In the book Ghost of Onyx you get very detailed information about Spartan III training, equipment, and medical changes. Since their program came after Halsey's S-II and they were trained by a spartan II (Kurt), they became better base soldiers than the previous generation. Unfortunately they got rather crappy armor and were sent on suicide missions. Thats kinda why the cannon of Reach makes no sense whatsoever. S-IIIs should be faster, stronger, and have a better tactical understanding than non-veteran S-IIs and also have SPI or "camo" armor. Also, this guy goes into better detail than Im willing to at 6AM. Another random fact! The MJOLNIR armor shields are actually stronger and recharge faster than the standard elites. A couple times in the books the Prophets are really confused to see Spartans taking damage on their shields that would straight up kill elites.

Is he a better character in A Fistfull of Arrows? Oh and random fact......Did you know Spartan IIIs are actually stronger and faster than Spartan IIs (unarmored)?

Man I am sooooo glad assassinations are back. Probably my favorite part of Reach, even when getting animated xD

Did you know that the Pillar of Autumn is a type of ship that keeps better structural integrity from plasma damage? Thats why Cortana chose it for MC on his secret infiltration mission. Im loving this thread btw, thanks for making it!

Very true, this happens for every game ever made. It happens every year in the CoD community and can be seen in the MLG community as they all beg for Halo2 back. Hopefully our gaming communities will start to evolve and understand that each game should be different than what came before it, and that games should be graded based on how fun and polished they are.

I seriously doubt Im going to play much reach now that bleedthrough is gone again. I cannot STAND vanilla reach and having to deal with double beatdowns again just makes me want to play BF3 or halo3. Im really pissed at 343i for removing evade as well, for some reason both developers seem to hate that AA while its always been my favorite. So after building a large amount of good reputation with me for anniversary, the TU, and a host of other updates theyve really wrecked it by taking away a great change and removing one of favorite parts of the game. Come on 343i >=(

Actually I rather like the Reach sniper because it allows players access to another power weapon. There is still an incredible skill gap, but casual players can actually use it instead of having to pass it up. An aspect you missed is the ability for multi-kills. I imagine Kampy would cry if the sniper had a smaller clip, as its perfect now for skilled players to exterminate a team. But I would really like the human sniper to only be anti-infantry and a possible forerunner or covenant to be anti-vehicle. That way we dont have the massively OP vehicles like Reach's.

Pink Lemonade the minute you started spouting the PC elitist BS you completely discredited yourself. Mature people understand that each platform has its unique positives and negatives.

The "Official" What do you want in the Halo 4 Ranking system.
SixWaysToSunday replied to Herodanny's topic in Halo 4
Well what about several ranking systems designed to do show different skill sets? I think there should 3 systems; level, rank, and rating. Level shows how long you have been playing the game, an experienced based system like Reach where anything and everything increases your level. Rank is an overall numerical player ranking that shows the individual skill. Kills, assists, objective playing (like flag capping, defending, or assisting) add to this numerical value while deaths and betrayals subtract. Rating is based on each playlist and shows how much you win. Based on the Halo 2 system but using Z-A, this strictly shows how much you win in the playlist and therefore how "good" you are at the playlist. Each of these systems have their own weaknesses and strengths, but I believe putting them together will really create a good picture of each player's skill. -
Did you know that Scarab tanks are actually powered by giant Lekgolo colonies?

Thought there were originally 7 halos making 6 left (not counting the one the ark partly remade for 343 guilty spark).

Any ideas for new weapons that can be used in Halo 4? POST HERE
SixWaysToSunday replied to A hil's topic in Halo 4
id love a plasma pistol launcher, so if duel wielding comes back you could mess vehicles and enemies up. -
Ive played games like that, its beyond unimaginable when you fire a shotty pointblank at someone and then they kill you.

I thought there were 6 halos left.

yay! What time is this at? I dont watch G4 much.
-
Okay thanks, that really helps. I originally thought you meant that every weapon would have this mechanic and I could understand how that worked for BRs. But seeing as its used to reduce randomness in shotguns, it makes more sense.
-
Totally agree and love your idea. Forests would be a great place to fight, especially if there are limited areas for warthogs, ghost, and mongeese. Only thing, there must either be little vegetation to hide in or player colors stand out to dissuade camping.
-
There should definitely be 1v1 playlist in ranked, maybe with specifically designed maps for it. We should still have forge after all (maybe with COLOR!) so its totally feasible. If you ever go on twitchTV and watch Ninja or any other pro, you can see how much they are challenged to 1v1s. Putting that in MM would allow players to gain important skills and maybe get recognized by pros.
-
I wouldnt mind it being pushed back. Id rather have halo4 delayed to ensure its a top quality game than dealing with the issues that Reach and CoD have.
-
Actually, I would love a LMG in Halo4, balanced of course. Im a sucker for big guns that you can just hold the trigger on =P

Sorry Ive been away for so long, but thanks Twin. For some reason I saw you as the champion of bloom and thought you were for it. Dunno why though, sorry about that. Could you explain the "projectile has parallel error" alittle more? I dont quite grasp what its function is or how it affect the gameplay of the past halos. I too have found that casual players dont care about bloom and some dont even know its there. Alot of the guys I play with ask me what TU stands for >.< not saying their stupid, just that alot of players dont know whats going on under the hood for reach. Id love to help out your research but Im not good at reach at all. Everyone in the forums could probably destroy in a match, so yeah.
-
Alright Twin why on earth are you getting angry? Because I have done nothing to you and your attacking me as a person and a player. That is totally uncalled for and has really pissed me off. However, Im not going to take your bait and sink to your level and will continue to talk about bloom or error angle or whatever other name the mechanic in Reach has. I stated in my OP that bloom has been in every game. Again, what Ive been trying to discus is that the Trilogy mechanic and Reach's are different versions that affect the game and players differently. I have a pretty good view point on the mechanic considering I make a point of playing with everyone from noob to Pro. I do my best to listen to how others feel about the game, then take my own experiences and make an informed opinion. And I have yet to see a sound argument that doesnt have serious holes about why reach's version should return. Now you can make that argument with good supporting evidence, or you can freak out again.
-
Ive been too busy to reply, sorry. Twin, can you really explain to me how bloom makes halo a better experience? Because I cant think of a sound argument for it.
-
I dont understand why you think using the AR/pistol is noob while the double melee isnt. To me, having the ability to run up and double hit an opponent is not okay when Halo focuses on gun skills and map movement.
