What's stupid is when people don't understand the point of a ranking system...it's supposed to separate good players from bad players It's not just there to make you happy if you want to see a ranking system that doesn't go down look at your total hours played

The new custom loadouts need to serve a purpose without affecting the feel of gameplay...id rather not have them at all but now that theyve been announced i have to trust 343 will do them right

Custom loadouts are in halo 4 but there hasn't been any detail into how much they are going to affect the gameplay. Is it going to be like cod where you get to pick from a large list of starting weapons and perks or is it going to be like reach where you just get a few different abilities? This is what I want. I want to customize between a few starting weapons. BR DMR Pistol SMG AR and maybe a few new starting weapons. Things I would like to be able to customize. Scope, fire rate vs fire power, range vs accuracy, silencers Other than that I feel like weapon customization would change the feel of halo too much Armor customization I don't want the look of armor to affect what it does. If there are perks I would like them to be layered. I would like three categories. Movement, power, special. Movement would be things like increased sprint speed, invisible on radar, jump, things that would affect how you travel the map Power would be things like increased meele power/range, extra shield, exta gun power, things that would affect how you fight Special would be things like bonuses for harder types of kills, reduce sensitivity during sniping, scavenger, bling, pointing out the last person who killed you, smaller things that would be able to be used for special purposes. The last thing is Emblems Halo has had great emblems but Black Ops beat it. halo should be able to design your own emblems with a ban system so people who make ***** emblems have to choose from a predetermined set like in past halo titles These are my thoughts what do you think of them? And what are yours?

A 1-50 rank system is necessary for halos survival Not having a real ranking system killed reach and almost killed halo... Even now the damage reach did may stop halo 4 from having much of a chance

Halo 2 ranking system was the best. It was about how good you were at halo instead of how much you played It was hard to get a high rank but the ranks should be distributed on a curve and that's something halo 2 did right. What's the point of a ranking system if ranking up is easy? I'm not saying credits or exp are bad but they shouldn't be used as a main ranking system. This encourages exp farming which also ruins games. I'd rather play with somebody who will get banned for hacking then somebody who can farm as much exp as they want Credits are fine for upgrading armor but halo is about winning that's why there are points. Winning should be what gets judged not how much you play.

no things should be earned if you dont have to earn your stuff then there is no reason to invest and the game gets old more quickly achievments and credits actually would be awesome. do something awesome to earn something awesome and play hard to make your awesome shnozz even more awesome

Yaaaaaaaaaaa... look at CoD its competetive but not on a team level. In CoD people care more about their individual stats than how the team does. When your working towards a rank as a team then you want the team to win so your rank goes up even if that means supporting your team instead of being the allstar every game

made for competetive doesnt mean that they disregarded social and casual gamers. forged maps tend to be the most casual and fun imo. The way the spartan IVs looked in the video arent how theyll look in MM because they said they will be even more customisable than reach THIS GAME LOOKS 100x BETTER THAN REACH sure the graphics might not be the best out there but they are an improvement and dont forget that this is still based off of the reach engine so im going to judge 343s graphics more off of halo 5 once they build thier own graphics system on the next box. DMR vs BR DMR>BR at long range BR>DMR at close range not to mention that there are people on both sides of the which is better argument so if 343 balances them out then why shouldnt people get to play with their favorite Sure the maps may have had a few sections that looked like past halo maps but you only saw up to a minute and a half of real gameplay so you dont have a clue what these maps are structured like or how they will play This trailer wasnt clear on a whole lot just that Halo 4 is different from 1-3 and Reach

I would love a black ops emblem system just throw down a warning system on top of it and if people get like 25 complaints about their emblem then !bam! they have to choose from a halo 3 style emblem for a few weeks or a month

