This is how Halo 5 should be.

Halo 5 Soundtrack, What we Want.
Victory Element replied to TyranicSlayer's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
the soundtrack in any type of visual media stimulates the emotions of a person better than the visuals themselves. The tone of the music does so much subconsciously in our heads, and most people don't even recognize it. A soundtrack is simply overlooked because the player relies on their sense of sight more than hearing, but its effects are evermore present. I will say that 343i did a good job with the music in the final mission of the campaign, when you have to go between the floating platforms to plug cortana into all of those slots. I got goosebumps when i played through that part, and it started to feel like halo again for a few moments. One thing they have to do though, is take out all of the auto-tuning that they did to the people's voices -
I am going to be leaving the game I think. It's time consuming for me and I want to avoid having any unnecessary responsibilities. My life outside of the forums is becoming very tight on time and I have a lot to worry about I did enjoy reading through previous rounds and getting to play in the last round, but I just won't be able to cherish the experience anymore. Best of luck to SEED factor and all participants. I hope the game continues to improve and attract more players. I may tune in occasionally to read some action, and I will see if there's time again to join in the future Good luck, Fear out

The kill cams have always been unreliable in halo 4. They are not worth watching because you know that they will always show the clip "off" from the original footage. As for vehicle splatters, they have been inconsistent with me too. There's not much that anyone can do about it either For your first issue, there is a perk unlocked through the rogue specialization called stability. This keeps your reticule more stable when you are being hit by incoming fire. It can only be put in regular loadouts though, so it won't be accessible in slayer pro or swat As for vehicles, the closest that I can think of is the wheelman perk from operator. This increases the durability of a vehicle when driving it and sometimes prevents it from being EMPed

@SEED factor I'm still not clear with the scenario that a player does not respond to post that involves him. You compared the situation to firing a sniper shot, and then immediately looking for a new target. With all due respect, I just can't comprehend how that solves the issue of a player not responding to an action towards him. When a sniper fires a shot, it is outcome of the shot that determines their actions immediately after. If they score a kill, then they look for a new target. If they miss the shot, then they fire another shot to finish the player. If the other player shoots back, then the sniper will find cover. All of the same applies to this game. If I fire at an opponent, how am I supposed to decide what I do next if don't know the outcome of the shot? Sorry if it sounds like I am always complaining. I sincerely want to make this game the best experience possible, so I am just trying clear up anything that's unclear

I personally do not like having kills and respawns. It ruins the flow of the game and chops up the gameplay into pesky segments for the players who are killed. It takes a lot more time to write out the actions of your character when you have to restart from a spawn, because they were killed. You have to draw your character back into the action from which they just departed, and create a whole new combat scenario for them. Because of the time that this consumes, players have become almost "lazy" with their posts, because they want to get back into the action as soon as possible. Rather than describing their actions and using sensory adjectives, the player just says " my character respawned angry, so he ran and found an enemy player to kill". I don't find that very fun I feel that having no kills keeps the game much more interesting. Players have to come up with creative and clever ways to keep their character alive in the action. They can withdraw from combat at will, rather than being forced to because they got killed in another player's post. It also will keep the game more "modest" and "clean", being that the last death of my character was beyond gruesome.... i am not angry or humiliated, i just prefer not to puke while i am reading this On another note, i think we need to implement some sort of policy for members who are not participating regularly. In the last round, i only had one other teammate that posted, while the other 3 were not heard from once. With the other team having almost full participation, you can easily understand why the blue team was obliterated. That's not fair to the other players on that team, being that they are getting no support Also, with the new skull that takes away auto-hits and god moding, what happens if a player that is attacked does not respond to the post? For example, i post "Fear shot his DMR at Jacob" but Jacob does not reply for duration of that round. That leaves Fear completely helpless and doesn't allow him to make any other moves until Jacob responds with a post describing the outcome. I do really want to have more player interaction between each other, but it will be hard to do with this flawed system Please Read SEED Factor since we are still deciding on some of the rules, why don't we postpone this next round? It's not completely clear how we are interacting with players and the kill/respawn issue yet. I think it would be best to wait for some more feedback about your general concerns before we allow for a new round to start

What Can 343 Do To Make Halo 5 Successful?
Victory Element replied to spartan123's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
First of all, they need to have some sort of open beta to test to game. With halo 4 they had very limited access to test out the game. Because fans got to play one match and then leave, there was not enough time for players to evaluate the game properly. With a short xbox live beta, players would have surely begun to notice the small flaws such as the DMR and boltshot. Players require time to settle into a game before they are able to compare it to what they have played in the past Second, war games should have social and ranked playlists. Need I say much more? -
What would happen to the forums if...

