Personally i love Hemmorrhage. What it could use is a few variants, such as some featuring falcons or scorpions as the power vehicles instead of the wraith. I also severely dislike the forged BTB maps like trident and Wayont except for Abridged which was brilliant and is, of course, no where to be seen in the playlist anymore. I am thankful that 343 has stopped including community maps as much as they did in last summer and fall...

Also, 343, please revise the axial pitch and yaw for objects. In reach, once you rotated an object so it was no longer on the maps 90 degree axis you could no longer accurately pitch and yaw it. Essentially, you need to make it so that the objects rotational axis moves with the object. In reach, it is nearly impossible to make vertical adjustments to anything that is no longer on the 90 degree rotation snap. -

The highest rank is inheritor... As explained in Primordium, the flood was a unifying agent designed by Precursors (which the captive was not, it was a grave-mind) to unify all life forms and intelligence to essentially create super beings. It didn't have the desired effect as it scared the crap out of all sentient life and they all tried their best to destroy it. -

I take back what i said that there are not any good small forge maps, i haven't played TS or MLG is a long time so i've never played on those. Hemorrhage is a vehicle based map. The point is to control the entire map using vehicles, tactics, and teamwork. I've noticed no lack of cover on the sides of the map when i am sniping. That being said, there certainly could be more, hemorrhage is tailored for abilities like sprint and evade, so that you can quickly cover the distances between cover without drawing the other teams attention.

The funny part is that i was kidding. I really couldn't care less what Halo 4 is like as long as it is as fun as the last 4 games. I bought anniversary the day it came out because i LOVED Halo CE AND its game play. Quote "Spartans wouldn't carry knives. They're 2-ton super-soldiers. Anything they cant punch through would probable just ruin a knife. Unrealistic, impractical, not a spartan." What soldier wouldn't carry a knife!? You do know that knives are used for things besides killing right? Should chief not carry any form of communication just because hes a badass?... The comments were humorous.

I'm all for allot of pre-made maps and i agree that there are not any good competitive forge maps (with the exceptions of hemorrhage and paradiso which happens to be my favorites). Having said this, i am also and AVID forger, i loved the concept of forge world and would be perfectly satisfied if 343 simply expanded reach FW and added alot more forgable items. For example, how about a cave, a mountain side, some islands like paradiso except smaller and clumped together, maybe a large grassy plain (very little storage space required if you used subtle repeating patterns in the grass and such).

I hope 343 S**** on you guys who do nothing but complain about reach and take it to another level. you say, "I want the classic Halo back" or "no more cool additions to the games". Why cant you understand that Halo will die if we all go back to playing a Halo 2/3 type game!? reach was a DRASTIC improvement; it added cool new elements that revolutionized the game play all kinds of other cool stuff. The second comment in this thread said that reach made everything look bulky and grungy. WTF WTF WTF is wrong with you. Reach had realistic graphics, it basically took Xbox 360 graphics to the peak of what they can be! Assassinations were my favorite addition to the game, they add a whole new layer of tactics to multi player and even to campaign on harder difficulty. Why dont all you A**H**** go play Halo three and stop complaining about reach and how Halo 4 should be Halo 3 with a different campaign. You're P***ing me off so bad im about to leave this whole damn forum!

All we know so far is that the jet pack WILL make a return in halo 4, I like this because I thought jetpack was pretty realistic and completely NOT FOR NOOBS! What 343 should do is get rid of abilities and do this. 1. Bring back equipment. The jetpack should be available for pick up in the campaign and on the multiplayer maps, like a weapon. It woud have limited fuel (like a real one) and be useless after it was used up. This would also be true for drop shield and some of the best equipment items from halo 3, like power drain and portable cover. 2. Sprint and evade should be taken for granted! What super soldier can't run or dive out of harms way. I way to implement this would be to use the left bumper (or different controls) to initiate a dive or sprint. Holding the button for .5 seconds would start you running while tapping if would cause you to dive in which ever direction you are moving the left stick. Obviously the distance dived wouldn't be a far as evade, maybe half the distance, maybe More like the rolling you can do in mass effect. Use of this new mobility would be limited. 2 or three dives would use it oil as would 75 m of sprinting. Armor lock (if it returns(hopefully not)) should ONLY be available in BTB playlist, it is simply to annoying in team slayer or FFA when you can out maneuver a guy only to have him armor lock and deny you your kill. This is especially annoying if they AL when you sword lung, then melee and go back in to AL. Agree?

