Im not mad that halo is changing things. im mad about the things that it has changed too much or gotten rid of. Why lose the 1-50 rank system? hopefully 343 fixes this Why over power every player with AA? in halo 4 i hope they manage to make map control important again. in halo reach you start out with a dmr and whatever power up you want so there isnt much reason to go look for weapons or power ups on the map. I expect 343 to add new things I just want them to do it right and keep things balanced and focus on skill not keeping everybody happy. Halo has always been about skill

Then you probably just sucked. If you play Halo 3 now then yes the majority of the people online still are good and there is no room for noobs. but that is only because the people on halo 3 now are the dedicated fans who didnt like how reach changed the system.

Really halo 2 and 3 aren't good? Halo 2 revolutionized FPSs halo 2 had millions of fans all ove the world the launch for halo 3 was bigger than any other game ever has been and halo 3 was popular for years after it's release. Halo Reach was fun for about a month and never came close to the fan base of halo 2 or 3

Wow please don't start flaming and watch your tone it does nothing if you get so upset all your swearing does is discredit you How is ranking down silly? If you are in a competitive playlist and your getting beat eveygame then isn't it a good idea to move down and play with people of your own skill level? Without being able to rank down all your rank does is show how long you've played for so why not just have a ranking system that shows total hours played? Becaus this isnt going to separate good and bad players. If all you want to do is have fun then that's what social and custom games are for. But in a competitive playlist people want teammates of equal skill and if the ranking system isnt going to show how high your skill is then it isn't going to match up fair teams. It surprises me that people feel that a number ranking system is bad. Why is it bad? As long as social and casual gamers have a place to play for fun then why should they hate on a competitive ranking system for competitive players? Can somebody please tell me a reason for this! I would also lime to see an arena rank on top of a 1-50 just so that every game you could go back and look at how you did individually and then be able to go online and see you average for the past 25 games or so and then once you get to level 50 you can be put in tier of how good you are compared to the other 50s like top 1%= onyx top 10%= gold top 25%= silver and top 50%= bronze Idk just my idea of what could be a cool feature to add

Sux for you I never wanted custom load outs either I've just been thinking of good ways to use them. 343 has already confirmed custom load outs. So rather than continue to scream no no no no people should start thinking about how to keep a halo feel with the new things 343 introduces. My ideas are my opinion on things that would change halo but keep an even playing field because for each thing I mentioned a drawback so the noob on their first game may not have personalized weapons bit they would still have an even playing field

Even if there isn't a beta I still hope for a demo of multiplayer so I know what I'll be buying

That have denied a beta already. The best we can hope for is a demo to bring back fans who have left the halo community due to reach and heal some old wounds

There are 3 boxes above the gun and weapon ammo in the top right corner. We already know that one of these is for granades this probably means that there are going to be three granade types in h4 frag sticky and a new forerunner or maybe it is frag sticky and an AA? Underneath the right side of the health bar there are 3 small rectangles and since we already know that there will be custom load outs my guess is that these will show your perks or power ups or whatever h4 is going to do to make their custom loadouts different from custom classes. -
There is a reason we've been playing on lockout and midship for so long. It's cause they are many peoples favorites and they were perfect. No spiritual remake is ever the same. Lockout and guardian were both amazing but I'd rather have both because they had the same style but still played very different

I'm not saying screw reach I'm saying base the style on the original classic feel of halo reach had good points sure but it isn't as good as halo 2 or 3s multiplayer In halo 2 and 3 online multiplayer was so much more fun I actually think halo reach has many amazing gametypes in custom games due to the awesomeness of forge world and forge 2.0 One of the things I care most about in h4 is bringing back the 1-50 ranks many old halo fans felt abandonned when reach didn't have this

Reach is a halo title yes. does it play like halo 1-3? no. you dont understand that the title doesnt make a game. its about how the game plays. Reach is a perfectly good game and i had fun playing through the campaign but its the online that is messed up with reach. it quit halos online ranking system it started players off unequally it wasnt master chief (no speed, no hops, no game) the bloom made it a slow game when the other halos have all been fast paced. i changed my style to fit reach for a while look at my GT if you dont believe me but i prefer halo 1-3 any day because i dont have to force myself to play different. to any who say well thats because you dont like stratagey they should know that i like CoD too and that is a hell of a lot more stratagey than reach ever had