What if the 343I bot has read all of the posts that are drawing suspicion to it and is currently plotting your deaths -
Fear heard listened to steady gunfire in the distance, and noticed that blue team had gained 2 points. "A little teamwork could keep us in this fight" he thought. "i should probably be providing some cover fire, and communicate more with my teammates." he spoke into his coms, "des', spark, i'm going to try to get us a vantage point on this mountain. once i get up there, i will be able to call out hostiles and take advantage of the high ground. Pluton and Jase have been taking a beating on the right flank, so i will try to give them some assistance too. Create a diversion for me, so i can easily clear out any hostiles on the mountain. Fear out" "roger that" said a voice in the coms Fear cautiously advanced towards the base of the steep mountain, with the butt of his DMR pressed into his shoulder, ready to fire in a split second. Nothing fired at him, and he was soon at the foot of the mountain. He soon realized that the slope of the mountain would be too steep to climb on foot, so he let out a sigh, and extended the hardlight blades from his wrists. In one swift motion, he thrust the first blade into the side of the rocks, and pressed hard to ensure that they would not break from his weight. He thrust in his second blade, and began to scale the side of the mountain. Left, right, left right His arms ached as he struggled pull up his body weight, but the thought of his fallen teammates motivated him to finish the climb. The edge of the mountain came into view, and Fear checked his motion tracker one last time to ensure that he would be safe. Clear. He gripped the rigged edge of the cliff with his hand, and pulled himself over in relief. His instinctively rolled into a kneeling position with his weapon ready to fire, but he was met with no hostile attackers. He stayed in crouched position, and slowly strafed along the edge of the cliff in case he needed an exit. "this is too quiet" he whispered to himself. "why wouldn't they have anyone guarding this vantage point?" He activated his promethean vision to make sure there was nobody was hiding, and he checked his thermals to try to find any active camo users. Nothing "Something is not right hear" he spoke into his coms. "Des', Spark, are you engaged with any hostiles right now?" "Negative" said the voice on the other end "I don't...." Fear started to say, then suddenly a red dot appeared on his motion tracker. "i'm being engaged! stand by, i will contact you in a few moments" Fear didn't listen for a response as adrenaline rushed through his body. He looked ahead to find his attacker, but no one was there. He looked up to see a drone charging through the air towards him, energy sword in hand. Fear activated his hardlight blades once again, but he did not react in time to dodge the drone's charge. He blocked the sword, but the creature's momentum knocked Fear off of his feet and sent him tumbling towards the cliff. Fear responded by digging his blades back into the rocks to slow down his momentum as he neared the edge. He slowed to stop, barely before his waistline was over the edge, and he looked up to find his attacker. The drone hovered about 10 feet in front of Fear, so he pulled himself back onto the mountain and stood to his feet. He identified the creature by the name of Cunning, and watched as he clicked his mandibles in disgust. Fear noticed two spartans with red armbands at the opposite side of peak, weapons ready to fire. "back off you meatheads. This is my kill!" screeched Cunning, and the spartans lowered their weapons. "It's a trap! I'm being ambushed by three hostiles on the peak. I need assistance ASAP!" Fear yelled into his coms His plea for reinforcements echoed on the waist of Cunning. The drone held up a small communications device. "I snagged this baby off of your little elite friend. I also took his petty toy to add to my collection of trophies" snarled Cunning "You're nothing but a slave to his race" Fear laughed. "Don't be surprised when your blood is splattered across his dagger" then there was silence. The two stared each other down, waiting for the other to make the first move. Fear was hesitant, but he quickly charged to see how his opponent would react. He didn't know what to expect in this battle, being that he had never engaged a drone with a sword. Cunning blocked off the first swing from Fear's hardlight blades, and counter-attacked with a slash of his sword. Fear ducked, narrowly missing the razor sharp weapon, and backed off so he could strap his DMR onto his back "this sure won't be a gunfight" he figured From the technique that the drone used, Fear recognized that he was using the Sangheili style of sword combat. He had faced elites in sword combat numerous times before, but never an opponent who could fly. After the short pause, Cunning made the first move. He struck with his sword, slashing in a pattern that seemed all too familiar to Fear. He could easily block the strikes from his opponent, but the drone moved so quickly that he could hardly keep up with his maneuverability. Fear decided that he would have to win this battle offensively, so he would have to do something unpredictable. He slowly drew the drone near the edge of the cliff as he continued to ward off slashes from his sword. He turned himself so that the drone was hovering over the the cliff as they both struggled to gain an advantage. Fear's arms were tired from the climb, and the drone's attacks seemed to come harder and harder in his direction. The drone stabbed near his neck, but Fear didn't react in time to fully block the swing. The Energy sword slashed into Fear's left shoulder and pierced the thick armor to his skin. He screamed with pain, and realized that he would only be able to fight with his right arm now. He needed to do something quickly if he wanted to survive this encounter. "live to fight another day" he thought to himself as he struggled to fight off Cunning With some clever thinking, Fear dropped an un-primed grenade at his feet, with his barely attached left arm. Cunning shielded his face expecting as explosion to engulf them both, but their was silence. Fear swiftly grabbed his sidearm from his right thigh, and fired 3 magnum rounds into the skull of the drone. Fear calmly bent over to pick up Des's com and his arum from the limp corpse. "Rest in peace" he grumbled as he fired another round into the body of the dead drone. The two red spartans watched with curiosity, seeing that the grenade had not exploded and killed Fear himself. Fear realized that he would end up dead too if he stayed on the peak with the two enemies. Too late. Within seconds, Fear crumpled to ground full of BR rounds from the spartans who were trained to kill heartlessly. At least he didn't have to feel the agonizing pain in shoulder anymore Fear kills Cunning Blue team +1 Sikslik/ blitz kills Fear Red team +1

