Damn it, they're using the Halo Legends Master Chief Armor.

I can't explain too well, but I generally think that a digital scope like the one on the Reach model would be harder to use than a regular one. Also, I was thinking rather hard canon-wise which is why I mentioned the scope glare. I can't really argue about how the H4 sniper handles, since I can't determine it from other players. I see the appeal in a big screen on a sniper, but the H4 scope introduces something new compared to the other versions, which is why I like it. The thing I dislike about the Halo 4 model, is that it looks a bit stubby, or short, compared to the Reach model. Also, the skull inside of the promethean knight isn't entirely human: http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120605141031/halo/images/thumb/d/de/P.K%27s_skull.png/640px-P.K%27s_skull.png Note the nose and jaw structure.

I actually like it more than the old one. The "bulkiness" of it to me just says that they've put in more hardware into the scope. The second, offset mini-scope to me looks great, and gives the impression that this is a really advanced weapon. Also, look at it from a regular UNSC soldier's point of view. The reach sniper would be incredibly hard to use as you'd have to keep your head a certain distance from the screen in order to see it in focus, hence making it harder to target enemies accurately. The Halo 4 model, has an eyesight, which would make it much easier to use. Not all UNSC soldiers are Spartan IVs who have the sniper scope feed into their HUD. Also, the light given off by the screen would be a dead-giveaway of position, so the smaller secondary screen reduces the chance of that happening. The "handlebar" is there so you don't damage the scope accidentally by having to grab it in order to carry it or pick it up, and if I'm looking at the same thing you're referring to, it was ALSO in the Reach model, and the Halo 3 model; but was positioned downwards in the Reach model. The wire you see was ALSO in the Halo Reach model, but there were actually two wires in that one. Another thing, I'm not sure if they've done this, but I would love if they changed the way the Reach Sniper's smoke trail dissipated. Instead of just disappearing, it would be awesome if they reverted it to the combat evolved version, where the smoke trail is blown away.

RTX Expo: Opinions on Gameplay (Links to Videos)
Anonymousnorris replied to SatanicBagels's topic in Halo 4
Not really, you can't use boost when you have to turn, otherwise you'd go flying off into the ocean like that one player almost did. Unlimited speed boost would also make sense being in Halo 4, since they had it in Halo 3. But it would seem that all Ghosts have gone back in terms of technology... I at least hope they have an option for it in customs and forge. -

The only thing I dislike is that Ghosts still have limited boost for some reason... -
The prometheans wouldn't necessarily have to kill them, just rough them up in order to get their point across. If there are humans on requiem, then they would likely see the prometheans as gods, and would maintain a lower class of technology to appease them or whatever. I kind of doubt that there will be humans on requiem, but it would be interesting to see what would happen if there are.

Yeah, but you'd have to wonder what the local populace of promethean knights and other forerunner creations would do if they saw the humans on Requiem advancing technologically. They might see this as a threat to whatever they're meant to guard, and destroy the new technologies and/or kill the humans responsible. I would think that eventually the humans would notice that they get terrorized whenever they advance, and would stop doing so; hence, they would appear to be in a primitive state.

Weather options would be an improvement over the special effects in reach's forge. I hated those >,<

You need to close off the back of the elite spawn, as I ran back there and died with no warning. Maybe less rocket launchers for spartans, as the elites had almost no power-weapons. I still had overshields, when I landed from the ODST pod, which would be another unfair advantage. There's a sniper rifle under the Elite base, which I'm not sure is a good idea. I think it would be a good idea to make it impossible to go under the map, and under the elite base. Plus, why is there an exit in your map? Isn't the focus to make people stay in the map while playing invasion? Also, I don't quite understand what the point is of the room you can teleport to.

Meh, the blood spatters aren't that big of a deal to me. What I find annoying is that they didn't really change the particle effects in explosions, along with the body physics and animations. The particle effects in Reach were terrible in my opinion.

I was explaining that that the sphere might be some kind of device that the Didact uses, or even rides in, so technically they would say "he" for that specific reason; not because they simply refer to it that way.
-
Can someone elaborate on how Promethean vision gives your position away?
-
True, but, in the live action trailer, when the Infinity is getting scanned by what seems to be the scanner from the sphere; A symbol that resembles the one that represents the Didact, flashes on the screen where the video chat between the woman and her son was happening. Here's a pic of it:

The guy on the right seems to be a normal marine. The possible blue team members to the back and left of chief are Spartan IV's.
-
Meh, evade, sprint, thruster pack, it's all the same to people who say that they will be used to run away.
-
Huh, these customizations all seem pretty damn balanced. Nice job 343. inb4 people start complaining how thruster pack is going to be the new sprint
-
So....What UNSC Aircraft are we using in Halo 4?

Well, when you think of a visor, you're going along today's standard, which is simply piece of hardened glass that covers the eyes. Now five-hundred something years into the future, I'm sure that they haven't simply let the visor stand still in time. It could be engineered to bend light, so that a larger picture is made to account for smaller size. And to put it simply, as I could go on and on about this, the visor is quite big enough, we're simply used to incredibly large ones which are often unneededly big. There's also something called neck movement, which I'm not sure you've heard of.
-
Wait, where is there the live action with Chief in it?
-
Well I mean, they kind of...are. They are less intelligent as they focus less on strategy, and more on brute force, and their technology mainly comes from the Covenant. They aren't as agile as Elites, and are too big which could make them easier targets. And the Reach brutes certainly were the ugliest covenant race(at least to me). Oh woops, just noticed your name ^,^
-
The logical explanation would be to reduce the chance of the visor getting broken when shields are down, and to prevent the glare from being too noticable.

The campaign gameplay and live action trailer are now available to be downloaded in HD(I think) from the Game Marketplace. This is as close as you're gonna get to playing it until it releases, as it really does feel like you're watching a campaign video in Theatre. The trailer occupies 115.59 MB The gameplay occupies: 265 MB Felt like sharing(not sure if posted already)
-
It doesn't fit both in the War Games aspect, and in the fact that Elites are more equivelant to Spartans, than brutes. Brutes are too large, too slow, too stupid and too ugly to be considered as playable.
-
You should have expected that the weapons the Forerunners did make would look different. The sentinel beam shot an orange laser, so, it would be logical that other weapons would be orange. If you look at society today, you'll note that government buildings and workers don't exactly resemble the Army's type of structures, or soldier getup. Orange is a nice change in my opinion, and intimidation is always a nice thing to have, even if you're a forerunner. My only gripe is how the promethean knights walk, it looks more like a wobble(maybe moving limbs is too primitive or something)

The enemies in the trailer are NOT Prometheans
Anonymousnorris replied to Stealth Pilot's topic in Halo 4
The actual prometheans would probably be near invincible against human weapons, (including Spartans) not nearly as weak as the embodied AI seen in the campaign trailer.