Two things ive read in this topic have greatly affended me Pink Lemonade Go **** yourself who the hell do you think you are to generalize the people on this forum as casual gamers? Im betting that the majority of the people here know what theyre talking about because they are here on the forums talking about the game. Ms. Mystic Halo 2 may not have been the most polished of all the halo games but it was still many people favorites. The gameplay in halo 2 was in many peoples opinion the best out of any halo game (im one of these people). as for the glitches they werent even a terrible part of halo 2 because games are about fun and the majority of the glitches didnt ruin the game they made them more fun. unbalanced? thats why halo 2 had a ranking system that worked. im assuming that when you say unbalanced your talking about the skill gap between the good and bad players. but the ranking system allowed you to play with people of the same skill range Now my personal feelings about what i want from H4 I would prefer the gameplay to continue to feel like halo. thats what matters to me. While halo reach may have been titled as a halo game it didnt feel or play like a halo game to me. The halo 2 and 3 gameplay was competetive and i didnt feel any sense of competitition in reach, even in arena. i felt like the armor abilities and bloom were too big of a change for it to still be halo. i mean the feel. the maps of reach made me sad. i think that bungie spent too much time on forge world and even tho it was a great idea there still should have been more emphasis on how the other maps played. This is the best way for me to show that halo reach was worse than halo 2. Ivory Tower vs Reflection playing ivory tower on halo 2 was awesome it was balanced and everything seemed to work out well because the map fit the gameplay reflection was the same map but it wasnt nearly as fun because the gameplay didnt fit it. this shows not only a large change in gameplay but also that halo 2 was more fun the only good thing i felt that came from halo reach was sprint and evade. -
What's the point of a ranking system if you only go up? I'm not saying there shouldn't be a social playlist that gets ex but the true skill is what gives halo competative side.

No you are incredibly ignorant if you understood what he ment then you would realize how stupid your post was. He ment gameplay style not how the engine worked. Obviously the halo reach engine was better because it was newer so it's not like they're going to use a worse engine for their new game. But the halo reach gameplay was different than 1-3 and most people care about gameplay not how many small changes there were. You have a right to like halo reach but you can't bash on people for liking classic halo gameplay. Have you noticed how halo reach is unable to ccompete with battlefield and cod? Halo 2 dominated it's generation and halo 3 was at the top for many years but reach was just bad when it came to popularity. It decreased the size of the community and that is one reason why it is so much worse than halo 3 IMO. I'm not even going to play halo 4 if it doesn't go back to it's roots. Halo 2 was an amazing game for so many reason and I believe if 343 build off of halo 2 and innovates while respecting the gamplay And feel of halo 2 instead of halo 3 and reach then they will have another amazing game and once again have a community large enough to get back on it's feet and compete with the other heavyweights of this generation.

idk about an actual LMG but the idea of a big gun that could have a large clip but unlike the turret have ammo so you could reload it. it be hard to balance it out tho with out just giving it the same role as a turret

all the reach system did was reward you for how much you played this is garbage because it shows how long youve been playing and not how good you are at first i thought the arena sounded like a good idea but after two season i got sick of it a rank should be worked at and earned but in reach you had a certain number of games to play and then you could be a platinum but i feel like a rank should be worked towards from the ground up

banshee. there are lots of maps where it is under appreciated on the accension and blood gultch remakes the maps didnt feel right to me because of the missing banshee there is alwasys a few fun moments in any banshee game where skyjacking the banshee is just awesome i feel like in halo reach it wasnt there unless it was invasion and in halo 3 it had a good start but the last few maps missed it -
In halo 3 the xp just felt like hey thanks for playing heres something to make you feel like you actually did something the only time i ever actually cared about xp was when i looked to see if a general was boosted or if they actually deserved their rank most of the time i just look at highest rank to judge my oppenent and thought that the xp was too shallow id rather have them bring back cr instead of xp because i feel that armor should be earned through achievments and then cr should be used to upgrade the different variants of armor that you already earned.

halo is a team game so you should be judged on how your team played if you wanna be judged on your own go play lone wolves and splitting team slayer and team objective would stop you from getting somebody who is amazing at slayer but cant do **** in an objective game when your playing objective based game types

the reason you couldnt play as an elite in mm for reach was because they were actually stronger, they were bigger but had better shields and different AA. I dont actually want elite in mm because they are kinda nooby base off of where their heads are. if they are facing you then they are actually easier to kill because you can shoot their heads and if you miss then you hit their bodies... unlike spartans. idk what the change was from H2 to H3 but in halo 2 i was fine playing elites and in H3 they started to piss me off.

If the ranking system is based on WINS AND LOSSES then those people who dont know what they are doing will get stuck in the lower ranks so by the time you are a level 20 or so you should be starting to get consitent teams. and if the number of wins to rank up or down increases then yes a noob may get lucky and win a few in a row but they will also loose more because if there are 4 people on the other team who deserve their ranks and 3 people and 1 noob on the other team the team with the noob is going to get dragged down. This would stop the noobs from achieving high ranks until they have played enough Halo to deserve them. Basing skill off of a number of wins in a row instead of a combination of every game that has been played since the first time you use a GT forgives the learning period that many newcomers to halo face. The number should be based off of CURRENT SKILL not how you did 2 years ago.

Sprint and evade should be built in to the regular controls any shields invisibiliy jet pack should be pick up items with limited use. I wouldn't mind an armor lock that was pick up and lasted longer but was one time use
