  1. i look forward to participating in an event like this, hope to see it up and running this upcoming saturday.

     

    i plan to have a map ready that normally would accomodate a 6 v 6 objective/slayer game, would i have to adjust it to your player count? if so, what number of player should i plan for?

    The lobby usually has a full 16 for about 5 hours. I ended early last Sat because of a long day. Submit your map to me by sending me a message and I will fit it in for next Sat. Welcome and I look forward to meeting you.

  2. Congrats to the winners and all those who participated. If you would like your map played for my Sat night custom game night then message me on xbox and I will get it shared for you. I have yet to see these myself and would love to. Sorry I didn't vote but could not find the link. I thought it was in the forge section but looked everywhere. Hopefully I will participate in the next one.

  3. welcome to the addicting world of forge. My only advice is create maps to enjoy playing new maps don't do it for downloads. Too many forgers get sucked into rating the quality of a map by downloads alone. Remember forging is art and art is subjective. Dog is a great person to learn from but if you ever need another source feel free to ask.

  4. Well if you have played Halo 2 (Which duel wielding was first shown), you'd see that duel needlers was only as strong as one needler from halo 3. It was pretty balanced.

    i played and loved Halo2. Still my favorite. That's what i miss about it. Shoot one needler then a few seconds after that start shooting the other. Then by the time the first one is reloaded and firing again your second one is being reloaded

That all being said, if someone truly wants to brag about being the best, he would any day of the week, place his individual skill achievements against others....not just his piddly "Oh but I wont 75 out of 80 matches"...cause the truth is YOU DIDN'T WIN ****! Your team did. "No I in Team" ring any bells?

     

    This needs to be made into a banner and sent out to all the self-indulged non-team team slayer players...........I fing love it TWINREAPER

  6. I really hate playing with "that guy" on my team. Who cares nothing about his team but will brag in the lobbys about his high k/d spread. My k/d spread sucks even though it is still positive because I never played Halo 3 or ODST and started Reach extremly rusty. These days I usually go positive but what I think is overlooked with team gameplay is the ability to help your teamates. I have more assists then a lot of my inheritor friends even though I have half the gameplay time invested.

    Without talking that one to death i'll change subjects. I have completly stopped playing any sort of objective games or league games like grifball because it seems no one actually plays them for the intended reason they were created. I agree with what was said above about giving points or promoting your rank more if during a CTF game you actually capture the flag for your team. I know that I could be held accountable for just killing during a king of the hill game because I don't like them. For all objective games you get objective bonus points, for slayer games you get points based on accuracy and team support(whether that be kills, assists, etc.)

    I would love to see individual ranks for the different gameplays availible. Let's seperate the amazing swat players from the amazing grifball players, and the amazing custom game players form the firefight players. I am not blessed with a techie brain but I am sure that that it is completly viable as an option. I would be completly fine with a brigadiar rank in firefight, eclipse in team slayer, general in swat, and noob in team snipers:-)

    I like the symbol ranking system more than the number but even symbols can be deranked.

  7. @twinreaper. Don't misunderstand what I said. Let's take grifball as a neutral example. people go in and play it to get a better k/d spread w/o even going for the ball. I don't take anything away from firefight by saying people use it to boost their credits. Which in turn is someone who has a high rank but cannot hold their own against human players in matchmaking. You and I know that gameplay is very different with 35 grunts then 5 spartans. Go back and read what I actually said. Check your blood pressure and breath. Why can't you differentiate AI gameplay from human gameplay? I'm not saying one is harder or easier but you can't deny that it's different.......right?

  8. Supressive fire could actually be translated by using the "shots hit" and k/d. Assuming one is of a defensive or supressing nature, their shots hit should be high, as well as their kill count be low and their death count even lower. I think one of the main things that need to happen to sort people of certain style out, is maybe have a feature in the lobby, that allows you to select the right "style" you play with. For example....

