I wish that were the truth, but Bungie wanted to work on other projects besides Halo (hence Destiny), and Microsoft wanted more Halo games to come out. When it came time for Bungie to renew their contract with MS for Halo, they decided not to, and so MS moved to their own development team, 343. If 343 wanted Bungie to stop "destroying their creation" as you put it, do you think they would have continued down the path that Reach (a Bungie game) had opened? How many people complained about the AA's in Reach? How many loyal Halo fans wanted things like Support Packages and tactical packages? No, I have a feeling this was something beyond 343's own doing, so we'll see what transpires with a H2A.

The unfortunate truth is that most likely a Halo 2 Anniversary will be much like CEA was, in that it will latch on to the Halo 4 multiplayer much in the way CEA latched on to Reach. From a purely business standpoint, that makes the most sense, because if it has its own servers, you are going to completely split your player population (no matter how pitiful it may be already). 343 is going to want to push their new system for as long as they possibly can, because that is what they created. If they did keep Halo 2 completely intact, MP and all, they may get a better realization of what the fans want, though. Imagine for a minute, a Halo 4 server with a population of 10,000 +/-, and a Halo 2 server with a population of over 200,000+. Think that would send a message to 343?

In all fairness Caboose, the OP has a real point. Whether you agree with it or not is a whole other matter. But the real question at hand hasn't even been touched upon, everything has fallen to what the OP feels are flaws with the game, and people agreeing or disagreeing with them. Will there be a turnover at 343 because of how things with Halo 4 appear to be going? That was the question originally asked, and it is a very valid question. But that question opens up a whole slew of other questions, such as "Is Microsoft happy with how Halo 4 has turned out?" Personally, 343 needs to rethink their approach. While I personally like Halo 4, the player population problem is an obvious sign that many, many, many others do not. If I were in charge, I'd personally wait and see how 343 themselves handled this (which should be ongoing right now), and what their approach to Halo 5 will be. If I didn't think it was a good solution, yes, heads would be rolling.

I read this title and my face went something like this Why would this topic even be brought up? I can understand the "Batman vs Spiderman (or Superman, or any other comic book super hero)", but really? Batman vs Bella Swan? A better question would have been Superman vs Bella Swan, at least Superman has inhuman strength as well, and he would probably win that fight simply because he can match Bella on every power, and then has more. Superman is just OP... :/ While Batman is definitely a very cool super hero with a great mind and all kinds of sweet gadgets to use, he would simply be no match for the vampire version of Bella.

What you've brought up has been brought up countless times before, from countless different pepople. While I'm not "competitive" by all standards, I understand the need for a competitive playlist that is more true to the classic style of Halo. I appreciate that you've made this post with a reasonable request, rather than a giant rant like has been common recently, and for that I'm grateful. With all of that being said, while I agree with your points, and if you go back to some of my posts prior to Halo 4's release, I've advocated the same exact playlist layout, I don't believe 343 will accomodate it. There is going to be a competitive skil rank coming out shortly, but unfortunately it will only be visible on Waypoint as far as I know (if they've changed this, please somebody inform me). Perhaps with time, and if people come back and make enough reasonable requests, they will find a way to implement this into the actual game itself as well (at least, that is my hope), but again, only time will tell. As far as bloom and recoil go, I barely even notice it anymore, it is much better than what was originally implemented in Reach, so I see no real need to remove it, but that is just my personal opinion. Invisibility, in the ranked playlists, I can agree with completely. Leave it as is for the social side, though.

No offense, but this has been the way of games since DLC was first introduced. Pay $60 for a game, then release a ton of DLC that you make the consumer pay for if they want a new experience. Let's look at some examples. While Halo 3 isn't the best example, since eventually I think all of the map packs became free, if you wanted to play them right off the bat, you had to pay for it. Halo: Reach, you got the maps that came with the game, paying $60 for the game itself if bought new. Then, if you bought both map packs, it was 800 MSP each, for two additional maps and 1 firefight map. And this is only examples with Halo itself. The list can expand to pretty much every game on the 360. Horse Armor, anyone? While I appreciate you feeling ripped off, we as consumers have encouraged this kind of system, because we purchase the new stuff anyway. :/ But on the same hand, somebody had to work (and get paid, I might add) to produce said new content, so isn't it fair that the company, who is paying their employee's to create this content, get reimbursed for their time (and money) spent?