If this is true, would you happen to have a source?
-
I think Jacob said that he did not confirm a kill, and he saw his opponent run into a cave to heal themselves after he fired on them. I may be mistaken
-
Is this skull effective now? Or are you just letting us know for future rounds?

Fear noticed a yellow dot on his motion tracker appear behind him. He slowly to turned to face the direction of the respawning player, and soon recognized him as the elite that was recently killed. Fear was still hidden from plain sight, and he was able to distinguish this battle as a type of team slayer. He figured that he would provide cover fire for Des', which was the name that appeared above the elite on his HUD. As he tracked the progress of Des', he noticed a lone Spartan tagged with the name sikslik wearing a red armband. But before he could line up a clear shot with his DMR, sikslik had begun to charge at Des'. Des' hesitated, but soon swiped a hidden blade across the throat of the Spartan, rendering him motionless. The corpse soon faded completely Des' looked calm, and soon began to wipe the blood from his hidden dagger with pride. Fear noticed that blue team had gained a point on the scoreboard. As he was distracted, another Spartan came into view, again wearing a red armband. This one by the name of Jacob. Des' quickly noticed the foe and made an evasive roll to dodge an incineration canon shot. As the ball of fire exploded against the rocks behind Des', the Spartan quickly disappeared into an orange portal. He reappeared behind Des', and disappeared again as the elite turned to find this elusive enemy. Fear noticed that the Spartan was attempting to reload the canon for another shot Fear trained his reticule over the the area where the battle was taking place, and prepared for the next portal to emerge. As he saw the orange flash appear, he quickly fired two rounds into the portal as Jacob appeared. The shots would have hit him straight in the head, but the incineration canon shielded Jacob's face from the bullets. The cannon fell to the ground and Jacob hesitantly lunged back into the portal. He continued to teleport to avoid bring struck by Des', and he nervously searched for the origin of the sudden shots. Fear kept his crosshairs focused right above the idle incineration cannon, knowing that Jacob would attempt to recover it. Once again, the familiar orange color appeared above the cannon, and Jacob quickly reached down grab his weapon. remaining calm and composed, Fear eyed a frag grenade on the equipment belt of the Spartan. Holding his breath, he steadied the crosshairs on the explosive, and pulled the trigger. In a quick flash, the grenade detonated and sent the limp body of Jacob soaring above the peak of the mountain, lifeless. There was a moment of silence around the island, as all movement ceased, and the soldiers stared in awe at the sight of flying corpse. Des', looked confused, knowing that it was not his kill, but he seemed relieved that he was not dead again. Fear smirked beneath his visor, satisfied with his sharp-shooting. He enjoyed having the element of surprise, and he wanted to keep things that way. He slowly rose from his prone position, and reloaded his clip. He bent over, and picked up the bullet casings from his weapon so he would not be tracked. Taking one last look around, he quietly left his hidden spot and moved to a fresh vantage point FEAR kills JACOB, 1 point for BLUE team

