I think you should do more with the starting gate. Maybe individual capsules for people to spawn in.

I think that it should take the picture from an initial loadout camera that is on the map. However i could see problems with this working because the map is not loaded while in lobby.

I dont relly know what to think right now. It is kind of something that you will have to play and see. I like you am pretty shocked that this was implemented. It is not very halo like but could be for the better of competitive play.

I think a spartan puching is like getting hit by a truck. Who knows though. I just hope they put a lot of effort into the classic mode.
