  1. I thought it would be a good idea to hear some opinions and comments about the recent release of the champions bundle. I plan to give my own review here and i would love to hear what others have to say about this DLC release The Good Weapon Skins- Adding new weapon skins into the game was a smart idea on 343i's part. Weapon skins allow for more in depth player personalization, that can actually be viewed in the first person perspective. the new skins are creative and overall well designed. The steel skin pack has skins available for EVERY loadout weapon, and this style adds an almost "bioshock" look to them. The black with some worn down, gold details gives a unique style to weapons and is new compared to usual sci-fi design of halo weapons. Other skins were also included with the bundle for the BR, magnum, and AR. The BR and magnum skins are simple, but still have a unique feeling to them. The AR skins are extremely cool and intimidating, with the blood stain and shark head Stances- New stances were another good add on for halo 4. They allow the player's spartan to have much more personality customization options. Stances range from heavy combat, to cocky, or relaxed within a few scrolls of the menu. Maps- it is always good to add new DLC maps into a game, but it is possible that these new maps could be thrown into the dumps just as the previous halo 4 DLC ones were. Otherwise, the maps are great addition. Bringing back one of the most popular maps in halo was a good idea, because who could say they don't like it?? The completely new map will be a cool change to halo. The electric shocks on the main platforms will provide a new experience in halo because players will have to interact with the map to gain an advantage Ricochet- when i first saw gameplay of ricochet, i thought it was a such a clever gametype to add into halo. I have not yet gotten the chance to play it, but the concept of the game is creative and requires much strategy and teamwork The Bad Bugs- there have been many bugs and glitches reported with the release of the champions DLC. New weapon skins can't be used in spartan ops, and the new armors show up as other types of armor during online matches. Some players have even had problems accessing their xbl accounts and playing in matchmaking. You can read more about these in this thread http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/30910-halo-4-champion-bundle-issues/?do=findComment&comment=278747 The Ugly New Armors- At first, adding new armor types into halo seemed like a great concept. The pictures shown of the new armors were very clear and made the armor look nice and fresh. after going to check these armors out for myself, i was very disappointed with their turnout. All of the new armor is very "round" and bulbous. It looks almost unfinished compared to the other armors that are already in the game. they look like they are still in stages of development and their details are no where near as precise as the old armors. Others may have the complete opposite opinion, but i feel that 343i did not put very much effort into these armors and they lack in graphic quality Stance Glitches- i know that this is not a very big issue, but it appears as a pet peeve to me. It completely ruins a stance when the chin of a helmet can be seen sticking through the shoulder or chest piece because of angle of the stance. Overall In the end, 343i did not do a bad job with the champions bundle. New customization features and multiplayer content is always good for the long term enjoyment of a game. 343 has made some big changes to halo, and they have shown that they can do well when it comes to the big picture. But once again, it is the small details that killed this DLC addition. Its the simple things such weapon balance and good servers that hold a game together. 343i puts out a lot of great things that generally would please fans, but they cannot be enjoyed much when the small details are not catered to. As i said before, 343i has a good grasp on the big picture of halo, but they need to put more focus on the small tedious things to hold the bigger concepts together that is my unprofessional review of the champions bundle. If i left anything out or you would like to share your own thoughts, please leave a response below. I would love to hear what the rest of the community thinks of this DLC
  2. I don't understand why they need the join in progress system. Yes, playing a game with half of a team is quite disappointing, but players just dealt with it in the past. With the join in progress system, players are almost always put into games on the loosing team. Players from the wining team rarely quit. it also encourages players that it is "okay" to quit, because they will just get replaced after leaving a game. In the end, this system has caused more issues than it has solved, so I say it needs to go
  3. These prices are quite high.... Not sure if I can afford a special edition because the next gen consoles will cost a lot too. But there are some very cool items in these packs
  4. red death seems too gory for my tastes, but I can't wait to discover the other exotic weapons for myself
  5. Sprint has completely changed the flow of gameplay. As red said, players can swiftly travel across an entire map at ease. 343i specifically stated that they wanted to make gameplay of halo 4 very fast paced, and sprint does just that. It gets players back into the action as quickly as possible, but it becomes quite a bother when it is used to escape from a firefight
  6. I'd say halo 3, because it was the first halo game that I ever played and I instantly fell in love with the series after playing it
  7. We haven't even seen half of the life that lives in our own oceans! Who are we to consider extraterrestrial life impossible??
