  1. I can respect the fact that you're looking to start a good discussion. Honestly, I can only imagine what it would be like playing as a hunter or something. I would have to make sure that nothing every gets behind me, but I would have a fuel rod canon built into my arm
  2. Well, that would take away much of the balance in the multiplayer system. Some enemies present much larger and slower moving targets. some have shielding systems in their armor, others don't. Everything would be completely unbalanced, and new animations would have to be created for every new species. I like the creativity, but its impossible
  3. I guess big team battle would work out. I would just have to control the enclosed areas on larger maps. But I would like to have the AR as my primary and magnum as a secondary in order to advance both weapons in progress
  4. If anyone has ever played the custom game ro shambo, then you will understand the true fun of having completely random weapons
  5. it would be nice to see some change in dynamics, rather than DMR, DMR, and more DMR
  6. They added in death markers, instead of just having your teammates call sign just disappear when they die. So, the callout "on my x" is finally going to be useful once again
  7. probably the most coveted and most challenging helmet to earn in halo 4 is the protector helmet. The first skin can be earned through the commendation of UNSC loadout mastery, and the second skin is earned through universal weapon mastery i am shooting for the first helmet at the moment.... So far i have the DMR and BR at full mastery. I need around 500 more kills with the magnum, 350 more with frag grenades..... and then the assualt rifle..... :wallbash: I still need close to 1250 more kills with that weapon. I am here seeking advice for the best way to achieve those AR kills. The new forge FFA playlist seems pretty decent for getting assualt rifle kills, but i dont feel like playing that for the next 3 weeks. If you have any advice for getting assualt rifle kills in mass proportions, please leave a response. I also need advice for a gametype to do this in
  8. after playing swat for 6 straight days, finally have BR mastery

  9. chief encounters jul m'dama in a 1 on 1 engagement...... flood crashes the party..... the 2 are forced to work together in order to survive
  10. i am really interested to see how maving friendly AIs in firefight would influence the gameplay. I've had this idea in my head, and it would be great to see it in action
  11. imagine how long it would take to create a seperate campaign for each faction that would be playable. Way too long. And if armor for each was customizable..... no chance of that happening
  12. the story had a great outline, but 343i just didnt implement that story the right way. The objectives were repetitive, the environments were limited, and the background story of the forerunners lacked in detail
  13. i think that this may have been overthought a bit. these things seem way to general have a symbolic meaning
  14. i dont think a 4 shot kill BR will do anything good for the playlist. Then the DMR will become useless if it is nerfed, and people will start a whole new cycle of complaining
  15. I was hoping to hear some feedback about having friendly AIs to call in as reinforcements. I thought this would make it into a more realistic "firefight", but keep things challenging as well. Any opinions about this?
  16. Creative ideas. But would some of these be actual weapons or end up like armor abilities?
  17. I don't think armor abilities should be used as weapons. I think this ability would cross over that line, and it would not affect gameplay in a healthy way
  18. I can understand that you are looking for new elements of gameplay, but the plot was exactly what happened in halo 4. Infinity crashes on forerunner shield world that is occupied by the covenant. UNSC had to fight off attackers and buy time to escape
  19. Good luck trying to have a 1000 pound Spartan floating in water
  20. I don't think that the hologram needs to be made combat ready add some of you have said. Its purpose is for visual deception, it is not meant to be a weapon. Armor abilities are meant to give you an edge on moment, support, or visuals. If you want an armor ability that shoots, them the autosentry is for you. A hologram that fires at opponents will get taken advantage of way too much. I also think the autosentry needs a buff. It doesn't really aid very much in war games, but its okay for campaign and Spartan ops. I think that the autosentry should not remain stationary. It should hover in the area around the user to give it more combat effectiveness, even if a player is mobile on the battlefield
  21. He's probably retired by now. I don't think he'll play a major role if he does return at all
  22. its finally great to see that my evolution theory was correct! i thought that the precursors eventually evolved from the flood, and people have constantly told me that they are not the same species. I have not yet had the chance to read this book, but that is a great explanation. And just so i can get some clarification, did Silentium give any origins to the forerunner-precursor war??
  23. its too early at this point to know if firefight will make a return at some point, but i would like to have it back. I really did love spartan ops, so it would be great to have them both in the next halo game. Possibly a 2 disk game, campaign and war games on one, firefight and spartan ops on the other?? anyways, i just wanted to share some ideas for a new version of firefight if it comes back For one thing, the flood. Yes, i know this is an old subject, but it will really bring a new aspect to the game. They could be mixed in with waves of covenant, and a 3 way fight would break out, or they could also make a purely flood game mode. Something dark and suspensful that will satisfy the nazi zombie craving of the halo community. but it cant stray too far from the basics of halo. This would also need its own map too, to give the eerie effects Firefight also has to porvide more of a challenge to players. It is way too easy with 4 players, and it just ends up as a competition to see who gets the largest multikill. I think firefight needs to develop into a survival-like gametype that will make teamwork crucial to success. there should be rounds that have multiple waves of enemies in them, and if a player dies, they cannot respawn until the next round initiates. This would make players play more cautiously and conservatively, in order to maintain a level of suspense. Once every player has died in the same round, then the game ends. I also think that the personal ordinance system should be implemented into the frefight gametype as well. This could add a strategic element to the gametype, and keep frsh each time. As for ordinance, weapons and powerups would surely be included, but i was thinking that ordinance should include AI allies, vehicles, turrets, and air support. AI allies would work in levels that go by field effectiveness. There would be options available such as: standard marine squad, ODST squad, sniper team, and spartan IVs. marines, sniper, and spartan IVs would be dropped off by pelicans, and ODSTs would arrive in drop pods. Certain vehicles could also be added depending on the maps being played on. They would build up by effectiveness, for example: warthog, rocket hog, guass hog, scorpion. Mounted turrets could be dropped to overlook strategic areas on a map. these would include the simple machine gun turret, rocket turret, and the missle pod. air support could also be used as an ordinance. You could have a pelican remain in the area for a limited amount of time and use its chainguns for support, or call in a bombing run from a broadsword squad. Here is an example of how the ordinance system would work 15 kills choices: -grenades -overshields -sticky detonator 25 kills choices: - marine squad - machine gun turret - sniper rifle 40 kills choices: -ODST squad - warthog -sniper team 50 kills choices: -spartan IVs -pelican air support - rocket hog you will receive points for the kills that your AIs or air support will achieve. This will encourage players to choose their options wisely depending on their situations and what their teamamtes have called in as well i hope you liked these ideas. Feel free to state your opinions, concerns, add on to my ideas, or come up with some of your own
  24. personally, i'm a big fan of halo reach's armor system. I do think the armor should be be achieved, not purchased though. In reach, your spartan was the centerpiece of your profile. It had a large display in a lobby, and the armor peieces were distinctly different. Halo reduced the spartan to a small portrait, and half of the armor is indistinguishable and dull. The variety needs to get amped up a bit from halo 4, but i did like the addition of new visor colors and stances. As for your ideas, i think the add-ons are the smartest idea. They would look extremely bada**, and would add some good customization options. I just picture the security shoulder from halo reach with the massive knife on it when i think of this idea. This could easily include things like the katana, holsters, radios, and combat knives.
