If you've never played it, or have never seen it played, I suggest watching a video or two before making your decision. It's not everybody's cup of tea. I love it, my wife hates it.

Seriously? The articles contradict themselves so many times, it's not even funny. "Do not mess around in vehicles. let experienced players drive and shoot" and then the next one "do not deny access to areas to lower ranking players" - I consider vehicles an area of the game, and you're saying to not let newer players use them, but then not deny them, either. WTF?

I'd say I'm somewhere between a 4 and a 5. I won't say a 5 because there are occasions when I jump, but it's more out of being startled than scared, if that makes sense.

To elaborate, though, the reason for this is frame rate and rendering issues on forge world maps. They don't work well when playing 4-player split screen, and since most of the maps being used anymore are forge world, they've decided to limit the number of local players. I know it sucks, because whenever I have friends over and we're waiting around, we do play Reach online. Now I'm limited to Multiteam, and that's pretty much it.

It's pretty simple, actually. Bungie claimed that canon is as follows: Games > Books. It's an unfortunate truth, but since they started the series, they determine what is and what is not canon, and we have no choice but to accept that fact. 343, on the other hand, is making a play at keeping everything working together, so this issue doesn't come up again. While I feel for you on this one, and I like your argument and your points, and it was a very well written and thought out post, at this point it does not matter. Look at Reach (the game) as it's own entitiy, and leave it out of everything else. A different "reality" or a different version of what could have happened, rather than trying to argue the fact that the book and game are different and that one or the other just can't have happened.

I have a pair of the X12's, and they're great. I don't have any issues with them, other than your ears getting hot from prolonged use. Game audio is clear, and chat is very clear, though can be loud at times. I've only used them in BF3 so far, but everything is very crisp sounding there, I'd assume they'd work well with Halo too. If I had the choice (more like if I had the money), I'd have gone with the X32's, so if you can, spring for them. If not, the X12's are a good second choice for the price.

^ This. But to answer your question fully, no, you shouldn't have any major issues with the hardware, as long as you've taken good care of your XBox. Since I haven't played the game yet, I don't know how completely it will push the XBox, so I can't give you a definite answer in that regard. The only thing to worry about would be overheating, and since I don't know how hot your current XBox gets playing a game, it's hard to say what Halo 4 could do to it. Longer doesn't have to mean more levels, though. Could just be longer missions. Personally, I'd wager that they are going to stick to the 10 mission theme we've seen previously, but the missions themselves are going to be longer.

I really hope it's not all gametypes. I like grenades, they add a tactical advantage, but if I can't pick them up off of dead bodies? They better have a decent placement on the maps, then.

Like Bullet Storm said, it's a server lag issue. It's quite common, and usually will sort itself out given time. It's a pain to have to redo your spartan every time it happens, but it's better than losing everything completely.

Nice job, Biggles. Well thought out and constructed topic, and I understand exactly where you're coming from. I thought the movememnt looked kinda slow myself, but it could have just been the video and a really bad player, but I dunno. Won't really know until we play it ourselves. I agree 100% that the BR needs to be a 4-shot, and I'm still unsure about the perks. I've always been iffy about them, but I hope that they'll be fairly balanced. Starting with two primary weapons could be a really bad thing, though. Larger maps with a DMR & BR start, now we have the best of both worlds....

Unfortunately, the only thing I can say is play with friends when you go on Live. It's the easiest solution. If none of your friends play (all of mine moved on to BF3), then try to make some friends on here who'd be willing to play some games with you. We're a friendly bunch, and we do love Halo.

The problem is when using that feature, it's searching for other people also using that feature, and not that many people do. Sometimes you'll get lucky, sometimes not. But if you're looking at matching up against people of similar skill to yourself, that's a tough one. There is no visible trueskill system, and the way it attempts to make matches can lead to some pretty lopsided gameplay.

It took me a minute to realize what I think he was trying to say. He's trying to use the Search functions in reach, good connection, etc. etc. And they don't always work that great. Sometimes, if it can't find a game with what you want, it just finds a game.
