Okay after quickly skimming about the different editions of halo 4, I am really confused as to which one I should get. Can anyone explain what each edition has and recommend one? It would be a huge help as I am real busy in school.

I get where your coming from, but without it nobody cares and you dont get good games. In reach people quit almost every game, and dont communicate at all, because win or lose, your still getting exp. Theres no incentive to win. And now the only incentive to win in halo 4 is again, just more exp. I dont think I am overreacting because it truly is that important to the success of the game.

Disappointed is an understatement. Crushed is more like it. Im more excited for Black ops 2 zombies than Halo 4, my favorite series of all time, because of how they are being peer pressured by other games to make noob friendly ranking systems. They need to add 1-50 in ranked playlists or this game's multiplayer is going to be just another flop like Reach's multiplayer. Not going to keep repeating myself here or arguing with you guys, I have been real busy in school and have midterms and such, but I have been posting about this since February and all signs were pointing to this, I just didn't want to believe it. We need to start a petition or something because all the people I play halo with agree with me on this subject matter. I do play with competitive players but isn't competition what drives you everyday? Halo 4 can easily coexist with competitive and casual players, just as it did in Halo 3 and Halo 2 with ranked and social playlists, and we need that back to bring Halo back. Maybe this is just the direction video games are heading in. Maybe the good old days are just going to be memories, and we will never get the nostalgic feeling of our old favorites brought into new games. I am losing faith in the video game industry.

All I ask is for 1-50 in individual playlists, such as Team slayer, team snipers, MLG, big team battle. 343 could easily add that onto this system. This promotes better gameplay, less quitters, (perhaps more cheaters but by now they should be able to stop cheating), and an overall more competitive experience.

Finally, I waited all this time to find out my favorite game has become COD. I am disgusted and yet not surprised one bit. There is no incentive to try in matchmaking. This truly disappoints me. There are no individual levels in playlists.

So basically black ops 2 is going to have leagues like in Starcraft where you rank up and down based on WINS AND LOSSES!!! A big step in the right direction for the franchise. I'd like to see halo 4 do something like this.

I agree. Halo 3's was fun but it had the most flaws of them all. They just need to get it right this time, basing it off the successes and failures of previous systems.

Guys at the end of the day Halo is better off with a ranking system such as Halo 2's. It is better to have boosters and derankers with more people playing the game than having people dissatisfied with the ranking system. Stop pretending it shouldn't matter because even though theoretically you should go all out every game, without a motive a large # of people wont care.

My question is why after the total disaster of Halo Reach's system do they decide to do something that sounds a lot like CoD? Clearly the best system so far was Halo 2's and they are shying away from it. Frankie said they wont do 1-50 in playlists because of derankers and boosters and cheaters. Yet simply look at the sales of the Halo Franchise. Halo 2 and 3 sold much more than Halo Reach, seemingly due to its unique play style and competitive ranking system. Halo Reach took elements of other games and used a non competitive ranking system. People played halo 2 and 3 so much because of the competitive aspect of trying to get a 50 in the playlists and without that I and many others see no point of calling out and giving 100% every game to win because at the end of the game all you get is credits win or lose. Thats the direction of video games these days, they are all trying to appeal to noobs. Halo stuck to its competitive nature through halo 3 and eventually gave in. More information needs to come out about the ranking system very soon. Halo pro Ninja made a very good video about this here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohMtRr-ywh0 and I completely agree with his points. I cannot continue to argue about this, because it truly is disappointing the direction this franchise, my favorite franchise, is headed.

Halo 4 Multiplayer Gameplay & 60 Ranks Confirmed

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS THANK GOD THERES A # SYSTEM But on a serious note, they did the right thing. Now is this system based on each playlist or an overall rank? And how do you rank up is it just by wins? -
Anyone still play Halo 2 (PC) anymore? I do! :D

Yep I do. GT Destroyaaa -
Damn you must have been unlucky I played snipers in that range all the time. There was a huge snipers community who played legit.

What I've noticed is the skill gap of individuals in halo 2 was most noticeable and every game since that has depended more and more on team work. Skill wise I truly believe that in halo 3 I could have been a support player on a pro team. The players that worked together in halo 3 and Reach (from what little I've seen) are the ones that win. In halo 2 individuals could take over the game due to BxR, double shot, etc. In halo 3 I've out BR'ed and no scoped a few pros. I would never dream of doing those things in halo 2, partially due to the fact that I was about 13 in my prime of halo 2 but also because the skill gap was bigger. Point is that teamwork and strategy is far more important nowadays.

What was everyones favorite superbounce
Destroyaaa replied to chifton's topic in Halo 2 + Anniversary
You mean lockout? This is H2 Anyways I have a lot to choose from but the best ones were the ones that you could get out of the map with. Ex. Headlong Crane bounce, Terminal bounce, Burial mounds bounce and then glitch out. -
Imagine they started playing Halo 2 Vista? That would be fantastic.

Bout time! nice find

good luck man. I too sometimes want to get away from it all for a while and may someday do the same.

What are your favorite halo 2 maps and why? I loved so many maps in this game so this is almost impossible for me. I gotta say though in BTB Waterworks and Containment were my favorite because the size of the maps. For FFA Midship and Lockout obviously. For snipers I guess Relic, Zanzibar, or Terminal but I pretty much liked them all except Beaver Creek (too small for snipers). As for regular 4v4 MLG or Team slayer or anything 4v4, I cant differentiate between Midship, Lockout, Sanctuary or Warlock. All just simply amazing.
-
For MLG its The Pit. The map is completely balanced and requires a great deal of teamwork, which is why I love playing it. For big team battle, Standoff is my favorite for the same reasons. No sniper on the map makes for an epic battle for laser and lots of team shotting.

As long as its not like COD when you join on a losing team where the other team completely outnumbers you and the game is already over, then I think it can work.
-
Wait seriously? How do you put it on?

I just watched Blood diamond yesterday, forgot how moving it was. Awesome, awesome movie.
