Official!!! Halo 4's 8 different armor abilities.
JHCRANE 14 replied to JHCRANE 14's topic in Halo 4
I also heard that regen stops incoming fire. So it is kind of like drop shield meets health regenerator. Which seems op to me. -

I see what you are talking about with the jet pack at the end of the video. It looks very similar to the one in reach in my opinion. Do you really think it was nerfed? -

Ok, I guess what I ment to say was I don't believe I saw jet pack being used at all during this video. I am pretty sure they were all thruster packs. However, I could be wrong. -

NO!!!! That is the thruster pack. Jet pack is still in there. Watch the video in the beginning and see what I am talking about. Thruster pack (what you are talking about.) Replaced the evade abilitly. Jet pack is still jet pack. Fixed it, thanks. So my loadout will be......... Sensor- for extended range on your radar sensor AA regen- AA regenerate faster. Active Camo- because it's awesome. -
http://www.gameranx....footage-at-pax/ Ok guys, I don't know if this has been posted or not but I found this video with some really good insight to Halo 4's Armor Abilities. It is a video of CTF on a new map called Exile. More importantly early in the video you can see where the player is customizing his spartan and we get some great looks at what the new armor abilities are. Thruster pack- "Enables a powerful burst of movement offering the ability to evade or close the gap." This is the replacement for evade in Halo reach. Promeathean Vision- "Allows users to detect enemy signitures thru walls and other hard surfaces." Completly new to the halo series. This is sure to be used alot. Hologram- "Allows users to generate a nearly identical holographic decoy to decieve enemies during combat." Pretty much the same as Halo Reach. Jet Pack- "Allows users limited flight through a vertical lift propulsion system similar to that of EVA resntry packs." Pretty much the same as Halo Reach. Hard-light shield- "Allows users to generate a protective barrier of hard light which stops most small arms fire and some explosives." This takes the place of armor lock and looks very interesting. Active Camouflage- "Allows users to generate a visable effect astonishingly close to invisibility." Pretty much the same as Halo Reach. Sentry Turret- "An automated turret which can be deployed to defend it's user or command a key battlefield checkpoint." Completly new to the Halo series. I like the idea of this. Regen- "Allows users to realese a short-range energy field that heals any nearby spartans." This is a slightly different version of the health regenerator from Halo 3. Instead of it being a piece of equipment is an on point armor abilitly NICE!!!! Watch the video and let me know what you think. I can't wait for this game to get here. P.S. The new Pulse Grenade is awesome.

If I am not mistaken what you are talking about is the limited edition. There will be unlockable bounus with that one, but only thru preorder. The regular version does not come with extras whether you had or had not preorderd. I preordered my limited edition weeks ago. Get yours now while you still can.

I am not really sure about the full story. I know it is about the forerunners being explained, but other than that I don't know.
-
Ok, so the more I look at it, it appears that it is actually plasma grenades not hologram. So this means that sticky nades are no longer a default item and are now very coveted. This will feel very wierd.

I can't believe nobody has commented on this yet. I thought this was a neat idea that had not really been disscussed. Am I late to the party on this or is this something people have not really noticed? Just think of the possibilities. Being cloaked and then sending out a hologram is just an awesome thought. Watch the top video at 7:10 and let me know what you guys think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YB2q2Re4beg&feature=related Sorry, I tried to post all three videos at once and it didn't let me. Here is videos one and two. Video #3 is up top.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWRzqmFZ1ng&feature=relmfu If any of you have not seen these videos please watch them. If you have seen these videos I have a question? Can you get an armor ability from an ordinance drop? If you watch the 3rd video at exactly 7:10 you will clearly see that the player has promethean vision equipped but at the top of the screen you can see what appears to be a hologram by pressing L on the D-Pad. I don't think it is a permanent switch, but more a one time shot. Just think about it. You can see through walls and send out a decoy, or you could be cloaked and then see through walls. So I would see it like this, using one time shot ordinance drops. Hologram = 1 Hologram normal duration and effect. Cloak= 15 seconds of cloaking, slightly slower transition in and out of cloaking. Promethean Vision= 3 seconds of promethean vision with normal effect. Hardlight Shield= 1 Hardlight Shield normal duration and effect. Jet Pack= 5 seconds of flight. What did I miss? What do you guys think? Has anyone else noticed this? Good day Halo nation!!!

