  1. you have learn to stick to more confined areas on larger maps and draw in players from the outside
  2. this would be great to have back, i'm just not sure how personal ordinance would play into this. It may just be all objective
  3. Palmer is suposed to be the tough military girl that you dont want to pick a fight with. Then again, she is a commander so you can expect her to be doing all the dirty work. she did choose to pursue Halsey on her own though, so i'll give her credit for that
  4. i do thin kthe assault rifle is the most effective automatic loadout weapon. It works from close up to mid range at sufficient strength, and works well on many team slayer maps. It's also a classic halo weapon, can't forget that The storm rifle is new feature of halo 4. I do think this gun is highly underestimated though. It breaks shields like a charm and can be used very effectiviley if you know what you're doing. It works great as a secondary weapon when you have the firepower perk in a loadout too the surpressor seems to me like a submachine gun. It is very inaccurate at mid range and tears through ammo quickly. At close range, this thing is your worst nightmare, but i would never use this as my primary weapon
  5. i have yet to play the gametype yet, but i will have to test this out eventually. That was a great quote, by the way, Sweaty
  6. Okay, many of you have discussed how the flood is just like a virus or mindless drone which doesnt make them a society. I wil say that you made some very logical points, especially wonder wombat. They dont seem to have a legitamit "society" or culture, which does not make them a utopia. But after thinking about this situation, i realized that there may be much more to this than i had earlier anticipated allow me to reference some halo fiction. It is extremely implied that the flood and precursors are of the same species. Though the origins and specific connections are unknown at the moment, it can easily be supported by evidence from the text. anyways, in order for the flood and precursors to be of the same species, either the precursors would have to evolve from the flood, or the flood was evovled from the precursors. Its unlikely that the precurosrs evolved into the flood, because the flood was discovered in the form of a powder. so it can be reasoned that the precurors evolved form the flood. In order for that to happen, the flood would have had to infect all of the life in a previous galaxy and began evolution from there. They eventually became the most powerful and advanced beings ever known in the halo universe. they surely had a form of society and organization in order to begin creating all of the other life in the galaxy. So eventually, the flood can evolve from a parasitic state into an independent society under the right conditions. i wanted to point that fact out to show that flood almost certainly has a state of being a true society once it can develop. If you disagree woth any of my information, i'm reading to discuss some facts. also, if you want more clarification about the general process of evolution, i would be happy to explain. *note, do not turn the topic of evolution into a relgious discussion. If this helps clarify, the Catholic church has already accepted evolution years ago
  7. i kind of thought the campaign of halo 4 was pretty dry. Dont get me wrong, i did really enjoy the game, but i think reach had a better campaign. It just seemed to have more of a "classic" halo feel with some better objectives rather than just pressing buttons over and over again. The plot of the campaign was very good, but i just dont 343i executed it the right way. Some examples have been shown in numerous other threads and im not here to put the game down, so i wont go into detail. The plot of spartan ops was spectacular in my opinion. Aside from playing on the same terrain over and over again, i found this new experience very enjoyable
  8. the banshee is truely ineffective in halo 4 from what i have seen so far. Being the only air vehicle in the game, this doesn't give much opportunity for much combat diversity. With the plasma pistol being a loadout secondary weapon, all vehicles have lost large measures of effectiveness in halo 4. a more durable air vehicle in halo 4 would be balanced in my opinion. With personal ordinance, this vehicle would not get too overpowered, as someone will end up with a heavy weapon sooner or later. It would also be better off spawning in the center of a map to make it accessable to both teams. If both teams spawn with one at their base, BTB will turn into a primarily air battle, which is not the spirit of the game
  9. i've always loved the action sack for the sake of me playing with my friends..... Well my friends in person. you guys are still my friends too Anyways, when i have a guest, i'm matched with competitive players that i'm used to playing with, and my guest tends to lead my team to sudden doom with 15+ deaths. the action sack is great place to play just for fun with all kinds of different people
  10. i do think your ideas sound cool, but some minor things dont seem extremely realistic first of all, i dont think the UNSC utilizes ODSTs from the infinity as we have seen in halo 4. No ODST AIs or armor in the game at all, but there is always a chance of their return. I won't doubt they return at some point. I do think halo 5 will revolve around the story of the flood and precursors. Halo 4 went back in to the history of the forerunners and their legacy, so it would seem logical to go back to history of the precursors. If you dont know who the precursors are, i would reccomend reading some of the novels in the Forerunner Saga. I have heard that halo 5 will be the "darkest" halo game, so it's very likely that the flood will be involved. and if we get lucky, we may end up with a flood firefight . but its all just a wish so far. I'm not sure if spartan ops will continue into the sequel, or if they will bring firefight back
