  1. How can the DMR not be better than the BR? Designated Marksman Rifle Pinpoint accuracy Literally no-recoil Incredible range Faster kill-time Battle Rifle Recoil Spread Limited range Slower kill-time I would stand by my own personal opinion and say that the DMR definitely deserves to be at least second glanced at by 343i before the next title update. -Inversion
  2. I thought that in previous Halos they had gotten it right with the connection system. You could select search for normal/fastest/best connection, I remember other options being there too, but I can't remember them currently. Whenever I selected "Best connection", I would never find a game with noticeable lag (although it may not be LAN perfect, for online play it was very substantial). This is why I was very surprised to see these options get removed from online play. -Inversion
  3. So, I remember Mr.Biggles was very looked up to and a praised member on the forums about a year ago. I see that he has now been banned, can anybody shed some insight on that topic?

Banned for breaking rules and being an immature member. That's all that needs to be said.

Unless you were there, it's merely a second hand, or third hand, source of information, which means that it may be wrong. So in this case, no, it isn't. :P

  4. Just proves my various points on how 343i actually listens to their community. All this nonsense saying how they are brick walls and blockhead corporations, they have started taking the rights steps with the community and this is a great way to start that off. Great Job! -Inversion
  5. Taking into consideration how 343i has basically all their power allocated into Halo 4, you will likely see no update for Halo: Reach in its current lifespan on the Xbox 360. Although, they may come back and introduce an achievement playlist like Bungie did with Halo 3 (adding 7 on 7th even though it was not the 7th day of the 7th month). -Inversion
  6. Captain Keyes, after reading all the Halo books and then playing through the Halo: CE campaign again, I was so sad when he died I don't know how they'd do it, but I wish they could. -Inversion
  7. I'm more into the old classic rock, CCR, Jimi, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, etc... Glad to see all of the different varieties of music people like to listen to while playing together. -Inversion
  8. On a close quarters map, I would definitely choose the shotgun as ordinance. I think that it destroys the inconsistency of the scatter-shot at close range, yet I find that it seems like it's missing something from Halo: Reach. -Inversion
  9. I'd love the Halo 3 multi-team to make a return to Halo 4. A bunch of teams with two players on each team with random objective/slayer game types to play. Also, a head to head playlist like they had in Halo 2 would be interesting. Smaller maps and no radar, one on one, it would be interesting to see on Halo 4 as on Halo 2 it was very poor with all the glitching/modding/hacking. Multi-team was one of my favourite playlists on Halo 3. -Inversion
  10. This has always been a problem with Halo, not knowing whether a betrayal was purposeful or accidental. They could add some sort of a forgive/punish system, say I betray you completely by accident and you can tell that it was an accident, then you would click forgive and nothing would happen. If you saw that it was intentional, then you could click punish, and if I accumulated 3 punishes in a game, I would get kicked on the third punish. I realize that Halo already has a system like this, press "x" to boot and "b" to dismiss, but like you said OP, it can be very random at times. -Inversion
  11. Hey Spurge, the perfection medal is not in Halo 4. Although, if you do finish a game with 15 kills and 0 deaths (Slayer Gametype) then you will progress a little bit towards your perfection commendation. -Inversion
  12. I'd like to share my opinion on this. I don't think that there are many things wrong with the maps themselves. I think that some of the spawning on certain maps are unfair, but besides that, my only complaint are that there not enough 4v4 small maps. This is why I love the community forge playlist, small symmetrical maps. (My opinion on small maps may be a little biased due to my love for competitive maps and fast pace game play) -Inversion
  13. I really, really enjoyed CTF on Halo 3 and 2. Some games that I played came so very close and were so very intense that they literally had my whole team screaming with excitement/frustration. I think that in the new competitive playlist being released they could tweak CTF to how it was before, 4 players, flag drop etc... (Keep in mind, this would just be an altered version for the new competitive playlist coming soon) Just my personal opinion -Inversion
