Many of these ideas sound "fun", but in reality they would devastate the success of the next halo game. the dynamics and flow of the gameplay need to be considered immediately, and many of these ideas only sound like good ones until you imagine that your opponent gets their hands on it. Don't get me wrong, some of these ideas are very creative, but thinking realistically, they would do more harm than help

I think weapon skins should be easily available through commendations, just as new armor skins are already
-
Bayonets would be a nice addition as ordinance or an armor ability. a bayonet is a knife like blade that is attached to barrel of a gun for close quarters combat
-
This is actually a very reasonable and unique argument that I have yet to see. 343I set out to create a more fast paced battlefield with their new features. A lot of new weapon dynamics were implemented in order to narrow the advantage between a regular player and one with a power weapon. This has taken away much of the value of acquiring a power weapon and players are able to counter it immediately from the spawn. Having more creativity and customization seemed to be a positive change, but it eventually backfired on 343i. As the op said, the noobs are easily able to ruin the success of a skilled player by taking advantage of what they have been given.

Bagels One Year And Still Going...

Don't forget about about jumping. halo definitely copied that idea
-
That sounds unusual considering you were that close to the opponent. Bullet spread is probably not the issue in this case, so my best guess is you have a lag problem. The frame rate has probably been delayed so your target is not actually in the position that you are firing at

This is too funny, but someone needs to take initiative and point out the obvious here incineration canon: Mario is not the only other game with fire balls in it. I also never knew that flowers could detonate an entire tank with a ball of fire. Just kidding, only incineration cannons can do that Jet pack: um, why are you blaming 343I for them? Bungie implemented them into halo reach years before. Also, what's a good sci fi game without a jet pack Sprint: this is literally available in any good shooter on the market Mantis: ok, it can stomp? How often does that really get used when it has a missile pod and chaingun on either arm? Didact: why would a supreme forerunner general walk to his destinations when he has a flying cryptum to transport him? and of course, star wars copied Mario too because Darth vader travels in the death star, duh Watchers: yes, and wild birds are obviously copied from Mario because they come out of the sky

I would have recommended the blade that extends from the promethean knight's arm, but that is no fun with an energy sword also. possibly a bayonet type of blade that could be attached to your primary weapon

One thing that truely was a disadvantage to halo 4 was the lack of an open beta. Halo 4 was playable at conventions and such, but it did not give individual players a chance to thoroughly experiment with the game. Because play time was very limited, it was hard to provide 343i with any sort of criticism to improve within the game. This is something that i feel caused both the DMR and boltshot controversies. Gameplay dynamics were hard to notice because it was a brand new experience for anyone who tried out the game, so these flaws went unnoticed in the development stage. If 343i allowed for an open beta for halo 5, this would be very beneficial to them. Players would be able to settle into the game and begin to point out any flaws that they may notice. It would also be very entertaining to the fan community as well thoughts?

Well, when I read "new map pack", I immediately thought "no!" Because the new maps are rarely options in matchmaking votes. They seldom make an appearance, despite the fact that a few of them are quality maps. As for the retro map pack, I would love to have one, but it can't happen. Unfortunately, 343I would have to synchronize the maps with up to date gametypes, replace vehicles that are no longer in the game, and enable the new ordinance system. I do truly miss some of those maps though Your second idea is actually very interesting. It would create a very diverse battlefield, but it would be a challenge to find enough players to populate the area while having a stable connection. Another issue would be the fact that many of the maps take place on completely different planets. But I do think this idea is clever

Our May 2013 Member of the Month!
Victory Element replied to RedStarRocket91's topic in Announcements
I have never gotten to know you personally from the time that either of us have been members here, but I do understand all of the time that forgers take out of their lives to create new halo experiences. I am not necessarily a forger myself, but I have grown to appreciate all of the effort and passion that some put into their work. If you have been selected as a mom, it is clear to me that you have tremendous talent and dedication in the work that you do. Being the previous month's mom, I pass this title down to you with honor and respect. I may not be familiar with you or your work, but earning this title can be a great reflection of a person. Enjoy your month of glory, and best of luck to you -

