  1. Congrats Sarge your the new "Trivia Master". I have 42 different ways that Bungie and 343 have used the number 7 including 7 doors in maps, #7 on hull of forward until dawns hull of ship, 7 needles from needler to kill, etc. etc. So what's your question Sarge?
  2. This truly is a honor to not only be able to serve you guys but to be a part of the greatest forum around. But honestly, as much as it is humbling for me to be a part of this great staff, I didn't need a color with my name to serve you guys. The story of why I got back into Halo after missing Halo 3 is long, so I won't go into too much details here or what happened. Instead, I'll tell you the results that came from it. Starting Halo again on REACH I found a passion for custom games and then eventually for forging. Along this journey, I noticed the elitist (no not the covenant) who excluded a lot of people from joining. I have met way too many try hards, prideful, and arrogant gamers who think they are better-than-life because "they belong" to a group and treated players badly. To me that just shows a lack of character. This prevented a lot of people from experiencing what a full lobby during custom games is like. I didn't want to join a group of prideful people to rely on thier reputation to build custom game nights. I also noticed that they were not organized and never ran smoothly. I wanted to create a wave of change. So I started hosting them myself and tried to include whoever wanted to be a part of it. Then I started my own facebook group of quality friends, which was an instant success, to build good quality bonds. The lobby's were filled week after week and it started spreading. I eventually joined a forum because my Xbox friends said it was different, which lasted a week because of the groups attitudes. I swore, I would never join any forum or forge community. Then I met Absolute Dog and he proved to me that there are good forums out there. He had a passion for the well-being of the group and spoke about that. He talked about the strength of the community instead of himself. It caught my attention. Without him knowing it, I tested him many times to see if what he said was the truth. For those who have ever questioned his intentions or motives, then you might want to do a self-evaluation. Let me just say, that they all come from a good, sincere, and honest man. Someone who definitely enjoys the benefits from moderation, but genuinely cares about the community and strengthening the future of the Halo legend. He wanted something that I wanted. I saw an opportunity to accomplish what we both wanted and joined this group but until a few months ago kind of stayed in the shadows. During my last year as a member of this forum Custom Game Night has continued to grow and every week there are 2-3 dozen who are not able to join. From the beginning, this is what I have tried to avoid. Now, with the help from Lil Dog and Sweaty Bagels, this problem can be avoided. With them on board, I hope to make this even better for you and allow even more to join. I know that not everyone likes customs but have met less than a dozen from this site during custom nights. There is no required time to stay so what can it hurt? Come check it out and meet some new people. If you don't like a particular gametype then just remind yourself that most games last only 5 min and wait for the next one. I look at this opportunity to be a part of staff as a privilege and want to serve you guys the best I can. If you ever have comments, concerns, or thoughts on how to better customs night then shoot me a pm. I will do my best to serve the members of this forum with the same honor and integrity of the other staff members.
  3. AGREED!!! DocterB77 Also this message is well deserved and in a timely manner. Thank you for the time you invested in articulating this message to us. You covered so many basic points which all of us should use for a self analysis. I appreciate you delivering it with eloquence, assertiveness, and humility. Although some of it should be known from our own common sense, sometimes it just needs to be expressed as a reminder. Your tha man Mr. Doggy dog!
  4. http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/23684-welcome-spades-n-az-and-lil-dog-to-the-staff/ Come get to know me this weekend if you can. I have got most of Sat and all of Sun off. Send me an invite.
  5. The color changes but the person doesn't . I'm just glad to be a part of such a great group of people, who as a whole, make this forum better. I've pm and messaged back and forth with a lot of you but haven't actually played with most of you. Let's change that, I WANT to know all of you better. P.S. no more bright obnoxious red cuz I'm green now
  6. At least come join us for the playdate! Your amazing sigs can wait for now. Everyone will just have to wait for your awesomeness to return.
  7. So Dirty Juicebox and I were making a list of top friends and somehow you made the cut. I hope you get active on here and bring your laid back positive attitude with you. By the way I hit your brother with my truck on the way to work this morning.....sorry man!
  8. I love that your as city boy as they come yet you also start with howdy. Good to see you on here Mr. Umbra. Probably been a while since someone used that name huh?
  9. The first guy to ever spend time showing me how to forge finally joins the site. Guys I don't personally like to race flat skill based maps but Darkstar072 is an amazing racetrack maker. He started this league almost 2 years ago and I know a few racers who race it religiously. I can guarantee a good time but don't be cocky. Just when you think you are a good racer they will be lapping you. They take this very seriously(while laughing the whole time) and actually do hundreds of practice laps before each big race. Check it out and be featured on youtube as placing first, if your good enough.
  10. Awesomeness I'm glad you joined man. My fellow Mod from our other site finally joins us!
  11. I have always liked the original "cops".......wait, what's that I here a tune. Yeah we all know it and can sing along. It's brainless mindless fun that I can watch while eating a meal and don't have to finish an episode. I don't really watch alot of t.v. and this just gives me something that I never have to tune in each week for.
  12. Sorry to hear about that man. I too collect cases and have all the limited edition Halos. I hope you find one and welcome to this forum.