  8. I don't think that assassinations should fail, because that is completely unfair to the attacker. If they were able to successfully flank their enemy, they should be rewarded for their move. This also gave me a new idea though. What if there was a support or tactical package that allows the user a chance to escape an assassination. At the beginning of the assassination, the player will have to press a certain button at lightening speed to escape it. Their player animation will then "block" or evade the assassination and turn the player to face their attacker. Then the gameplay would return to its normal dynamics
  9. Thank you for speaking everyone's own words for them. I never knew that your opinion represented the entire halo community, being that everything you stated started with the words "we want" And if you would like something, at least ask for it nicely
  10. It sounds as if it could be a fun experience, but it is harder than it seems to include human and AI players in a game. In Spartan ops with just 4 players on the same team, there was almost a case of lag in every game. With the next gen xbox coming out, something like this might be possible without all of the connection issues though
  11. I don't think that this is likely, being that they fought side by side for almost all of halo 3
  12. If the flood is used appropriately, they are a great addition to the game. In missions like Cortana, from halo 3, the food was somewhat "abused" and the mission lost a lot of favor. When missions consist of both flood and covenant enemies, it keeps things more bearable to the player, and provides a better experience of the flood
  13. I can see that you put a lot of creativity into this idea. Besides some of these being way overpowered in reality, it was a great read for me. My favorite idea that you came up with, was the personal AI that would call out enemy activity throughout the game
  14. Oh, and one more thing that battlefront desperately needed, was melee combat between infantry units
  15. I am interested to see how they design different categories in this new battlefront. In the old battlefronts, I remember designing a "playlist" of maps and gametypes for offline play, and it would just cycle through those large battlefields with mainly AIs. There was something similar to a campaign in battlefront II, but nothing near the standards that gaming has now. I want to know if dice will create a unique campaign and separate multiplayer, or if the gameplay will still revolve around large battles against AI forces... there isn't really much that I can wish for until I understand the layout of the game. The game could modernize drastically, or stay close to it's original values. Because of this, the map layouts could be completely different, weapons could become more limited, and player customization might come into play. Once more details are released, I will have a much better idea of what to wish for As for now, I just wish that they bring back those large AI filled battles as the main gametype
  16. I am more curious about why chief would even be seeking mendicant bias....
  17. I have no idea this early on. I would like to know if destiny will work cross-gen between xbox 360 and xbox one
  18. Here are some pictures of things in both halo and destiny that seem extremely similar to me. I am not accusing destiny of "copying" any of these things from halo, they just appear to be very similar by coincidence. I am just making this thread for pure fun, i am not trying to convey some sort of point throughout this This first look-alike is between the Didact's cryptum (halo 4) and the Traveler (destiny) Despite some immense size differences, both objects appear relatively similar. Both large and mechanical looking, and both hold immense power The next loo-alike is between the halo 4 shotgun and a couple of the shotguns that are in destiny please disregard the rifles that are shown in the destiny picture. The design of the shotguns in general all seem very similar to the halo 4 shotgun cosmetically the final look-alike for today is between cortana and the Awoken race in destiny both of these women share similar facial features and the mysterious blue glow of their skin That is all that i have for now. I can always update this thread if i find anything else that is similar looking between halo and destiny. Also, feel free to add your own pictures of things that you find to be look-alikes. Hope you guys enjoyed this short article
  19. It reminds me a bit of Lost Planet 2 if anyone has ever played that multiplayer before. The combination of mech suits and infantry combat is a lot of fun if things are balanced
  20. If every teammate has 10-15 kills, that is a sign of good teamwork if you are just playing team slayer. One player should not have to carry a team
  21. It was a bargain that I couldn't resist, lol. $99 for a 320gb hard drive. And I really did end up enjoying the game too
  22. I have the third one, because it came pre installed on a hard drive that I bought. But, I have never been able to figure out how to play with others over xbox live
  23. I have never used these grenades, nor do I plan on using them. the only advice that I can think of, is going into objective playlists and throwing those grenades on the objective. An example being, tossing one into a hill controlled by enemy players