  14. I know that a competitive playlist, team doubles and team snipers will all soon be arriving to Halo 4 in the upcoming weeks. I'm not sure in what order that will be, but Billy Mays sounds about right. I'm pretty sure they removed team snipers to improve it, not sure how, maybe adjusting sniper auto-aim, radar tweaking, etc... I think that grifball was released before snipers because of the fact that snipers was released before and a high part of the community wanted grifball on Halo 4. With the addition of sprint and ball throwing, it got more intricate and interested more people. I personally can't wait for snipers, and hope it's released soon! -Inversion
  15. OP, that's happened to me many times for some reason. The weird thing is, is that I never see anybody else like that and I only see myself like that when I'm in custom games. (It would be cool if they did have a pose like that though) -Inversion
  16. Hello everybody, There has been one question lurking on my mind ever since I first encountered elites on Halo 4. I have had the campaign completed for quite a while now, yet browsing online, I have never found the answer to my question. Why have the Elites broken their "truce" with UNSC forces, humans in general? Help clear this up for me, as I have no clue why my best friends are trying to massacre me? Thanks, -Inversion
  17. I agree with Sweaty in his posts, however I would just like to voice my frustration. I'm doing great, 12-0 and I've just earned my ordinance, I'm aiming downrange and lining up the headshot, as i'm -- POW, killed by a person crouching in a corner with a secondary weapon. I wouldn't exactly call it "OMFG!!1!1 itzz soooo Opp!!!1", but I would like to point out that yes, at times getting killed by a secondary without even putting up a fight can be ridiculous. -Inversion
  18. Hey Fatal and welcome to the forums (even though I am not very "experienced" on them myself). I would kindly redirect you to this thread which explains the current situation with the competitive playlist on Halo 4. -Inversion
  19. Have any of you that have this issue tried to install both discs onto your hard drives? It may be a problem with the CD itself so if somebody gives that a try and lets others know if it works or not? I know that a long time ago my Halo: Reach CD got pretty scratched up, to solve the problem I just got my friends copy, installed it onto my hard drive and played it off of my copy. Good Luck -Inversion
  20. YES 343i. Finally, probably the smartest move you have made with Halo 4, an ultimate next step to improving the game would be implementing a visible trueskill system. Anyways, I love how they actually hear the community and aren't "corporate blockheads/walls" like other people may say they are. They even went to the extent of watching AGL to find out what works and what's better. Great job! -Inversion
  21. It just makes me giddy that people are still interested in competitive play for Halo. Good job for learning so quickly and taking the time to get better. -Inversion
  22. With the addition of sprint and the incredibly fast kill times, Halo 4 is the fastest (unquestionably) since any other previous title. I don't quite know if I like the increase in pace, dieing too fast for my liking I think. -Inversion
  23. I see how it would be a very interesting idea for a game that I would highly look into (in theory). In actuality, I don't think that it is very plausible for the Halo series to just shift from an FPS to an MMORPG. Who knows? -Inversion
  24. So I take it that you want advice on how to play non-competitive large maps? Okay, I'll try my best to help you with that. #1. Utilize the vehicles presented on the map. Whether that be getting a running riot with the mantis, or simply using a mongoose to secure a power weapon faster than others, it is for the best. #2. Playstyle/ Loadout - Primary. I would highly recommend the DMR as your primary weapon, it kills the fastest with the highest consistency and has a very long range. This will enable you to play as laid back as you can (if you want a high score this is crucial) and not be very aggresive. Push for the best point on the map, and hole it down. #3. Time and control all of the power weapons that are presented to you. It is vital that you aquire valuable weapons (sniper, rockets, laser, etc..) to help you progress to your next ordinance. These are just some of the ideas that I could think of, off of the top of my head. Anyways, good luck and follow these guidelines, I hope you see an improvement in your gameplay. -Inversion
  25. As of right now, sadly, no. Halo 4 matchmaking is for casuals and I can't see one bit of the competitive aspect in the war games section of this game. However, in custom games and LAN play, Halo 4 has the potential to be a very competitive game. Take AGL this last weekend, it was very exciting to watch and shaped up to be a very viewed tournament. Also, with the addition of a new competitive playlist (might be named team hardcore like Halo 2) I would agree with everybody above me, it has potential to become a very solid competitve game. If anybody wants to see progression or get updated about the new competitive playlist, click here. -Inversion