  13. I have been a member for almost a year which is the longest I have ever stayed with any forum. I have stayed in the shadows observing other members applying my years of psychology from college to do a psychoanalysis on most of you. Although it's hard without seeing body movement to really read someone, I have noticed a few things. The bonds which support the backbone(moderators) of this forum are solid, the head(TWAM) is wise, and the appendages(us) are flexible at times but supportive of the core. It's a recipe for success and I wanted to be a part of it. For the first year I stayed in the bubble at the bottom known as forge world and posted about my custom game nights. Now it's time to venture out and I am enjoying it.
  14. Nice job man! Insignia is very skilled and you have obviously learned a few of his tricks to the trade. Maybe he could use your help once in awhile.
  15. This is just basic knowledge in life 343I members. Respect your elders and treat others how you would like to be treated. Why is everyone pointing fingers at moderators? Is it wrong that they care enough about you as a community to keep the place clean from disrespectful and mean people? No one will make it far in the real world talking behind your bosses back and calling them names if your disciplined. No they are not your bosses, but they are the authority figures who try their best to make this enjoyable for us and NO we couldn't do a better job. Go 1V1 them if you have aggression towards them. I ran a business for 12 years with 55 employees who treated me as a friend. They also knew that I was the authority figure, though, and would never say some of the things that are written in this thread. Starting rumors and drama will never result in a good thing. So be the bigger person and eliminate it from conversations you hear. Life is full of so many things that are much more interesting to talk about anyways.
  16. Very cool news. I better show my lady so that she can start saving
  17. originally 12 Halo rings Sarge but yes only 7 in place because the others were destroyed. The first 2 discovered were Alpha and Delta which makes no sense but it is what it is
  18. Know More?!?! PROOOOOVE It!!! So each week during my custom game nights I started doing something which I had not previously done before Halo 4. In between games I sometimes asked random Halo trivia and then give awards to whoever texts me the answer first. The players have all really enjoyed it so I wanted to bring it to our community. We all "claim" to love Halo more than the next but do we KNOW about Halo. It's a fun way to compete while showing your devotion to the greatest game ever. Since, I am not able to "host" a thread like I host game nights I will change the rules a little. Rules of Engagement: 1. I will start it of by asking a Halo trivia. 2. I(you) will check it daily(key part, you must be active) to see who gets the right answer. 3. I(you) will then respond to the first post who answers the trivia with a complete answer and pass the "Trivia Master" title. 4. Then I(you) will announce that they are the new "Trivia Master" so that they can take lead. 5. Then they will get to show off their Halo knowledge by posting the next Halo trivia question as "Trivia Master". Let's see who can be the first one to stump the community with their awe inspiring knowledge of this great Halo universe. Here's an example: Spades N AZ: What are the true names of the covenant races? TWAM: hunters, grunts, brutes, elites, prophets, drones, jackels Spades N AZ: nope, sorry TWAM but that's only what the humans call them because we are to lazy to pronounce their real names. Spectral Jester: oh this is easy......Mgalekgolo, Unggoy, Jiralhanae, Saaangheili, San 'Shyuum, Yanme'e, Kig-Yar Spades N AZ: Wow SJ, I didn't know that you are such a Halo geek. Good job, your crowned the new "Trivia Master". Another example: Spades N AZ: what is the significance of the number 343 and why did 343 industries name themselves that? Absolute Dog: because Bungies favorite number was seven and 343 has numerals which relate to seven. Spades N AZ: Sorry Doggy dog but not quit Total Mayhem: because 343 is 7x7x7 which is also 7 cubed but you wouldn't get that Spades. Spades N AZ: huh [scratching head] after reviewing numerous sources you are correct Vitaman PWN. I dub thee "Trivia Master" Rules of Engagement cont: 6. If no one gets the answer correct after a week then the questioner will be added to the ranks of the "Trivia Master" hall of glory and get to ask another question. 7. If the answer is partially right then be the first to completely answer it correctly and you get to be "Trivia Master". 8. If you become "Trivia Master" and some one answers it correctly without a response in 3 days I will resume the "Trivia Master" position. 8.5 If you are caught editing then all your answers are void and you are dubbed a cheater. 9. There is no way to play favoritism. First one to answer correctly gets to be "Trivia Master". So no whining. 10. More rules may be added at any time(if needed) to keep this good clean fun! First question as "Trivia Master" Q: There are literally hundreds of references to the number 7. Titles which involve seven, maps with seven hallways, seven towers, 343 guilty spark, etc. Who can name the most by the end of the week? First one to reference something gets credit for it, so be the first.
  19. So I am catching up on post interviews John 117 and was grateful to read more about you. I have also noticed you have been gone for sometime, what gives? Hope to see you return soon. Your obviously a strong part of the foundation of this forum.
  20. Not so fast.....I still know how to find you. You have done great things for this forum Jester and have been there for many members when they needed it. The stories I have heard are true. You will always be a legend and you can never take that away from anyone.
  21. I'll try it out and possibly use it for our custom game night
  22. Welcome to one of the greatest forum communities although not directly affiliated with 343, we also don't go unnoticed. The rules are pretty straight forward. Try to keep whatever subject you post on in the appropriate location to reduce clutter and be respectful of others( you should review all of them). These will get you far on here. After reviewing the rules invest some time to familiarize yourself with the topics and there locations. You'll find everything from A-Z on here and whatever the site is missing then feel free to add or suggest. As far as your post goes, I disagree with MOST of them and can inform you on some of them but 4 and 5 I agree with. Anyway, I do a custom game night every Friday which is open to all members of 343 I so feel free to once again read my thread if you would like to participate. Hope you enjoy yourself and meet a lot of new friends.
