  1. Playing against players of a I higher skill level, I rarely see anyone using plasma grenades, nor do I use them myself. Frags seem much more versatile for different combat situations. Their ability to bounce makes them more than helpful when enemies are behind cover, and the damage radius is larger than the other grenade types. When I started playing halo 4, I used stickies because they always seemed fun in past halos. After watching some mlg gameplay, I noticed that most of the pros used frags. I decided to try them out for while, and I have been very successful since then. I have exposure to both types of grenades, and I believe that frags are the superior choice.... At least for my play style
  2. I actually just found a video that explains 3 armor mods which were not put in the final version of halo 4 https://www.youtube.com/embed/iSSyMJ2ej_I The first one seems very noobish, and the rest seem like they would become very annoying to the user after a while
  3. The battle rifle seems to be the most proficient loadout weapon, so that is why most players use it. When playing with the assault rifle, you need to learn how to navigate the map to avoid long/mid range combat. The assault rifle is far superior to the other loadout weapons in close quarters combat. Learn how to draw players into confined spaces on maps and do not stay out in the open for long. It takes some time to learn, but this play style should help you become more successful with the AR Good luck
  4. Would you be able to switch between your Spartan and elite at any point in time, or only after you max one out?
  5. I couldn't agree more bacon, and the forge firefight topics have become quite tedious
  6. none of us are "343 members" here, this is just a community forum Anyways, I think that having the magnum has made CTF more enjoyable for large amount of the community. It has always been quite boring to carry a flag being completely defenseless, so 343I wanted to improve the game for the flag carrier. Flag juggling was never meant to be in halo. The flag was designed to simply be carried by a player, but juggling was a trick that happened to make the carrier move faster. Bungie didn't intended the gametype for juggling, it was something that fans did on their own
  7. I don't think adding new medals will affect halo's population at all, and it is rare enough already to get a killionare
  8. I can see that you did put some sufficient effort into this. I do think it would very cool to have 2 separate species to level up with throughout the game, but a few of the "specialization" perks may cause some issues or be underpowered
  9. It seems odd that a rank like ranger, is considered higher than ranks like zealot and chieftain. Very.... Colorful..... Too
  10. Check this out for some info http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/30002-3-new-armor-mods-coming/?do=findComment&comment=272678
  11. hello, community. I was hoping to have a few minutes of time so you could read this. I want to help make this section of the forums a more organized place, but it will require participation and compliance from all of you to help accomplish what i am going to discuss. please keep in mind, i am no staff member, so i can do nothing "official" here when it comes to making a policy in recent times, i have frequently come to check out the halo 5 section of topics. As i scroll through the list of topics, i see numerous new threads every day, and many of these threads have a reply count between 2 and 6. The next day, i see these same threads being pushed further down on the list of topics, by topics of their same nature. And the cycle seems to continue, again and again. This is completely natural for some topics to "die down" and make their way to the back of the line, but the situation here has gone out of hand. What i am referring to, is the dreaded "wish list" for future halo games. I am not directing this at anyone specific, but these topics have become a "group effort" that i am even guilty of myself. Both creating these extremely similar threads and replying in them has added to the cycle of disorganization. These wish lists often consist of extremely similar content to everyone other one made. They tend to revolve around, the arbiter, driveable pelicans, playable elites, flood firefight, and many other things. It has become painful for me to read these threads, day after day, only to see the same thing said by a different person each time. There is a difference between a creative new idea for halo 5, and cliche idea that has been posted a hundred times over. If you have a clever idea, Share it!! things like new weapon designs, or a unique plot speculation are always good. But, be sure that your idea has not been shared by another person already. Having the arbiter in campaign is not your own creative idea. If someone has already started a thread about your interests, just add a reply to it rather than making another "wish list" At a certain point, these wish lists become ignorant and selfish. Rather than searching for thread about some new ideas for halo, you feel that you should make your own. You have deemed yourself "too good" to reply to someone else's thread, and you feel that you should go on to put your ideas into the spotlight. You should realize that it will only waste other people's time, and it will add more mess to clean up around the forums. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion or an idea, do not get me wrong. But when you feel that your opinion or idea is more important than someone else's, that is when you cross the line. If an idea has been shared before, why should you have to repeat it again, in your own words?? For a little comic relief (i hope), i will attempt to make a metaphor for this situation. there is a table, full of donuts, bacon, or whatever food you happen to be craving. This table is completely covered with the food. You are organizing a party, and this table will provide food for the party. You know that your guests will bring food along with them to offer to everyone as well. Now, when the guests come, do you throw their food on the table that is already overflowing with tasty goodness? Or do you tell them to eat the food that is already on the table, so more room can be made for the other food later? Yes, you need to eat the food that is already there before you can put more out I hope that was understandable. The table representing this section of the forums, and the food representing the topics I hope that you can at least see where all of this is coming from. I just want to do what i can to benefit the community as a whole, and i do have good intentions. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, please leave a reply so we can discuss this like normal humans So, before you decide that you want to make a new thread, consider if a similar one is already out there. We have seen enough wish lists with the same content on each one
  12. i think that this post is great. 343i has done so much since the release of the game and this shows that they still care about their fan base. They are listening to what the community wants, but people still complain and are never satisfied. Give them a chance to learn from their mistakes, and a don't just keep burying them under a pile of crap. Give them some respectful criticism and at least provide some suggestions to improve the game. Saying "this map isn't good" will not solve any problems. Saying "this map is not good, because because the power weapon spawns are closer to one team's initial spawn. They should be balanced out more in the middle of the map" is a much better way to accomplish something. They need something to work with, not just a mailbox full of "i don't like it", "i want this", "get rid of this", etc. 343i has to achieve some very high expectations because of the standards that bungie set, and this is very hard to do. Build them up with some confidence and show that you have some hope in them. Tearing down one's self esteem will only lead to more problems and will stunt improvements that could come in the future. It was a big responsibility to pick up on where bungie left off in the halo series, so at least respect them for having the courage to do that
  13. interesting find. glad to see that you've been doing your research Adam
  14. What do you mean by custom designs?? And how would we make our own armor??
  15. Well, I know that ONI is working on operations to wipe out the sangheili, and now they have the big bad infinity..... Anything is possible
  16. I like how you said that this is your story. Bungie always says that this game will let us have our own story, and you're the first that I've seen use this reference
  17. has to be pitfall, because is the pit is a classic in my book
  18. anyone like hip hop/rap music here besides me?