Way to go RedStar, totally deserving of the title, and I always look forward to reading your posts.

By giving out a Halo: Reach helmet? Anyway, good on Bungie.

While I can understand your frustration at this, the game did exactly what it was programmed to do. Rather than looking at achievements, or even the game itself to see that every level has been completed, the game was programmed to look at the commendation progress in order for unlocks to happen. And the only way to have commendations marked as being completed is to play the game online. Maybe sometime in the future, 343 will adjust this. Trust me, you are not alone in this issue, a lot of people have complained about this very same thing. Unfortunately, this website is not affiliated with 343 in any way. We're just a fan run community forum. Some 343 employees may stop by and check things out every once in a while, but to be honest, with the massive amounts of threads, chances are once one gets buried, they don't dig it up. This doesn't help you much, I know, but you may have a better shot at having 343 see this if you go to the actual forums for Halo 4, over at Waypoint (halo.xbox.com).

Wow, thanks for the shout out. Totally wasn't expecting to come back from Christmas vacation and see this. You'll always be BiPolarWolf to me, though.

I hope you two aren't looking for a dev on this site, as this isn't the official forum for 343 or Halo, this is just a fan run community forum. You're more likely to get a dev response over at the Waypoint forums, however even there it seems to be a rare occurance. As for the OP, I very rarely ever use explosives, I don't find it helps all that much, personally. I really like Dexterity, and use that as my main choice for pretty much all of my loadouts.

HALO II had the best campiagn! over-all.
fzdw11 replied to PublicAlliance's topic in Halo 2 + Anniversary
So, since Halo Reach sold 1.2 Million copies of the game by Bungie's last count, that must be a good game too then, right? Okay, I'm revising my numbers, since I did another search. Reach sold 3.3M units in the first month of it being released. -

Any mention of Halo 2 and you're here in a flash, aren't you? While I don't knock Halo 2 for what it did in online matchmaking and what it did for XBox Live, I personally feel the campaign was lackluster. It was good, but I wouldn't call it the best campaign. Like Wombat said, the game felt rushed and incomplete to me. -
While technically speaking, that would be correct based on the books, the game clearly labels them as Spartan III's....

Yes, for everyone.

Well, if you haven't gotten a code, know that Dec 15th-ish is roughly the time frame for when the other specs will unlock.

OP was talking specifically about, on this site, why are people not using the Halo 4 forum more than just the regular General Discussion forum. At least, that's where I think he was trying to go.

Vegeta, prior to the androids. Liked him more when he was evil.

This right here just irritates me. No offense, Jan, but 343 didn't buy Halo. 343 was given Halo by Microsoft, when Bungie didn't sign another contract to contiue creating the games. Microsoft wanted more Halo, Bungie wanted to work on other projects. So Microsoft turned to their in house developer, 343, to produce more Halo games.

1) Erosion, Impact and Ravine don't appear because these are the forge maps. They stated clearly prior to the games release that forge maps were not going to be incorporated into matchmaking prior to the DLC being released. 2) Griffball isn't there because the map that was used to create the court is on a forge map, and won't be implemented until after we start seeing other forge maps released into the game for play.

:/ Yes, it does include the map pass, it was the same code that you used to unlock the other 6 specs. If you purchased the map pass as well, I don't know what to say...

343 - as a fan, please read - did you forget?

Oh I see what you did there. Well played, sir, well played. -
Those who purchased the LE are getting the map packs, though I wouldn't call it "for free" - - think of it this way. We just purchased them upfront, rather than as they come out.

You weren't, but I may have been. But besides that, because of it's location on Google is why so many people come here thinking that it's the actual site, Adam. A lot of them are trying to get in contact with 343 about certain aspects of the game, and while what you said may be true, we have no way of directly knowing. If I were a developer, I'd surely check out other sites, but I wouldn't make myself known on them. Could you imagine the uproar that would cause if, for example, Frankie came on here and announced himself?
