  1. For all of my Halo 2 fans, HERE IT IS! Lockout to perfection. Every shortcut that was in H2 is in this map. Requires Classic FFA gametype or tweak the settings yourself. Enjoy. 2. The ranking system has both pros and cons. People will play more competitively and actually are about how they play. I loved Halo 2s ranking system. However, with ranks involved people, of course, people WILL cheat in order to obtain high ranks. 343 will have to implement an awesome cheat detection system, and enforce their banhammer strictly. I think there needs to be ranking system, but also, a strict banhammer policy. Hire people just for that. An entire team dedicated to finding cheaters and banning them...forever. To answer your question, bloom is dealbreaker. I do not want bloom. DMR is fine, as long as its ZB. Otherwise, give me the BR. Another one would be AAs. Armor Lock, Jetpacks, and Camo (campers) need to be removed. As a matter of fact, just take them all away. Sprint is good idea except when people use it to run when their sheilds are down. Its not Halo.
  3. I think a 15 death streak should be "Shootin' Blanks" and 10 should be "Plastic Guns". And 3 flag caps could be "Hat Trick" like in soccer or hockey.
  4. DMR with bloom or BR, of course, BR. DMR no bloom or BR, I'm torn. I like them both.
  5. Halo 2s ranking system was the best, IMO, flawed in ways, but still the best. Having a number next to your GT instills a level of competitveness that other Halo games lacked. Granted I hated reaching my level 37 and working on 38 just to ge matched with players that obviously weren't at that level, losing, and therefore bringing my level down with them. It should have a mix of important Halo data. As TechGuru explained in earlier posts, something like this: SLAYER 1. Hit/Miss ratio (determining which weapon was used; a headshot with a sniper would have more weight than a kill from a rocket or shotgun. Conversely, a miss with a sniper would have less weight than a miss with a rocket or shotgun.) 2. Assists (this is an enormously underrated stat. I might not have the most kills but if I help my teammate achieve the kill, I deserve something.) 3. Headshots/Body shots when enemy has no shields. (if I aim at the head once and get a kill, it has more weight than hitting the body 2 or 3 three times before finally connecting with the head or killing the opponent without a headshot.) 4. Win/Loss ratio (this should be last given the matchmaking and liklihood of getting matched with people that aren't as skilled, boosted, or don't have mics and can't communicate, etc.) OBJECTIVE 1. Time on objective (player in the Hill or holding a Ball) 2. Hit/Miss ratio as above. 3. Assists as above. 4. Time on objective/ K/D ratio (if I have a higher K/D ratio but with little or no ball time, I was support player. However, a lower K/D with lots of time on objective would give equal points. If I pull off both, lots of Time on Objective and a high K/D, I would get double the value. 5. Objectives completed (capturing a flag, or planting a bomb) With this said, RANKED playlist should be worth both XP for rank based on above projections, and credits strictly for purchasing armor customizations. SOCIAL playlists would only be worth credits towards unlocking armor permutations.
  6. My buddy had an aweome idea. Customizations should be in the game. But animations for reloading would be cool depending on the weapon you had, and your armor. For instance, you have a shotgun with wrist shotgun shells on your armor. Have the chief reach down on his wrist to reload. Or a grenade belt. With the grenade launcher he could reach down to his belt to reload. Same reload time so it doesnt affect gameplay. Obviously the player himself wouldnt see the animation, but other players could see you do it. I think that would be pretty sweet.
  7. I will add to my Friends list but I am looking for people who have served. We stopped in Germany on the way back from Iraq and it was nice. I only saw small part of it obviously but the beer was pretty good. lol
  8. As a veteran of Iraq, I enjoy meeting and playing XBL with fellow brothers in arms. Please describe any military service you had (any branch). I would like find enough payers to play MLG playlists with and be competitive. Thank you.
  9. 2 letters...BR! BR, BR, BR!!! I want my 4 shot BR!
  10. On my screen, the post button is orange. lol
  11. Cheap glitch? That's it was allowed in the MLG Pro Circuit, right? It took skill to accurately time and aim a doubleshot.
  12. I posted about this earlier. I agree 100%. Reach was way too much. I loved Halo 3. I was skeptical at first because of the bubble shield and regen and stuff...but it worked. It was fun. But jetpacks? Armor locks? Too much. Bring back the 4 shot BR, original Halo: CE and Halo 2 map remakes like Beaver Creek, Lockout, Wizard, Midship, and Blood Gulch. After Reach, I'm screaming for the old stuff back. I wouldn't mind having the BXR and doubleshot back. I know they were glitches but they became part of the game and if you didn't know how to do it, you were at a disadvantage.
  13. Battlefield might cater to those ideas.
  14. First off, I'm going to say I hate Reach. Bungie seemed to scrap this game together because they knew they were done with Halo. These changes made Reach IMO the worst Halo game ever...even worse than ODST, which I didn't think was possible. Adding armor abilities was a good idea but it was a huge fail for the most part. It was almost like they tried to piece together different aspects of other major games like the sprint for Cod and the evade from Gears in order to please a greater audience. But instead, they forgot what made Halo, Halo. With such a loyal and loving fan base that is the Halo universe, they should have stuck with what we liked. If it's not broke, don't fix it, right? Now for the controversial subject...bloom. I personally hate bloom. I left Reach for many reasons but the main reason was bloom. Having to time shots is not Halo IMO. In Halo 2, it was about aiming for the head every shot. Shooting as quickly as possible to take down an opponent. And it was fun. I think fast enough in the game between callouts, moving, and watching weapon respawn times to worry about how big my reticle is. I'm a good shot and when I die because someone is spamming and the auto-aim takes over, it makes me mad. I have recently started playing Reach again but only ZB playlists. It still isn't great because of jetpacks and armor lock, but its better. As a long time Halo fan, the best Halo game was Halo 2. It put the video game industry on the map. I feel 343 needs to revert back to the style of play in Halo 2. Bring back classic maps like Lockout, Midship, Coagulation/Blood Gulch, and Warlock/Wizard, instead of relying on players to forge them. Take weapons away like the needle rifle and add the old Carbine, the 4 shot BR, and if they feel generous, the BXR and doubleshot. I know the latter two were glitches but they actually became part of the game and were allowed on the MLG Pro Circuit at the time. It was so gratifying to be low on shields and kill someone with a simple BXR. Maybe I'm crazy but after two crappy releases like ODST and Reach, I find myself looking back at the good times I had at LAN parties playing Halo:CE and Halo 2 wishing to do it again. So bottom line, 343, look at how Halo 2 made it the pinnacle of Bungie's existence. The maps, the PURE gameplay with no armor abilities or bloom, and please, if possible, the BXR and doubleshot.
