Destiny Drawing Board: Conduit F3!
Victory Element replied to VinWarrior's topic in General Discussion
These fusion rifles sound like the equivalent of plasma weapons in halo, just to add diversity to our armory -
Population will easily be higher. Rather than just appealing to the halo fans, destiny will be get plenty of attention from both halo, cod, and any other fps fans

If you're still interested, check out the portal series or Batman Arkham city. Those are my personal recommendations and they should be cheap As self destruct said, you could also check out red dead redemption and LA noire which are very fun too

The title says it all. I haven't really established whose going to have my back against the swarms of the hive or the fallen or the cabal yet. I'm sure i'm not the only one looking for a fireteam, so it would be great to fight alongside fellow members of the community. I am a team player for the most part, but there is some criteria that will have to be met to form a fireteam. 1) At this point, i'm about 80% sure I will be playing destiny on the xbox 360. The other 20% would be in the case that I get an xbox one for Christmas. So to be in a fireteam, i'm sure we'll have to be on the same console 2) I want to have good strategic chemistry in the fireteam. To help balance out the strengths of the team, I would like to know what class each player would like to play as and discuss styles of play. I don't have any specific requirements for class and play style, but if you're interested in playing together, we can work out our chemistry at some point. We could discuss our strengths and weaknesses, and hopefully adapt to become successful 3) I don't want to be stuck playing by myself most of the time, so as last priority, I was hoping to find some players who would be on destiny around the same times I am. I normally can only play on weekends because of my schedule, so as long as you're available most weekends, that's prefect. Afternoons are normally the best time of day for me, but i'm in the central time zone, so keep in mind that that is normally the evening if you're in Europe Well, that's about it. If anyone is interested, just leave information below such as your console, player class, play style and times that are convenient for you to play. *This thread doesn't just have to be for my own fireteam. Anyone can use this to form their own groups with others, but please just use this to share the general information. If you are interested in negotiating with other members, a group PM would be best for that*

Prometheans need to be more scary
Victory Element replied to SweatedQuasar08's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
That seems logical, but what other locations would serve as homes to the prometheans? I can understand them originally being on requiem to make sure the Didact isn't released from his cryptum, but where else would they be needed? I'm actually recovering from a concussion so i'm having trouble thinking straight. I would normally have figured this stuff out by now, but i'm a little slow. I would really appreciate if you could explain some answers and reasoning please -

Destiny Codes (the ones from GamesCom)
Victory Element replied to Fuzzle's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for your generosity. Can the codes be used by multiple people though? -

Hopefully I can make an appearance at the staff v members playdate. Its good to know that community events are returning, even though I am normally never there because of my schedule. And I'd like to see the staff team play without GSD for a few. I will admit that he is quite the halo player, but the staff won't be able to hold themselves together without him....

@chuey recluse Thanks for the support! I have figured out that fan fiction isn't as easy as it sounds, just like you put it. My characters are completely made up though, and should have no effect on the real events in the halo universe. The hard part is finding locations that actually exist in the halo universe to use, and finding motives for certain characters that make sense with the information that already exists. But as I said, my story is going to be serious for the most part. I don't think that our desires really cross paths, so I feel that exchanging ideas will not accomplish much. I've got nothing against the comical side of halo though. I would love to hear what you can come up with, so let me know if you are going to be doing any writing

You brought up a good point zebra. I will make a "table of contents" with links to each chapter. I also will try to create a short "glossary" at the end of each chapter to explain certain references to halo fiction and leave links to sites like halopedia for more information. Also, if it wasn't clear, I intend to make this a serious story. It's not just for kicks and humor

Hello all, it's been a while since i've hung around here and posted like I used to do, but I briefly return with an idea in mind. Lately, I've been brainstorming and creating a bunch of halo fiction in my imagination that's mixed with concepts from other movies/books that intrigue me. I've begun to create rough outlines of a "plot" and a few character ideas. So, i've been debating if I should try to develop an actual story out of my ideas so far, and this seems like the right place to come to. The most convenient way for me to bring this story to life would probably be making episodic posts in the forums, with each post containing the next piece of the story in chronological order. Currently, i'm recovering from a concussion, so I cannot spend much time on a computer. I can use this time to add more detail to my plot and characters. I can probably begin the posts in a few weeks. Also, I am not an experienced author, so this may not be the highest quality work. My motives are purely for entertainment and having a good experience as well. I will try to deliver a good experience to the readers and I have very high standards for the quality of my work. I hope to capture many dark, mysterious events that could often be found in a survival/horror genre, but still hold the majestic side of halo fiction within the roots. I will aim to develop strong, relatable characters that will bring out the full potential of the storytelling as well. So, the question here is, would an anyone read it? i'm looking to see anyone would have interest in following this story as I post episodic chapters of this plot. I would try not to make the chapters long and time consuming as they are released, but I hope to fill each with a satisfying amount of content. Leave a response with any thoughts of this plan. Does it sound engaging? Or is this not a good idea? Why? Any feedback is appreciated, thank you for reading