I don't know but the new enemies remind me alot of of the ones from Crysis 2. Especially the way they sound. Overall though it looks good.

To make forge better they need to give you unlimited money. Also they need to give you the ability to spawn enemy location and change the color of buildings and objects.

It almost looks like mass effect. Like a super elite from halo made a baby with a reaper from ME. I know it's not because you can see the 343 logo in the pic, but whatever it is it looks cool.

Bloom doesn't bother me at all. I just look at it from a recoil point of view. All weapons have recoil so there for all weapons have bloom. Bloom makes it feel more like your really using a firearm. Without bloom and recoil it is just to easy to kill people holding down the trigger. There is not really any timing or pacing of shot. However, either way I could really care less. Bloom or no bloom it doesn't effect me that much.
-
I don't really see where bloom makes that big of a difference. Yes, there is a change but just for my game style it is no big deal. I still don't really understand why so many people have that big of a proplem with bloom I thought most people would have just gotten over it. I doesen't make the game any harder or easier in my opinion just slightly different when you fire your weapons. I know I am in the minority on this, but I just don't get it. Maybe I don't play multi-player enough to see everybody elses point on why they hate bloom. A good weekend to everybody!!!!!

Well as long as the campain is strong thats my only issue. Multiplayer is cool, but that is not what keeps me around. As long as they get the story and gameplay right I will be happy. The things that bother you like bloom and stuff like that dosen't really bother me. More or less it would be dropping the story and not feeling like a worthy Halo game. However, 343 seems to be strong and I believe the Halo franchize is in good hands.

I love forge world and I have created some really unique maps. 343 has said that they are keeping forge world and improving on it. So hopefully there will be a little something for everybody.

Ok, for example my strategy is you never see me on your radar you have to physcially see me to get me. I pretty much always remain crouched so when I am moving I don't show up on radar. With the addition of AA's specifically active camo I can enhance this even futher. I can remain crouched and when I need to move faster (walk at normal speed) I can use active camo to hide my movement and prevent me from being so easily detected. Most players always walk at normal speed or faster and don't really use acitve camo so they show up all the time on radar. I just remain crouched and when I detect enemy movement I activate my camo and follow that specific dot. My playstyle is a moving camper which sound like an oxymoron, but it is to remain hidden on radar taking advantage of unsuspecting players. I realize it may not be the strongest playstyle out there but it is fun and when your packing a shotgun or an energy sword it can be effective. I played this way in Halo 3 also, but it was a little easier to be spotted on radar. With the addition of active camo in Reach it has really opened up my gameplay. When people start catching onto my playstyle and try to find the moving camping cloaker I switch to hologram, but that is a whole different setup and strategy . I play the deception rolls in Reach and love every minute of it. Everybody else can have the mobilitiy AA's like jet pack, sprint, and evade there just flyies in the web. I don't know if these are actual strategies, but it works for me and I have fun and success with it. Hope this helped and correct me if I am wrong. A good day to all.

Halo 4, To Be Or Not To Be: First Person Vehicle Option?
JHCRANE 14 replied to DaveAtStateFarm's topic in Halo 4
As long as you have the choice to go between 1st and 3rd person view like in skyrim. Thats fine, but don't make permanent.- 37 replies

Nope, just my opinion. The first Halo was the best. Halo 2 and 3 were good but could have been better. OSDT and Reach are my favorites by far (besides the first one of course.)
-
That may be true, but all I am saying is that the gameplay seems pretty much the same to me. The TU didn't make any huge changes that I really noticed. It has not made me like it more or less. With or without the TU the game is just as fun for me to play either way.
-
Yes, I did. However, Reach campain is my favorite besides the original Halo CE. Overall I have really enjoyed ever Halo game I have ever played. Both campain and multiplayer, but I have always been more of a co-op campian and firefight kind of guy. Halo Reach and the AA's is what really got me into online multiplayer.
-
Then it just goes to show the difference in gameplay and style between people. I loved the campain and had a blast with it. If you didn't have fun with it then thats fine to each there own. Hopefully Halo 4 will be the best Halo ever. I know they can't please everbody, but if they could make both me and you happy with it then it should work because our gaming styles seem to be polar opposites.