    1. Cooliest

      Cooliest

Idk why no one ever responded to this. but yes I do. :) lol more rap than hip hop.

  19. i could understand why he thinks that, but i hope to clear up some of this confusion there have been quite a few rumors regarding the next halo installment and what its plot will revolve around. One of the largest rumors has been that chief has gone rogue and the UNSC will now be an enemy to him. Even if Chief had to fight the UNSC, he would technically be the "bad guy" considering that he was the one who went rogue. Another reason for this statement might be because of the spartan program. Dr Halsey was arrested for "kidnapping" children for the spartan program and the intentions of the spartan program may conflict with the morals of some people. To clear this one up, the UNSC was not responsible for the spartan program, it was ONI. OnI and the UNSC are separate branches, but both are involved with human military efforts i can't think of any other reasons why the UNSC may be "bad", so i hope this helped
  20. I did hear about this. Hopefully they can create a soundtrack as legendary as halo
  21. I really like this idea that you have done. It seems very original to me and it is much simpler than an entire machinima. as some constructive criticism, you should learn how to lower the weapons of your characters when they are not in combat. I believe that this can only be done when in system link mode, with some complicated button combination. It is just a minor detail that could make these look more professional
  22. I have heard that a fragment of cortana lies in the armor of the Didact and could be used to bring her back