Prometheans need to be more scary
Victory Element replied to SweatedQuasar08's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Considering that requiem crashed into a star with all of the prometheans inside of it, I wouldn't expect to see them back anytime soon -
343i incapable of balacing a game?
Victory Element replied to xbone4life's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
343i should seriously run beta testing, because players would easily be able to identify unbalances on maps and weapons once they play for a while- 10 replies

Arbiter attacked by unknown enemies
Victory Element replied to Seeker of Truth's topic in General Discussion
No, the precursors actually intended for humanity to inherit the mantle. The forerunners became enfuriated when they discovered this, so they rebelled against the precursors and sought to wipe them out. Since the rebellion, the forerunners assumed that they held the mantle. But now, since the forerunners are practically extinct, I believe that the mantle is now in the hands of its original heirs -
For the OP, 1 destiny will have a gambling system for players to interact and exchange weapons and so on 2 There should definitely be space battles, or else there would be no point of flying a personal shop and customizing it 3 destiny shouldn't need any updates for quite a while. They have designed the game to have so much content that it can entertain for multiple years 4 i'm sure everyone will earn one of these at some point 5 I haven't heard anything about training courses at all, but there is a whole game mode with the title of strike that should be fun

Arbiter attacked by unknown enemies
Victory Element replied to Seeker of Truth's topic in General Discussion
I have a feeling that the precursors will be brought back into play because of the actions of ONI. Humanity was originally destined to inherit the mantle from the precursors, which means protecting and preserving the life of the galaxy. Humanity is now on a "power trip" and they feel they can do whatever they please because of the resources that they now have. Actions such as destroying the Sangheili's food supply is a direct violation of the morals of the mantle though. From what I understand, there were precursors that fled the galaxy or went dormant in hiding after the forerunners began to wipe them out. I'm sure that humanity will catch their attention very soon with their actions, so the big dogs may just return to keep things in order -
Commanding Allies with your Voice (kinect)
Victory Element replied to TyranicSlayer's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
if anyone can turn the xbox on with voice commands through kinect, i don't see why they couldn't be used in a game too. They wouldn't include the kinect with every xbox one if it wasn't capable of facilitating different accents and languages. Slang would not be an issue either. Voice commands require a specific combination of words, it doesn't read your mind. It simply would not react to slang because it won't register with any of the available commands -
The main characters in the Web series Forward Unto Dawn are surely involved in some sort of cadet program. The base is filled with adolescents learning to use UNSC weaponry and tactics. I'm also sure that the UNSC had to begin an immense military draft after they discovered the covenant

I guess we will get to go hunting for "skulls" like we got to do in halo, but to a much larger extent

Commanding Allies with your Voice (kinect)
Victory Element replied to TyranicSlayer's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
It doesn't need to utilize motion gaming. If you read my post, you could see that it is actually best suited for using voice commands -
Review and Thoughts on the Champions Bundle
Victory Element replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
yes, vortex is the BTB map with the dark, rocky landscape and a forerunner "ship" or structure in the center of the map. also, saving your money on this DLC is good idea if you generally don't play halo 4. I think this pack was meant to treat the fans that have remained loyal to the game with some small additions, rather than try to bring back their old fanbase -
Commanding Allies with your Voice (kinect)
Victory Element replied to TyranicSlayer's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
i don't think that calling in backup would always be realistic, because master chief has always been more a lone wolf. but when he does work alongside the marine AIs, having some commands would be a great addition. "I'll drive" or "I'll gun" are simple ideas that would add more engaging experience to the campaign. Personally, i would to be able to command marines in small fireteams when they are around me. Similar to the fireteam tags in reach, any marines around you would be added to your fireteam and would follow your commands during combat. Simple commands would include "push forward" (AIs gradually advance on object while firing) or "hold position" (AIs do not advance but defend against enemies). These commands could simply be cancelled by saying "check, check" to have AIs resume their regular combat habits. More complex commands could also be added by designating targets or positions with your own reticule. By pointing your reticule at key position on a battlefield and saying "move out" your fireteam will move to designated area and hold that area until they are "checked out". By aiming your reticule over an enemy target and saying "focus fire", your fireteam will focus their fire on the designated enemy target until it is eliminated or they are checked out