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of, "how do they chew their food"

Fear kept a steady pace behind the two life forms with the blue arm-bands. As he came nearer to them, he was able to distinguish one as a Spartan, and the other as a separatist elite. He thought to himself "I can take them both, but i'm better off leaving one alive so I can figure out how the heck I got here." As the Spartan began to stray off his original path, Fear decided to take him out first and isolate his remaining partner. Fear slowly approached the lone Spartan, and lurked behind a flat rock. He extended his hardlight blades, and prepared for quick assassination, but as he looked down to admire the glowing weapons, he realized that he himself was wearing a blue arm-band. He began to second guess his decision As he began to retract the combat blades, a bright orange portal appeared directly behind the Spartan. From the portal emerged a human looking figure welding a massive incineration canon. Before the Spartan could turn to face this foe, the figure had pulled the trigger and the whole area lit up in an orange ball of light. Fear ducked in cover and felt the immense heat penetrate his own armor. As the figure stepped back into the portal, Fear barely caught a glimpse of distinct red arm-band on him. Fear quickly retreated to safe territory. As he lay in the cover of some trees, he watched the elite through the scope of his DMR. the elite had traced back to examine his fallen comrade and seemed not to be alert of his his surroundings Suddenly, a swift creature had flown down from the sky and pounded the elite face first into the ground. Fear recognized the the creature as a covenant done and watched as it thrust an energy sword into the fallen elite. "what have I gotten myself into," he murmured to himself. He had his reticule set up for a clean headshot on the drone, but he did not want to give away his position with the noise "this must be some sort of team game" he figured," and "my teammates were just eliminated in front of my own eyes". But he reassured himself, because he remembered the two other life forms that he had seen with his same blue arm-band
-
A small, blue flash appeared near the rear of the island, and the portal spat out a human figure onto the desolate beachhead. Fear had been thrown like a rag-doll out of the portal and landed head first in the gritty sand. As he came to consciousness, his clever instincts told him to lay low and act as the corpse that he had first appeared as. the HUD display in his helmet slowly flickered back to life, and the motion tracker appeared clear for the moment. Fear glanced up quickly to scan his surroundings with his own vision, and carefully searched for any signs of hostile forces. Clear "Black leader to checkpoint Alpha, do you read me?" *silence "Black leader to checkpoint Bravo, do you read me?" *silence "This is Black leader, does anyone copy?" ..... *silence "Well, it looks like i'm going in blind for now" he thought to himself. He was used to operating without any reinforcements in hostile territory, but there was something..... different.... about this place. With a smirk, he quietly mumbled "no one to cover my six this time, stranded in unknown territory, things just can't get any better". He took once last glance at the rocks surrounding the beachhead before he made his move. Bam! he sprung to his feet like lightning and made a dash behind a rock that would provide him with sufficient cover. He unstrapped the DMR from the sling that hung it across his back, and made sure he had a full clip ready for any hostiles. He wondered if he should use his promethean vision to scan for any life forms, but he figured that it would better if he didn't give away his position with the sound and radar waves that it would make. He quickly turned to face the large mountain in the center of the island, and propped his DMR on top of the rock that shielded him moments ago. As he scanned ahead with the scope, he made out two figures of similar size with blue arm-bands strafing along the left side of the mountain. He decided that he would survey the two figures from a distance before he considers them enemies. He slowly slid his scope towards the right side of mountain to check for any other scouts. He quickly made out two more figures, one being much larger than the other, and both wearing the same blue arm-bands as the two on the left of the mountain. knowing that he won't show up on other motion trackers, Fear smoothly vaulted over the rock landing without a sound, and swiftly made his way behind Spark and Des' Xavum.

yep. the question is as simple as that. How the heck do they eat?? They have split bottom jaws, so you would think that the food would fall from the gap in middle of their mouth anyone happen to know this??

