I can do that for him: Sprint- Purpose: to increase the speed of the game. Result: people escape more often, spawn trapping is easier, game is slowed down, spartans are slowed. Armor Lock- Purpose: To allow people to survive against vehicles and power weapons. Result: Whenever a person is about to die, go into armor lock and delay or escape their death. Active Camp- Purpose: To allow steathly gameplay. Result: People camp flags and objectives in corners. People hide in corners to assassinate others. Jetpack- Purpose: To add another dimension to gun fights. Result: Added another dimension to fights. This one actually worked. Hologram- Purpose: To confuse the enemy and trap them. Result: Noobs are confused, good players shoot you anyway. Drop Shield- Purpose: To protect yourself and your teammates and heal yourself in combat. Result: when people are in trouble, players drop the shield and prolong their death. People also drop shields around objectives to camp and defend them. Evade- Purpose: To dodge bullets and give you an advantage in a firefight. Result: People in low health evade out of death. Gives crazy mobility across the map. Pro players choose it over all others because of the movement it allows. None of the abilities make it easy to kill others. None of them are offensive abilities. All of them cause reach to slow down, because it takes long to kill the users. Thats why they need to go, reach was already slow with bloom adding AAs makes the time to kill soooooooo long games last forever.

No, not like a central area, thats kinda lame. Like this: The guys playing talk pretty retarded, but it looks like alot of fun.

How would you feel about adding zero gravity maps to Halo4? Ive seen a few in reach, and they look like fun. It would add a new dimension to battle, and it would be rather unique to Halo since most FPS games dont take place in a science future. I meant to have Low gravity maps, like this:

HaloCEA AR, H3 BR, H3 carbine, H2 scarab gun, H3 sniper, Reachs plasma repeater tweaked, ODST silenced pistol and silenced SMG
-
I love them both. If they would just tweak the damage of the needle rifle it could stand with the DMR in reach. I could see them both in Halo4 since they perform their roles differently.
-
No, they should not return. Armor abilities COULD have been really cool. They COULD have made reach the best game ever. Instead, most of them slowed down the game and pissed off the players. I still get angry at bungie for screwing them up.
-
Insanebear, halo is going to change. Nobody wants a CoD style of titles were you keep paying for the same experience. Unfortunately the changes made in Reach were mostly wrong and not thought through or implemented correctly. We need to put our trust in 343i, that they can change and add to Halo in ways that makes the core game mechanics stand out and shine. From HaloCEA and the changes theyre making to Reach's matchmaking, I feel like they know what theyre doing and we can trust them.
-
No man, Im talking about the interviews and information Bungie employees gave out before reach >.> They said Reach was going to be their best game yet, that they were working long hours to make the game amazing, and the campaign was a fullblown war. Obviously none of those things were true and Reach kinda sucks. I love the other halos, I was never attacking them.
-
Man im getting psyched for this game already! Its great to hear how much work theyre doing, hopefully its the real thing and not the crap Bungie gave before reach >.<
-
Ugh i hate the reach maps. None of them are fun to play or make me want to vote for them. Usually I just choose the one that is the least annoying. I went back to Halo3 for awhile and suddenly I was having a tremendous amount of fun and couldnt wait for valhalla or snowbound to come up. Now when i see swordbase I shudder inside.
-
Thanks man. Night fall in reach was just so painful I didnt want it to return. And most people I know would actually pay to have RedvsBlue and Rooster Teeth be part of Halo lol, but to each his own.
-
If halo changes that much it will become a clone of Gears. Id rather have halo stay as halo and Gears stay as gears so we can enjoy both series.
-
totally agree bro, you wont find any of that stuff on my list.
-
Again, it could be an option in the controller menu >>> turn on/off ground assassinations, turn on/off air assassinations. That makes everyone happy.
-
Um the animations sound great, and would make the game much more fluid. But I couldnt read that massive paragraph xD I had the same feeling when I made my wishlist.
-
Invasion should expand to include scarab and phantoms! BUT, we should be able to see the "rating" or "skill" or the pilot. If nothing else, BF3 has told me to always drive the transport vehicles cuz the noob driver/pilot will kill you.
-
Totally and completely disagree. The DMR has a totally different feel from the pistol. I played HaloCE on the computer, and people would get scared when I joined. I could take on tanks and win with that pistol. How you can compare the 3 shot kill to the DMR is beyond me. Your being really condescending. For some reason you just assume I suck and dont understand what im talking about. If you want to argue about bloom, lets make a new thread and have at it. But the point of this one is adding ideas to Halo4, not discussing reach's point of anguish.
-
well if you want my opinion then.... xP The idea is great! Someone said having a difference between a press and push is actually a great way of being strategical. Its actually used in Gears3, with running and sprinting. I hope 343i sees this and makes a game based on your idea. But please, not part of Halo or H4. Offense: The push back isnt effective against anything, maybe splatters. But good players will just avoid splatters anyway. Radar jamming is a useful tool, but it would promote camping again. If you hide in a flag area, and use jammer whenever an enemy runs into your area, they will have no idea where you are and you can easily get the first shots. Defense: Cloaking or cammo CANNOT be part of AAs. It makes camping easy, especially if the other team doesnt know theres an invisible person around. But invincibility must return. Instead it should do 2 things, it should only last 1 second, so it takes skill to use. And it must use up all of your shields, so if your shields are consumed you cant use it. This stop the annoying armorlocking people do now and makes surviving a rocket or splatter a fair tradeoff. Mobility: This is unbalanced vs any other combo. Evade and sprinting is useful in EVERY fight. From dodging tanks, to DMR battles, to getting the sniper first. Either it must be inherent to every player, or not included at all. Aerial: Long jump sounds like a great addition. People who fail will know it was solely their fault, and it would hilarious to watch people sail off and die against a wall. "Fails of the Weak here I come!" I personally love jet packs, but I dont think it should be an AA. That or it must be implimented in a different fashion. Not trying to shoot down your ideas here man, just want to refine it. Im trying to think of what abilities, in halo or not, that would make great and balanced abilities. And its always easier to shot down ideas that come up with them.

