  1. I'm glad you can still get points on other kills besides killing the king/being the king and killing others. That's one of the things I never liked about juggernaut.
  2. They had their heart in the right place making the decision but I still would have rather had just a higher base movement speed and scrap sprint all together.
  3. Where in the world did this rumor come from? Adding an additional disk for multiplayer/forge won't jack up the price at all, let alone $20 dollars. If it is somehow true then it would most likely be the worst pricing decision in the history of video games so far. "Hey check out our major holiday release and the newest installment for a franchise you love! Oh yeah, it will cost $20 more than you were expecting. Trollolol have a nice day!"
  4. This video is better than the Wraparound one haha. I'm hoping stairs don't affect grenades all weird like they did in Halo 3 and are just treated like a sloped surface.
  5. Woohoo release date. Any idea what that big thing is on the back of the red guys back? I can't remember if it was shown in the game informer or not, but you get a good look at the shotgun in the video too. The sniper looks mighty uh...not sleek? If that is indeed the human sniper.
  6. My guess is mid-november. If you look at the history of "holiday" releases, very few actually ever come out after november.
  7. When this "insider" claimed that Forerunner vision was a hoax after it has already been revealed in gameinformer I'm gonna have to claim fake on this one. Also the covenant not being your enemy in the first level after it too was revealed...
  8. I don't care one bit that they're not playable. It may be the first bit of news that I'm 100% happy about regarding what we know for halo 4 so far.
  9. They most likely have made something like "respawn zones" that weapons can be randomly dropped into so people at least have a general idea of where to find them. As long as it won't spawn power weapons/regular weapons anywhere on the map (like inside an opponents base) then I think I'll be able to cope with it. I'm hoping that this detail of the game is being misinterpreted greatly and that random weapon spawns will have its own playlist or gametype, similar to fiesta gametypes back in the day.
  10. From my guess, this will only be incorporated into FFA or slayer variant gametypes. You will most likely have the option of waiting til the normal respawn timer resets to watch whatever happens after you die or you can do this to get back into the action. I don't think this hints at any sort of betrayal system reworking.
  11. There is, or at least hinted at, some sort of a ranking system in Halo 4. http://halocouncil.com/content.php?67-Frankie-Shares-Insight-About-Ranking-And-Matchmaking-For-Halo-4
  12. Hmm...I'm hoping it's not completely random or something like that. It would suck if it was like "if you kill an enemy with a headshot, you get one point plus an additional point for every other headshot kill you have" and you end up being literally the only person on your team using a headshot weapon. I'll just have to see what they came up with and how it pans out.
  13. As others have said, most likely it'll be br mid range and dmr long range. Br spread will probably be too large to be effective at longer ranges and dmr will probably fire too slow to be effective at closer ranges. Needless to say, I'm interested to see how their weapon balancing will be.
  14. As long as they successfully achieve having all maps actually work well in a competitve sense and make halo faster paced than it has been lately while still even having a sliver of the gameplay feeling like "halo", then I'll be happy. Yes a lot of the news is disturbing, some sounding borerline not good, but we haven't played it nor even seen considerable footage to make a well informed opinion ourselves. Just stay open minded about everything the best you can until you can play the game yourself (if you're skeptical then RENT it first, not that difficult to do, right?).
  15. I find your lack of knowledge of mlg rather disturbing by what you showcased in this post. Practically everything you said relating to mlg is wrong except for the community being extremely worried/pissed about the leaked news. And maybe the most incorrect thing you said was that halo 3 made mlg. You could look at stream numbers and most likely find a steady decline in viewers for each event because it wasn't fun to watch and a lot of the pro's actually found it more of a chore to play rather than fun *gasp*. Keep in mind this trend continued even more so with reach until NBNS settings were made/used. /mlg rant As others have said though, see ya later.
  16. With the newly announced Forerunner Vision... Now you see me... - kill an enemy player looking at you with forerunner vision activated With the announcement of the Regicide gametype... Priority One - get the most "king" kills in a game of regicide Demolition - destroy 5 enemy vehicles in one life
  17. No matter how Halo 4 ends up being it won't alter my memories of hauling around xboxes one weekends and pulling all nighters lanning halo 1 with friends.