well, it looks as if i am joining just in time for the start of round 3. Anyways, here is my character Name: Fear Prefered Weapon: DMR/Magnum Race/Occupation: Human, Spartan I participant, rogue from UNSC, mercenary Power(1): promethean vision Power(2): not visible on radar(except when using PV) Power(3): hardlight blade in both wrist armor pieces. Contract and retract at will of the user Bio: An orignal participant of the first Spartan program. This stage of the spartan evolution resulted in a disaster between death, permenant physical damages, and mutations. Few survivors left the program as physically enhanced soldiers, the most well known being SGT. Avery johnson. Another survivor of the experiment was a human known only by the name "Fear". Because of the devastation of the original Spartan experiments and the questionable morals of the program, Fear has separated himself from all of the military branches. As he went to live an isolated life on the far reaches of human territory, he soon became involved with insurrectionist movements against the United Nations. Fear proved himself as far superior soldier compared to his fellow comrades, and soon flew through the ranks of the terrorist-like organization. Once the human-covenant war began, Fear realized that he was working against humanity's only hope of survical as a race, the UNSC. Fear began to lead guerilla strikes with his forces against covenant positions on his home colony known as Scarlett. his forces were able to force a covenant retreat from the colony because of Fear's military brilliance and exceptional comabt skills. Using stolen UNSC and covenant technology, Fear leads his renegade army of mercenaries against the covenant as a solo party. This army has now earned the title of "Dark Justice" and is infamous for its stunning guerilla strikes, and simply "disappearing" moments after. The arsenal of Dark justice has grown rapidly, but still has the size to go unnoticed by massive armies. Members of Dark Justice are trained to operate human, covenant, and forerunner weaponry with extreme skill and use their "ghostlike" skills to gain an advantage over physically superior foes Special Weapons precision artillery strikes (via target locator), sabotage of military bases, stealth bombing insertions Appearnance: Fear is quite the mysterious figure. He is war tattered and built like a bull, yet he is stealthy and extremely calm. He doesn't speak frequently and is calm under pressure. His armor is sharp and distinct like that of an elite, but remains metallic black with a shimmering gold visor. his wide shoulders are covered by pointed shoulder plates which make him appear even more menacing. no living witnesses have seen what lies behind the visor of his helmet I will not make any moves until i am placed on team. Please do not attack me until i am able to make a move

this is interesting. I'm american, but i'm spending my 4th of July in Italy

I wouldn't mind that at all. I always did love that part at the end of reach

Also part of my inspiration @wombat you are correct sir. But like bacon said, it would end up way too much like star wars battlefront if it involved starships. I just wanted to put a twist on this I guess to keep it unique If only it was possible to create objectives that need to be destroyed in forge mode or in the game settings New idea, is it possible to make a king of the hill mode where certain hills can only be captured by one team in specific?? If so, a gametype like this can probably be made in forge, with the objectives becoming hills on the opponent's ship
-
I recently read a thread that discussed implementing a type of amphibious vehicle or boat into halo. This lead me to come up with a what i think is a terrific idea, so figured that this needs its own thread. The other thread was just some inspiration for me, but trust me, this is worth reading This idea is a new gametype that would be based on oceanic battles. I have not come up with a name for it - 2 teams - 8 players per team - each team spawns with a "battleship" - battleships remain stationary at a reasonable distance from each other - each battleship will spawn with mounted turrets(normal and rocket), flying vehicles, and powerful man-canons -each ship has vital points, such as a bridge, engine room, communication structures, etc. the objective of the game is to destroy vital points on your opponent's ship to "sink" them. Points are earned by destroying the objectives, assisting in destruction, or killing opponents that are attacking your objective, as well as all of the basic stuff. the vital points are heavily shielded, so it will require multiple players to destroy an objective. Some objectives will be exposed to the air, so they can be attacked by flying vehicles, while others will be in bowels of the ship in a more confined environment Teammates will have to work together to coordinate "raids" on the opponent's ship to attack single or multiple objectives at once. man-canons will act as the main form of transportation between ships, but a vehicle such as the falcon can transport players as well. man-canons will be spread out along ships to provide multiple points of entry and provide raids that are not always predictable some(but not all) objectives will be exposed to the surface of a ship, so they can be attacked with air vehicles. Banshees can be used to attack these objectives, or whatever UNSC vehicle happens to be flyable. mounted turrets on ships will provide anti-air defenses. for some final details to clear up any ideas that may seem controversial: - no ordinance weapons will spawn to prevent camping man-canons -ships will be far enough apart that players will not be able to damage each other from their home ship this mode can be done as a regular gametype, but i thought it needed to be better. How about this is done invasion style?? And more loadouts for each race can be unlocked by destroying objectives I am open to any questions, thoughts, and concerns. I would also love to hear some feedback about this idea