Okay, bullet spread HAS always been in Halo games. But an expanding redicule or "bloom" was introduced in reach. The fact is, people steal kills from you. Its frustrating and happens every game. I leave with a feeling of being cheated, that I did the work while my teammate gets the reward. Ive been trying to put this into words for the last few days but its hard to pinpoint exactly why i dont like bloom. Its like, I cant trust my gun. If i want to make a difference in the game, there is no weapon that I can rely on. I dont know if im doing something wrong when I lose a DMR fight, or if the random generator screwed me out of it. There have been times, when I clearly out played an enemy, got the first shots on him, and then he proceeds to kill me. It is soooo frustrating and makes me never want to play the game again. I think thats what reach felt like to alot of people. Theres no reliable way to kill people on every map. Not the pistol, AR, DMR, needlerifle, plasma pistol, repeater, or even the needler. Any mechanic that delivers that feeling to gamers needs to die. Or at the very least change. Its funny that you mention trigger spamming, since I see that more in Reach than Halo3. People tried to land every single shot. In reach most people fire as fast as possible, even to their detriment. Especially at the MLG level. Go watch them play at the national championship on MLG TV, nobody paces their shots. They actually removed bloom since everyone hated it so much. Actually, they only people who ive found who like bloom, are on this forum. Not youtube, RL, in chats, the game, or people ive met online. I also find it strange that you think the better marksman benefits from bloom. In Halo3, i could never out BR a level 50 (true 50). But it reach, I can get a lucky bloom spread and kill him. To me thats totally unfair, since he is clearly a better shot than me. Another reason why its a bad mechanic.

Will Halo 3 be removed from Xbox Live once Halo 4 Launches?
SixWaysToSunday replied to Konshens's topic in Halo 3 + ODST
Not until the next xbox comes out and most people transfer to it. Thats why H2 went down, because they shutdown ALL original xbox servers. There are actually binding contracts that state game servers cannot be taken down individually. Thats why any 360 game you go back too will still have its servers up. Otherwise, H3 would have been taken down a long time ago due to the expenses of maintaining servers. Even with how popular it still is. -
This looks like the standard for Halo games, use part of the last games engine. Otherwise, you could end up with games in the series as different as CoD4 and Mw2.
-
I feel as if Mobility is unbalanced. Being able to evade and sprint means you can have more map presences and spawn trap since you can get there faster than the other groupings. Also, it has no downside as the others do. What are you sacrificing for that amazing burst of speed? The first shot? But I find aerial to be flat out funny with its "killer jump!" I think your on to something with this combination, it feels halo to me. But I think the combinations need more work, right now they dont feel like the right parings or which aspect has been correctly chosen.

If you check my link in my signature, youll see my wishlist for Halo4. Its rather big, but it really affects all parts of the game without any ideas that would actually change the style of the game. I looked at it and thought "How could it be better?"

Assassinations need to come back. It drives players to play smart and try to flank opponents instead of stupidly running into gunfire. What needs to be done is give an option to turn off, for the people in this forum and for Pros. But most people like it, since it adds much needed flair to the game. And you dont need a knife to kill people, MC can easily do actions that are just as cool without needing some 2 inch steel. What should also happen is unlocking new assassinations, since reachs became stale after watching them over and over again.

Premade for competitive, Forge for casual. Really. There arent any amazing competitive forge maps, but things like the flushing toliet or Speed halo clearly outclass anything a company can create for fun. So for me: 1 large map with paste-able backdrop for forge, especially if terrain is given as objects. And the rest premade.
