343 has failed to resolve. According to a direct post from one of their forum mods, their networking algorithims favor some connections over others and it has nothing to do with speeds. At least if we're in the same state, we get a good idea of what's really going on. I have friends of mine on the MLG circuit and I 1v1 them so I'm more than happy to do that if we're in the same state.
  6. They need to quit juggling the games and acting like bad kids.
  7. Yeah, k/d should definitely have an effect on player score.
  8. H4=No skill anymore. Skill has been taken almost entirely out of the game as THE factor for winning.
  9. Aim assist needs to GTFO. Get skills for kills, not this noob friendly crap.
  10. 15 seconds. Either play the game or back out. IDC if you're texting, talking on the phone or whatever.
  11. It'll be another %.00010 complete project.
  12. This game isn't even 1/2 complete IMO. Friggin horrible. Why is 343 purposely trying to destroy the Halo name?
  13. lol this is the most noob friendly game I've ever seen. The "balancing out the playing field" is a joke. They've beefed the scrub weapons exponentially while leaving the precision weapons the same. That's pathetic. Does it make the game a bit more challenging? Sure, AR chasers now rule the world especially with the stagger step *more noob friendly BS* added into the mix.
  14. I like the kill cam. It lets me know 2 things. 1) What happened and where it came from if I didn't know 2) It shows you your connection to that player. If it looks like the player is disoriented on meth, bad connection. If it looks like a normal kill, you have a good connection with that player.
  15. I don't use it but I see nothing wrong with the mechanics of it.
  16. Just hoping they have the common sense to have social and ranked play lists and I definitely agree with having the rank rating visible and not just on Waypoint.
  17. Agreed, the maps by and large have no direction to them and are poorly designed for the game types. In the previous versions the maps were designed for a set game type. In this version they're trying to do 1 size fits all.
  18. Saying there weren't tactics in the earlier versions of Halo is essentially admitting that you had no idea what you were doing when running with a team.
