i think people do this becuase they know they are going to loose in a gunfire engagement. If player gets hit first and misses thier first shot on the opponent, they know they will most likely loose that gunfight. They figure they could go for a last minute stick or drop your shields for a teamate to come clean you up

i would invite a grunt as long as he didnt have a gun

I know there have been other threads about bringing back the classic SMG becuase its such a fun weapon to use. The problem with just bringing that gun back would be that the other factions would need to have their equivelents too. This class of submachine guns would include the SMG, plasma rifle, a foreunner weapon, and/or the spiker. The main issue with having submachine guns would be their position in custom loadouts or ordinance drops. They are a bit too strong to be a normal secondary weapon, but dont have the strength to be considered an ordinance weapon either. I have 2 different ideas that could be implemented to allow these weapon to be a part of the gameplay. I'm not sure how much they would affect gameplay, so i was hoping to get some other opinions on my ideas 1) pairs of identical submachine guns are put as an option in odinance drops. Only when selecting these weapons, a player would be capable of duel weilding when using those weapons. A player could still carry both if they switch to the other weapon their are carrying. Meleeing would not force the player to drop one of the guns, but grenades can't be thrown. submachine guns can be swapped for others if they are found on the ground from fallen enemies 2) carrying a submachine gun becomes an armor ability. When this ability is in a loadout, a player can place an submachine gun of choice into a third weapon slot. So a player can have their primary and secondary weapons as well as a submachine gun. tapping the Y button would switch weapons normally, holding down the Y button will switch to the third weapon slot. Y button could be tapped again to revert to regular weapons. The third weapon slot can not be swapped for other weapons on the battlefield and can not be duel wielded. These guns would run at recharge rates instead of ammo, because other armor abilities are not limited to a certain amount of uses. 2 clips/plasma overheats can be fired off before ability must recharge i just want to see if these ideas sound like they are balanced. I think it would be cool to have them in the game

the assualt rifle is a primary weapon for loadouts. 343i tried to keep the weapons as balanced as possible without making them all too similar. If the assault rifle was weaker, it couldnt compete with other weapons like the DMR except at point blank range. If this was the case, no one would use the weapon and it would have no purpose in cutsom loadouts. the prupose of its strength is to keep it on a level that it can compete with other primary loadout weapons

thanks. i'm just trying to support 343 as much as i can. They've gotten so much negative feedback and i do feel bad, but they have some great potential

Should the UNSC have laser and Plasma weapons ?
Victory Element replied to vStealthYx's topic in Halo 4
spartan laser and guass hog -
some people just dont seem to understand the prupose of the boltshot. It is meant to be a counter to close range power weapons so players arent completely helpless. Going into a building with an enemy possessing a shotgun used to be near impossible until the guy ran out of ammo. Now, players stand more of chance against power weapons, and opponents wont be getting running riots with personal ordinance drops

i think the magnum is stronger than it should be actually. In swat it works extremely well, and in slayer, i've been killed by guys with magnums when i have a DMR because it has such a high rof

each person has a special calling to a weapon given to them by the halo gods. It could be either

trolling in what sense?? gameplay or verbally?

throwback skins. lol

ordinance should probably be removed all together. Except for the random weapon drops that occur throughout the game

i was going to say that holograms start to fade when they get shot, but i saw that azzy cleared it up

The Good adrift is probably the best map. I havent heard anyone ever say they dont like it. vortex and ragnarok are fun for big team The bad shatter has an odd layout with too much vehicle action complex is too big for 4v4 games and doesnt have good gameplay. abandon is just plain bad The ugly exile and haven were once fun, but extremely overplayed now

i think this is one of the most underrated gametypes in halo 4. It requires a balanced amount of both skill and strategy, with more than one objective for your team to focus on at a time. CTF, oddball, and KOTH have one main objective that both teams are fighting for, which takes away some of options. Its a lot more fun when youre playing with people that you know and can work together with.... but then again, i won a game in under 1 min with a team of randoms.... i guess this game is a lot more flexible when it comes to teamwork

i saw this a while back, and i guess it hasnt been discovered why these AI units have organic looking arms

its too late to make any changes to it now. But just look at this

i'm with you on this. Halo 4 was their first halo game as a company, and the flaws have been pointed out. Let them fix it up and expect halo 5 to be great

honestly i dont mind the elites, but seeing them in war games isnt likely to happen. This is the first time that the halo multiplayer has a background story to the multiplayer to give it some meaning. War games are supposed to be training simulators for spartan IVs aboard the infinty. It wouldnt make sense to toss in elites as playable characters in war games playing as elites in spartan ops would not make much sense either considering you fight against elites 50% of the time. I understand that the storm and other elites have extremely different values, but its like trying to make master chief fight against other spartans in campaign....it just wont feel right 343 has their story laid out already, but that doesnt mean that there is no hope. Who knows.....they may find a loohole in all of this
-
yes the game does have numerous flaws, but look on the bright side..... it can only get better now that 343i has had some criticism. It was their first halo game, and now that the major defects are pointed out, they can work to fix those and make halo 5 much more enjoyable. 343 has a lot of potential, and this was an excellent learning experience for them. Just stay positive

I didn't think that was possible either, but I guess u may just have to fool around with settings and stuff

i know exactly what youre talking about, but its not a major problem. It happens to everyone at some point or another, and its normally just an accident or miscommunication

i have had similar problems recently too. It just seems that i have "off days", when i play terrible and go negative almost every game. It feels like im always doing something wrong and my head just isnt in the right place even though im trying really hard. Then i start getting extrmely frustrated at everything that happens in a game which is no fun. so i either just stop playing for the rest of the day, or i just do spartan ops or something. by the next day im normally back at my regular skill level and enjoying myself once again. Since you have had this problem for 3 days now, i would reccomend taking 3 days off. It may be somewhat of a sacrifice, but its the only remedy i can offer you. After a few days, you should feel fresh again and have more confidence than if you just continued playing. It has always worked for me, and a fresh start helps a lot

i've had plenty where im walking one way, them i get moved like 10 feet back, then i end up 20 feet in the direction i was going originally. Its so annoying sometimes, but i havent had anything as bad as you lol