     

    Lets say you go into the lobby for some CTF. Before hitting the button to begin searching, you are given a tick box in which you can select the following...

     

    1. Aggressor (runs and guns into enemy territory for the flag)

    2. Defensive End (hangs back at mid to start of map to provide defense against oncoming enemies

    3. Wheelman (Great at vehicle driving and providing mobile assists to the team.

    4. Strong Silent Type (expert in long range tactical wepaons to provide support)

    5. havent got anything, feel free to add.

     

    So basically, once you decide on what you want to do for the team, the system would then select players who selected the other catagories, and pair you up on a team. This way you have a full team who knows what they need to do, and have the chance to do it. Everyone wins I think?

     

    This is an awesome idea for those who know what gametype they enjoy and know what type of gamers enhance their teamates ability to win.

  9. base the ranking system off of individual accuracy points. Make it a ranked system by gametype. If you enjoy firefight then rank up in firefight. For those of us that enjoy REAL battle like multiplayer then base it off of accuracy and the ability to help out the team. If you get only 5 kills but 12 assists and go neg 4 I personally thinks thats better then someone who gets12 kills and 12 deaths....just saying. We need to encourage the TEAM aspect of TEAM slayer. Betrayals and random sprays that hurt teammates should derank you. instead of the whole team suffering when you betray then only your rank status is affected. That way you don't have "that guy" coming in and killing his own team. Also I can't stand playing with an inheritor who can't hold his own or someone who can't afford a renewed account then starts over and is destroying as a brigadier.

  10. I still feel that armor lock sucks no matter what. The basis of hiding in a fight is just sad to me. Either get in and get your knuckles bloody and a few cuts , bruises, and scrapes or sit in the bleachers and watch. Look .......this is all coming from someone who boxed professionally for 8 years and had opportunities to be on ESPN and also some one who played wing on my rugby team. I love to be in the middle of the action. The people who love to be great long-distance.....well, theres a reason each team has a kicker. They have a role too. Just not one that I will ever take a part in. Bloom doesn't matter when my shotgun just ripped that pretty new visor you just bought right off your face.

  11. I was also a noob not too long ago. However, I have the patience of an anorexic sitting in the kitchen during Thanksgiving preparation. I taught myself the hard way because most forgers are egotistically driven (or complete@$$holes) and don't have time to share their knowledge and experience. It has developed a bad wrap for forgers in general. That's why I have tried to take certain forgers under my wing and show them the basics of forging. Anyone is welcome to join me during one of my forge projects and ask questions while I am forging. I will also show you some of the tricks of the trade that have been shown to me by some of the big named forgers. Keep in mind that not all forgers are good at every part of forging like gameplay, aesthetics, easy navigation, triggers, etc. Sometimes you have to find your niche and develop it. i won't claim to know all things in forge because that's ridiculous but whatever I can't answer I will have a friend who can. Always excited to hear new people trying to forge. Remember we are the future of this game. L8tr

  12. I loved the old squad slayer. it had no armorlock at all so that wasn't a problem. The whole bloom thing I preferred because it made you pace your shots to achieve accuracy. Now with the TU update i have switched to playing only custom games and Forging. Sorry it's short. Got to go to anatomy class. Got to love night classes.

  13. I have 11,734 pummels which is 22% of my kills. The crew I roll with always has a long distance, two mid range, and me. It's called balance. We support eachothers gameplay and no one is right or wrong for liking their own style. I personally have never and will never use armorlock but my best friend Speedy does all the time. If we all played the same and had the same opinions then what fun would that be? That's why I miss the old squad slayer with NO armorlock at all. Why did they have to take the last good type of gameplay out? It's almost like they want every gameplay to be more like swat which sucks. I appreciate your point-of-view Ms. Mystic but i also have mine. Sounds like you would be a great balance to our team. By the way did you know that 19% or 2,549 kills of the gametype you play most are pummels. I guess that seems to be your preferred also;-)
