  1. I think you should be able to fall twice as far as in Reach. Any more, and Spartans armor may as well deflect all bullets. I'd rather have immersion and realism than to whine about how I stupidly jumped and died. In Reach, we could fall from the ledge on the Boneyard Frigate. Now, in theater mode, that's a LONG way down. I mean, in first person, it looks like 15 feet, but it's more like 30. We can fall farther than you think.
  2. Since Halo 4 is XP driven, you might lose a bunch of XP for it.
  3. Pretty useless. If this had real troll info, it'd be nice. I vote lock.
  4. And the little details that me and Sykowolf talked about like the Jackal walking in a realistic manner, the Elites shoving the Grunts, those little "real" moments are the best.
  5. Possibly dragging it across the vehicle does more damage than in Reach, though? I hated how I could drag it across and still not get the kill. And in BTB if they had both Wraiths/scorpions, all laser charge went into those. One laser shot should kill the driver, damage the vehicle.
  6. Google it and you will see pictures of ALL of them.
  7. Don't let me go to sleep...please, don't let me.

  8. And here we have another cryptic post. Yet it is within "this" thread.
  9. Halo was never the same. Honetly, if it was, fans would get bored.
  10. Flame wars aren't arguments, they are insults. Like "You suck!" "No, your mom!" That is more of a flame war/battle than we have had...
  11. Ryu didn't notice this until now! Ryu...Ryu must not break his jaw with the smiles.
  12. You must speak. Ryu will die without the funny and serious humor of Mr. Payne.
  13. It'd be nice, but it's not what Halo 4 has in store for us. It will still take skill, and boosting isn't easy, if what I think is correct.
  14. I can imagine it will be out of some playlists, but not any maps. They can't set there and limit something you spent time and SP getting, just because the Jet-Pack can get to the rockets faster. Anyone can use Jet-Pack, so it's fair.
  15. ...I'll always remember the day my font and color altered your username to what it is now. :'(
  16. By now, most of you have seen how the Jet-Pack is returning and the Splaser/Sniper shots. Well, I have noticed a couple of things that some of you may not have. First, the Jet-Pack: Well, the old SO video shows a Spartan using a Jet-Pack. This Jet-Pack looks like it works just like it's Reach counter-part, i.e. you can supposedly use it in bursts like in Reach. This is due to the fact that if it was only a simple jump boost, the Spartan in the video wouldn't have the "fire" coming out for the whole time he is shown. I would be sad if it was like Samus' thruster upgrade in Metroid Prime 3. (Just a double jump.) It is very likely that the amount of time you can use it is cut down a bit. It may even recharge slower, but who knows? All of this is inferred from those videos. None of this is known to be fact, but it is the best explanation as to how it worked the way we saw it in that video. The Splaser: We all saw the laser, and how different it sounded. I loved the new sound and look. You might not have noticed the amount of charge it had. It had 75% charge before the shot, and 50% after. This means the new 4 shot limit is back. It is likely for balancing reasons, but this also throws out the debate of "better tech" being the reason for 5 shots in Halo 3. What do you guys think of all this?
  17. Exactly, the Armor Effects aren't FOR realism. They are to add a bit of comical customization and fun.
  18. Exactly, we had our chance to fix it. Then people blame Bungie for listening to their fans. I think it's, at the very least, unfair. Let's hope, this time, that now that 343 has been able to do something about the complaints, they can give people what they want. Jet-Pack is useless for a small 2 second stint, but I'm sure taking out about a third or half of the time it had in Reach would do nicely.
  19. Well, by boost, I mean it isn't like a double jump, but more of a Reach Jet-Pack with a lot less juice. Meaning you probably can't cross Asylum with it anymore. But you still have your "control" over how much juice you use at a time. I'm willing to bet it takes longer to recharge as well. What I wonder is, why when the Beta of Reach was announced, and they showed the Jet-Pack, everyone loved it. They loved it IN the Beta. So bungie didn't nerf it. Then they whine later about it. It isn't Bungie's fault. They gave us a Beta to test and inform them of bad ideas and mechanics. WE were the main deciding factor in how the AA's work today. So it's OUR fault. But we still can't blame ourselves because it's in a gamer's nature to blame the game or developers. So called "gamers" these days...
  20. Finally someone who realizes the point of AE's.
  21. I'm going to be brutally honest here. Most maps that have good positions that you can defend, Jet-Pack won't help anyone take it. Jet-Pack had many, MANY counters. It is up to you to use them. One counter was to just shoot the guy. He can't immediately land, nor can he maneuver out of your shots. Chances are, you can kill him. Just because he gets the drop on you doesn't mean his Jet-Pack needs to be taken, it means you need to be more aware. That's all. It's not the Jet-Packer's fault that guy got to one shot. If you can't get him, use the Jet-Pack yourself. He likely isn't used to aerial battles. Use that against him. Jet-Pack literally takes nothing from the game. You just have to *look* for it. You can't expect him to fall in your lap. All in all, Jet-Pack isn't flawed as much as y'all think, y'all just don't watch for it enough. Remember, watch the skies. Besides, 343 have nerfed it for Halo 4. Be happy you can play without worrying about the skies as much.