  18. Since Mr Awesomsox isn't going to read this I don't know why I'm typing this, but here we go anyway. Did I say I was bad pre patch at landing headshots? And what makes you assume I dislike bloom in the first place? I was excited for it to be in reach because I thought it would be like how it is in shadowrun, but we all found out it wasn't. I'd be willing to bet your top 3 weapon kills are shotgun, assault rifle, and a vehicle, but oh well, I'm bad anyway obviously. And care to list some things bungie did to please their fanbase? Through patches and/or things that were actually shipped with halo 3/reach. They "fixed" the melee issue in halo 3 to a slightly less crappy melee system. They've slowed down gameplay, which was never asked for. Pretty much screwed up just about all the maps they remade, not talking about spiritual successors. They did less than nothing to patch reach too it seemed like. Besides flaming everyone who has a different view than you and adding absolutely NOTHING to a conversation, maybe you should think of something constructive to say.
  19. Weapons Covenant carbine returning? Yippee! Though I always used the BR, this could technically kill faster if you hit all your shots. Assault carbine...? I'm curious. All other confirmations were expected though. I'm sure that the random drop weapons are either custom game specific, gametype specific, or only forge enabled. Respawn Seems like a weird feature...most likely gametype specific. Most likely FFA and Slayer has this...can't see objective games (or at least competitive settings ones) using this feature. Join games in progress Disappointing for sure. Hopefully this has a playlist of its own. Or make it a matchmaking preference to not join games already started or give you the option of canceling joining it. Gamemode Stuff My guess on distraction - kill someone that was shooting at a hologram. Revenge is obvious. Regicide is kinda confusing to understand based off the cliff note given for it. Seems like another kind of juggernaut with how it's described. Spartan Ops sounds...I dunno. Maybe it'll have its own playlist or something? I didn't watch the video or read the scans so if it is more described in those then I'll check them out sometime. Armor Abilities Everyone kinda already discovered hologram and jet pack returning. Plus people were expecting sprint to maybe be the default. Hopefully that means that armor abilities will now be pickups instead of loadout specific so people have to fight for them. Forerunner Vision better have an extremely limited radius or just be like a "burst" of energy that breifly highlights enemies for like...half a second to a second. Multiplayer I wonder if how exactly it will tie directly into campaign. Maybe chief will be given the red and blue recruits to help him at some point? Or maybe have flashbacks to him training. Hopefully none of the loadouts you can buy are overpowered and that the default ones can hold their own so new players aren't hindered. Or maybe that just means that you buy another loadout to choose from that you can customize. I'm REALLY hoping none of the stuff you can unlock weapon, AA, and modification wise is over powered. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose. Technology We already new is was using a modified Reach engine and that they said the major difference would be lighting and shading. "Pushing *insert console* to the limit" is hype said about any and every big game coming out. Overall, I'm glad we got some news and I'm excited for whenever I get the game informer with all the info. I'm sceptical about a few things based off their brief description but I'll stay open until we get more info and I try the game out.
  20. Friendly fire needs to stay, it's the betrayal system that needs reworking.
  21. I find this post funny because Bungie progressively became less and less worried about satisfing their fanbase after Halo 2, and moreso after Halo 3. To prove my point in a major way, just look at the bloom outcry in Reach. So much complaining and asking for it to be changed and yet they did nothing about. Not one thing. Here comes 343 into the picture and what's the first issue they addressed once they took over control of Reach updates? They gave us not only one, but two tweaks for bloom to hopefully please everyone (lowering it and giving gametypes without it). The one, and only thing I can think of right now, that Bungie completely nailed right in either Halo 3 or Reach was making such a faithful remake of Midship. End rant. On topic, I haven't read the leaks yet but I'm staying an open book about everything the best I can until I actually get my hands on time with the game.
  22. Another explanation could be that the vidoc footage was actually fairly old. Then again, the hud could possibly be like the easiest thing to change and move stuff around on. I haven't been on in a while so this stuff may be discussed in another topic I haven't looked at yet, but the dmr looks funky as funk can be haha. Also the caption that elites are not playable makes me a happy panda, even though I know a lot of people will now be disappointed.
  23. Without bloom and armor abilities I find reach to be more enjoyable and exciting than I ever found Halo 3 to be gameplay-wise.
  24. I just hope by some act of randomly small chance that the community becomes more willing to play stuff other than slayer. I hate going into btb, invasion, mlg, etc, and just playing slayer every single fricking game. On topic though, I prefer voting rather than vetoing.
  25. If anything, bloom made reach "crappy" in more peoples eyes than armor abilities did. Here is a basic "crappiness" ranking of reach settings: Worst: Bloom + AA's 3: Bloom without AA's 2: AA's without bloom Best: No bloom or AA's