Well, I guess it's goodbye. Being mom was truly a great experience while it lasted. Best of wishes to whoever our new mom shall be. Wear that title with honor and humility -
I think that the new CSR system has been screwing up the skill level of most people's opponents. It takes many games to actually get a high CSR rating, even if you are spectacular at a gametype but have only played a few games there. I don't have a whole lot of time to play halo, but when I do, I generally play well and I am matched with very skilled players. Since the CSR system has been released, I am in lobbies with with guys who have negative KDs and are below SR 50. It seems way too easy, and it takes away opportunities for me to challenge myself and become a better player

I've never seen this before in my time playing halo 4. I thought the game was modified so that firearms and grenades no longer do any friendly damage .... I have seen vehicle splatter betrayals though
-
i do not see the point in returning this gun if there is no ability to duel wield it. There is already a UNSC automatic weapon, so i do not see the point of bringing in a second one if the SMG is too weak on its own. The forerunner surpressor was intended to be an equivelant to the AR and storm rifle, but it just ended up working like an SMG. It was not intended to be that way, so that does not mean that there needs to be a equivilant of it. Dont get me wrong, i love the SMG. I just do not see the point of adding it into halo 4 via DLC. Maybe it will make a return in halo 5...

343i could probably make a halo game that is separate from the Reclaimer trilogy that they are currently working on. I could see a FPS survival/ horror game with the flood involved in it, but then again, it would seem like a spin-off of dead space. Despite the probablility that this wont happen, i still like to fantasy about it....

i've never done much customs in the time that i've played halo, but this seems like something fun to try out

As for firefight, I think that it needs to become more of a survival experience. Halo reach set firefight up with unlimited lives and just encouraged players to rack up multikills and killstreaks. I don't see the fun in just competing for a high score in firefight if that's what regular matchmaking is for. I think players would enjoy the experience much more if the stakes were raised with better enemies and weaker starting weapons. in addition to having limited lives, this would make a great survival experience depending on the maps.

I guess things are hard to put together since the books where released before halo reach. Things seem to be out of place in these events, but it's only logical to assume that Jun would be dead at this point
-
Its okay for everyone to have their own opinion about the game. It's normally just the way that people choose to express those opinions that is completely illogical
-
i know this is an old topic that got people wondering what happened to him after halo reach came out, but please allow me to explain. From the last we saw of Jun, he was assigned to escort Dr. Halsey to Castle base after noble team secured her lab. The solution that i remember hearing was that the pelican that they were on crashed and Jun was killed. I may be wrong about this part, but thats just what i vaguely remember hearing. Now that halo 4 came out, we have seen Dr. Halsey as character in the story, and that she has not perished. Now, how is it possible that Jun died in Pelican crash escorting Halsey, but Halsey is still alive at this point? I did try to do a bit of research about what happened after Halsey was escorted to Castle base. Jun's name was never meantioned in the information that i read, but other spartans played a role in defending Halsey. Castle base was intentionally destroyed by halsey and the spartans to prevent the covenant from obtaining any ONI intel, so they escaped into the abandoned mining tunnels on which the base was built. eventually they were rescued by UNSC forces on a commandeered covenant vessel, which apperntly included Master Chief So to get to the point, i just want to know if Jun had a confirmed death, and why it is possible that Halsey is still alive if he isnt
-
honestly, this is way too soon to start speculating any ideas. We have no general idea of what the plot will even involve, but it will be something worth waiting for when the time comes
-
you need to remember that cortana was a copy of Dr. Halsey, but in the form of an AI. Master chief will probably be searching for way to get Cortana back, and he knows that Halsey is the only person who may be able to do that for him. In the end of spartan ops, it is seen that Halsey has choosen a new side in the fight, as she claims that she wants to seek revenge on the UNSC. Master chief knows nothing of this, so he will be searching for Halsey who is now alligned with the storm. I think that the emotional connection that Halsey has with John will trouble her greatly in her future decision making. Eventually, i think Chief will convince her to turn on Jul Mdama and that her work is truely valued by at least a few people out there
-
I could see many people complaining about that, but i see no reason to complain at all. It will only open new opportunites to the halo universe while using systems that have been implimented in multiple shooters, not just cod. Halo has completely different game dynamics than cod, so this gametype is in no way "copying' call of duty. it is just expanding, or modernizing, the game