  11. making the AIs effective is a matter of your own doing. To start, they are the most accurate gunners you will find for a warthog. they may not shoot the exact target you want them aiming for, but they are deadeyes on the turret. Also, loading up your AI companions with fuel rod guns is one of the smartest decisions you can make. AIs have unlimited ammo with their weapons and they are actually effective when they have a semi-auto covenant rocket laucher. Best combination is a fuel rod gun AI in the passenger seat while having one on the turret of a hog as well
  12. first off, this is probably not what you think it is. I am not asking a stupid question, just allow me to explain what i am trying to figure out. Okay, so in one of the halo books (Ghost of Onyx or glasslands i believe), the plot took place inside of a dyson sphere, better know as a shield world. At some point in the story, the outer surface of the planet broke apart and revealed that i was made entirely out of forerunner sentinals. So now i'm wondering, if Requiem was on a collison course with the star, why didn't it break up into the individual sentinals? it would seem like common sense for them to seperate and save themselves from total destruction. Anyone have some insight to this question?
  13. in the first mission, i put the controller down hoping to just sit back and enjoy the cutscene.... but i was pretty surpised when the button queues popped up. I really dont mind them though
  14. i've began playing more in the highly competitive team throwdown playlist. One thing that i have learned about extraction is that timing can be very crucial if you need to capture a beacon. it is best to take advantage of power weapons when they spawn. when a weapon like a sniper rifle or rocket launcher appears, it will catch the attention of any opponents defending the beacon. 2 or more usually break off from their defensive postions to snag that weapon. This gives you an extremely small window of opportunity to get to the beacon while defenders are gone, and you will need to convert it before the enemies return with the power weapon that they most likely recovered. Another tip for extarction is to remain away from the beacon while defending it. You should not be on top of thing, rather you should stay at a distance that keeps the beacon visible. If you can communitcate with your team, this will always catch enemies trying to convert the beacon into a crossfire. the capturer is normally always expossed, so they will likely stand no chance if you have a perimeter around that area. one final tip, pulse grenades. These are most helpful when a new beacon spawns or at the opening rush in a game. Just use them to block off dooways that allow access to the new beacon which will give you a chance to kill them off and capture the objective.

  16. hello to all of those who don't know me, as you can see, i'm Victory Element. Today is actually my 365th day of being a member here on the forums, and i realized that i never gave any sort of formal introduction. Anyways, i am fairly new to halo universe, but many would not think that. The first halo game that i owned was halo reach, and i got it close to a whole year after its release. The first time that i played a halo game was 2 years prior to that, when i played halo 3 at a friend's house. After playing it once, i instantly fell in love with halo. I am on the younger side of the halo community, and i will admit that it took 2 whole years of begging my parents to finally get the game because of its mature rating. I first came to this forum after halo 4 was announced. I figured i would look for an official 343i website thinking it would give me some sort of cool nameplate, just like bungie.net did for halo reach. I figured out this was just a fan community, but i stuck around and i've never regreted a single moment spent here. my time here is limited due to my busy high school life, but i come by here when i can. you may not find me in the shoutbox often, but i will sure be having discussions in the forum topics for halo 4 this community is extremely welcoming and i felt like part of the family since the day i came. the website is well organized due to our spectacular mods, and i have no trouble navigating the site. And most of the community here seems to be very mature which i greatly appreciate. Its amazing how one video game has brought us all here together, from all around the world, all because we share this one interest of gaming
  17. everyone needs their breaks sooner or later. i hope you are able to return soon

  19. i havent played with any modders like this before, and i can only recall one time when i played in a hacked game. I'm not one who knows how to solve this kind of problem either
  20. halo is only modernizing. Not every new game is going to end up just like halo 3 as everyone expects
  21. Communicate with your team in order to draw the enemy outside of the garage. Don't just keep feeding yourselves into their trap, make them come to you
  22. As shadows said, Spartans have been involved in military training since they age of 6. It would be impossible for them to have children
