I don't know about all of you but when I play Halo Reach I mostly play big team battle, mostly because I always get the tank in Hemorrhage, I love playing with tanks/vehicles since Im good with them. Also like the feel of a bigger battle.
But is Halo 4 gonna do anything different? For one, they need to make multiplayer bigger and they need some radical new game modes. Im pissed off that there will be no Elites, maybe forerunners instead? Still, its disappointing. That was an innovation they are taking away, gonna make it more generic like Halo 3? I don't know, I really liked Halo 3's maps though. The Elites really played differently then the Spartans, you felt like you were playing another race.
Forge needs a radical re-design, Forge in Reach is good but it looks so boring! All the maps look the same, you can't truly create a new map, only alter terrain and add those blocks, there is no terrain varation, I want Snow Terrain, Red Rock like Geonosis (star wars its like mars) and Desert. They also need to make major improvements to forge so people can make better maps.
Now, what will really define the multiplayer is new game modes. I think they should pay more attention to big battles. It should be increased to 12vs12 at least, COD3 did 12vs12, Frontlines Fuels of War was 16vs16, I don't see why they can't do it.

Forge maps matchmaking playlist(this would be amazing if they actually improved forge alot)
8vs8 and 12vs12 sometimes 5vs5 depending.
12vs12 Big Team Battle
A completely new gamemode with the largest Forge maps designed by the developer, Has dedicated Servers for a MMO like feel, 100 vs 100 multiplayer matches.
But my wishes will probably not come true, there will be nothing really different about the game. Just a new engine and flashy new graphics but the core gameplay will remain the same.