AA...they sucked an old halo fan would realize that they changed the game from halo to something different. and while i like being able to get around the map with sprint and jetpack, armor lock and invis were way to overpowered they messed up the gameplay and turned it into something that it never should have been. in halo you have to earn your ****. you want a high rank earn it. you want a power weapon earn it. you want ov earn it. when i say earn i mean beat everybody else. in halo 1 2 and 3 you got good weapons by killing the person who had them and taking out the top dog. controlling weapons spawns and the power points of the map. so if you wanted ov or invis you had to be able to kill everybody else who wanted to get them first. starting everybody out with power ups at the begginning of the match ruined it. in halo classics the power ups gave you an advantage and in reach you could either take the advantage and slow down gameplay or take the manuverability and be at a disadvantage in a fight. I think that the looks of H4 are awesom idc if they look like a different game as long as you can tell its halo and it plays like halo. plus the S-IVs that everybody saw are probably the basic versions you start out with. after the armor gets customized then they will look completly different. I dont think that reach even feels like halo at all. after watching this video today i had a warm feeling inside me. this is halo and this is what it is about. It has always been the community that has made halo so great so to all of the community map designers, forgers, hlg, mlg, halo tracks and any other halo group i wanna say thanks. Halo is about fun and many people find that fun in different ways and that was something halo 3 was amazing at. customizable load outs... i already posted this somewhere so imma go find it we all know they have armor loadouts so i'm sick of people bitching about that jeez your not gonna change anything by now the games being polished not thought up. also having customization doesnt put players on different starting levels it actually can help everybody. for example :whip: :down: if i like to be a support player and sit back with a DMR(assuming they are in H4) then thats my choice and can be how i choose to help my team. they can have 2 DMR players on their team and then double team me from a distance essencially overpowering my distance shooting BUT! then i would have 3 people at mid to close range with either BRs or ARs so my 3 teamates can rush and going 3-2 would overpower their close to mid range players and being able to get up close to their distance players who are using DMRs. Essencially it adds statagy and allows everybody to be happy because everybody can use what they enjoy playing with. furthermore, if they add weapon customization. :down: READ THIS :down: My DMR is essencially a long range weapon so one of the most important parts of it would be the scope. if i got to pick between a longer range scope with a smaller reticle then i would have a larger advantage at a distance because i would be able to get headshots from farther away. but if they came closer to me then it would be harder for me to hit them but easier for them to hit me. as long as something needs to be sacraficed then weapon customization starts everybody off on the same level well what about for an automatic weapon like an AR? well if you make an AR more powerfull but decrease the clip size then you can get the kill faster BUT! you would have to get closer because if you miss a few bullets then you would have to reload and then u die. or if you increase rate of fire then your weapons recoil or bloom would make it harder for you to utilise all of your bullets. or you could choose to go in with a pistol and go for the close up head shot because you are good with a trigger finger or simply keep it as a back up if you run out of ammo BR? well a br is already a mid-long range weapon depending on your skill so itd be affected by both scope and changing the power or speed while i never wanted any customization in H4 it is likely that it will be in. so my suggestion to everybody who is complaining about it is to think of how 343 can balance it instead of bitching about it. Ranks I loved halo 2s ranking system it was hard but fair. to me competing is about winning a losing so thats what you should be judged on. And the arena failed here because it gave individual ranks so people didnt care about the team only themselves. halo reachs ranking system also fails because there is no real system to rank the skill of the player. the credits are a great way to buy and upgrade armor but they dont say how good people are only how much they have played and how many credits they have farmed in firefight. Last Reach broke the halo community. there are still a lot of people here who love halo but the majority have left because of reach. when reach came out it was a dissapointment and split the community between halo 3 and halo reach. then reach split the community between halo reach and classic slayer. then halo reach halo zb tu classic there are just too many small variations its all really slayer. So this is what i think halo 4 needs go back to picking up power ups and AA im actually happy to start with sprint but thats it. throw some jet packs around the map that can be traded for sprint and some power ups like camo overshield bubleshield and maybe a toned down version of Armor lock Looks im happy with so far even though i dont have a lot to judge on we need to wait and see how 343 is doing custom loadouts but i feel like they should be more about personalizing the start of the game then changing how you play completly a competetive ranking system that judges winning and losing because thats the goal of the game! and a game that 343 can stand behind from the start without changing it over and over and over agian

when i look at cod i see all the skill as how you navigate the map when i look at halo i see some skill in map movement but mostly in what you do once your in a fight whin i look at reach i see a game trying to take the best of both worlds but failing epicly

Even after CoD was released halo 3 still did well but after years with out a new halo multiplayer people started to leave then reach came along split up the halo fans between halo 3 and reach. many started reach and then quite halo because they didnt like the new feel or the direction halo has taken

ranking up is fun halo 3 had ranked and social so how did they abondon the fun side isnt that what action sack and double exp were for besides the custom games are the most fun and uncompetetive so many people would rather have played those anyways **** you for saying there shouldnt be ranked

Saying halo needs to "evolve" is a stupid reason to change it. Why would you want to make a game that people think is worse than it's predecessors? And the number of people playing reach compared to halo 2 & 3 shows that the majority of people do think it's worse. Saying halo needs to evolve so it doesn't get old is like saying houses need glass walls. Change doesn't always mean better. Hopefully 343 manages to fix reaches mistakes and bring halo back to it's former glory