A flood fight playlist should be more like COD zombies. The waves keep getting increasingly harder instead of resetting like in covenant firefight. The maps would have to be tailored so they could be worked, instead of camped like beachhead and the halo reach firefight maps.- 68 replies

General: 1. No budget (for maps which cannot be submitted to MLG) 2. No limits on structural objects like walls, building blocks, bridges, etc. Environment: 1. Instead of having special effects like in reach, give us the ability to change the time of day (Night, Dawn, High noon, and Dusk) 2. Weather. Let us decide if its snowing, raining, windy, cloudy, etc. 3. Water. There should be an option to fill depressions with water, like the puddles on hemmorhage in reach. 4. Fire. Patches of fire should be available to place in forge, ones that will kill if you stand in them like in CEA. It is out of the question to be able to terraform maps, so i wont even ask:) Weapons: 1. Individual magazines should be available in forge, so we can locate stashes of ammo away from the spawn for actual weapon. 2. Ammo crates. Boxes to dump magazines and grenades in. Duh. 3. Weapon racks. The reach campaign wall racks that you could take weapons from (covenant to) and i couldn't believe they weren't included in forge. If this is included in Halo 4 forge, the editor could select a slot on the rack, and then select the weapon/ammo to be placed there. Structure: 1. WE NEED MORE CURVED OBJECTS! This would make for some really cool stuff. For every object (block 1x2) there should be a option to curve it. 2. Include a much greater diversity of building blocks, reach didn't have very many and this frustrated me allot. 3. All objects place able in forge should be destructible. I can under stand that the Xbox 360 does not have the processing power to make everything breakable but pre-specified objects should be. Obviously metal walls could only be destroyed by tanks though. 4. All objects should have composition options. If you place a 1x5 piece you should be able to make it metal, wood, or composite, that latter being indestructible and the default option. Wood would be limited to a few pieces since this in the future... Specific objects should have a glass option. I liked breaking the glass in CEA so i could toss grenades though windows and floors:) 5. Copy, Paste, and merge options. We should be able to select a group of objects in adjoining one another (like selecting multiple files using a blue drag-able box on a computer), hit copy, and then be able to paste them elsewhere (a inverse selection option would be available to make symmetrical maps a breeze to make). A merge option would forge all selected pieces into one, allowing it to be moved as a whole. Other 1. All vehicles experienced in the campaign should be available in forge, like transport warthogs, grenade launcher falcons, FR shade turrets, civilian vehicles, pelicans, etc (using reaches example). 2. Undo options should be available so we have something to fall back on if we accidentally delete something important.I've spent over 300 hours in Reaches forge and all these ideas occurred to me WHILE i was building something Tell me what you think! -
I have absolutely no problem with Reaches physics engine, it made me feel like i was actually there, on reach, fighting covenant, whereas the rest of the game engine "removed me from reality". You guys have to admit that you don't really feel grounded in the other halo games. Impacts are more realistic, moving objects inflict realistic damage, etc. I hope Halo 4 takes reaches engine to a new level, even further from your "Halo" engines. On a completely different note, hopefully Chief will get some new armor, like the mark 12 combat skin 343 guilty spark mentions at the end of the first floor on "The Library". I've heard mention in this forum of cortana going rampant, this seems pretty realistic and i don't think it is to out of the question for Halo 4 to introduce us to a Forerunner "Ancilla". If this occurs, Cortana could possibly transformed into and Immortal AI (Ancilla), because, as said in Halo: Cryptum, Ancillas do not die. An interesting update where weapons are concerned would be the ability to swap ammo between weapons using the same power source or caliber of ammunition (The Magnum and DMR both used 7.62 mm rounds in reach) Just some opinions PS. If they use Classic halo weapons in Halo 4, i hope they bring back the SMG:)

I say screw ALL UNSC weapons! Hopefully chief just lands with a limited amount of ammo and maybe a BR and AR, possibly a warthog to. But after using up all the ammo, they are done, and he has to find some bad ass forerunner weapons where ever hes going. I am tired of the BR and thought the DMR was more realistic, so lets totally revamp the arsenal here 343i, we need some variation... please?

I agree that sprint, jet pack, and evade (my favorite one) should make a return. maybe active camp to since it is mentioned in multiple books. What he means by undo is have a control z option forge. Aka you can reverse whatever action you just performed, such as deleting something you didn't want to. Glue would allow you to merge multiple objects so they act like one. This way, you can move a building you made without transporting the pieces individually.- 23 replies
