  1. I think it would be terrible in ranked, for these reasons: 1) Joining a game when it's just about to finish (even if you get a win, its still boring) 2) Joining a game where your team-mates are getting smashed in the rear. 3) Having to beat 5+ players to get a win in a ranked game would suck ( assuming the playlist is a 4v4 ) 4) Your Win/lose ratio would be meaningless.
  2. Please don't tell me what I "Should" want, its your opinion and as such is not a fact.
  3. Yeah I love that they are ignoring the fact that halo 4 should be a sequel to halo 3 and not halo reach, by including AA's and the DMR (not mentioned in halo:CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 or ODST) I also love that you'll be able to earn better AA's, weapons and mods, so If I play all day I'll be better than other people that have lives. Just like Call of Duty. I also love that, with the inclusion of weapon drop pods if I'm losing I'll just be able to pick up a power weapon from a drop pod and gain map control, because I earned it. I feel they are doing a great job of making halo 4 a balanced game.
  4. Why make the game unbalanced at all? Players should have the option to change their armour but only for aesthetic purposes.
  5. Weapon camping is ineffective anyway, people who just sit and wait for a power weapon to respawn are useless to their team (not assisting their team mates ETC...) and may get killed whilst waiting. Smart players pick up the power weapon at the start of the game, look at the timer, minus 3 minutes ( or however long it takes for the power weapon to respawn) and then return just as the power weapon respawns, so effectively there isn't any camping. Anyway memorizing or remembering where weapons spawn is just something that automatically happens after you play on a map a few times... it doesn't take a skilled player to know where weapons spawn or at what time, just someone with a functional brain.
  6. Weapons featured in Halo 4 AR, DMR, BR I hope the DMR isn't more powerful than the BR, and if the DMR is returning then why wasn't it in the other Halo's? or atleast mentioned? ASSAULT CARBINE ? COVENANT CARBINE SHOTGUN ROCKET LAUNCHER SNIPER MAGNUM & PLASMA PISTOL Weapon Camping No Longer! Weapons will spawn by landing randomly throughout the map, along with drop pods If they have to do this for whatever reason I hope its just in social gametypes and not ranked, replacing skill (knowing the spawn location and timings) with luck is not balanced or fair for competitive gameplay. Respawn in...0 seconds! After dieing, tap "X" twice to respawn, back in the gameMeans a player that was just killed will be able to kill the person that killed him instantly on small maps, IMO the killer should have time for their shields to regenerate, reload and relocate. Also it makes exterminations impossible. No more excuses! Players can now join in-progress games Please no! If I'm on the winning team and the enemy team starts quitting and then a really good player joins their team and I loose because of it I will feel cheated out of a win. I shouldn't have to effectively beat two teams to get one win. Gamemode Details! Distraction and Revenge medals will be fetaured "Regicide" = New Gamemode "Regicide" - Every player that the king kills raises his bounty; other players have to kill the king to claim the reward. I hope this is social Spartan Ops will span several months, to keep players returning to Halo 4 Like arena divisions in reach? Armor Abilities: Details Hologram, Jet-pack, and Active-Camo will be making a return? I'll sell my xbox if these are in Ranked Sprint will return, but will be a spawn-with ability I would have prefered this to be a pick up but its ok. New Armor Ability called Forerunner Vision = X-ray Please no! Multiplayer: Details. Multi-player ties directly to campaign Reds & Blues are training You will progress through levels, gameplay can be changed by upgrading your character Just seems like more unbalance to me. You'll earn spartan points, which can be used to buy loadouts. *Sigh* You'll eventually earn weapons, armor abilities, and modifications.Great so you can win by playing non stop and "earning" weapons, AA's and mods, rather than player skill.... awesome!
  7. No offence, but I didn't get to T.S and T.D 50 but trying to kill people when my shields were down... I'd only ever try and kill someone when my shields were down if my opponent had no shield and I was confident that I would win. Otherwise its just suicide.
  8. Yeah guess we will just have to wait for more information, I feel it would benefit 343 if they released an open beta if they plan on making big changes like custom loadouts so they can see if it works with the community, they could be taking a big risk otherwise.
  9. Yup, I think 343 could get away with that, and it seems like a sensible solution to the issue regarding balance in the game There was talk about custom loudouts in another thread, if that happens and the player can choose between the BR and DMR (and maybe some other weapons) then people would just choose the DMR if its the most dominant weapon, leaving the people that prefer to use the BR at a disadvantage... anyway your theory would solve that aswell.
  10. Yeah agreed, 343 would have to explain why the DMR returns in H4 when it wasn't present in CE,H2 or H3.... As it stands at the moment the BR is an evolution of the DMR. They simply cannot just out right ignore the chronological order just to please everyone, well they could it would just annoy people that care about the story line. Maybe in the H4 campaign MC finds the DMR in some kind of crashed space station or frigate ? bit of a coincidence though right.
  11. I'm not sure trying to please everyone is the right choice. The DMR is effective at medium to long range, The Assault rifle (and other weapons) are effective at close range, the DMR seems more powerful than the BR so where would the BR fit into the game? The only way I can see it working is if either you have game-types that only feature either the BR or DMR or... The BR is able to kill an opponent quicker than the DMR at medium range, but the DMR is more accurate at long range. Although the problem with the DMR's super long range is that people use it as a sniper and pick player's off across the map, which IMO should only be possible with a sniper rifle.
  12. It shouldn't make a difference to the way you play, if your No shield in either game you stand the best chance of surviving by hiding/running/being evasive. If your no shield and still try and kill an opponent maybe you deserve to die as you made a tactical error.
  13. It looks to me like the Pistol/grenade launcher weapon from the H4 trailer. Could be wrong though.
  14. I agree with fzdw11 You could also argue that surviving with "no shields" requires more skill than simply running to a health pack and pressing "X" Of course there are moments when you simply cannot survive if your no shield in Reach or H2/H3 but often if your evasive enough you can regain your shields and either run or kill your opponent.
  15. In H2/H3 you still have to take your opponents shield down before killing them, Have you never heard of "No shield" it means a player has no shield and is one shot... Anyway it wouldn't make any sense for Reach's health system to be in H4 as the shield system thats in h2/h3 is an evolution of the original health system.
  16. My favourite maps were Hang em high from CE, Turf from Halo 2, The pit, narrows and guardian from Halo 3... so any re-make of those maps would be cool imo.
  17. I hope 343 read these threads, some really great idea's here. Perhaps the ranking system could be points based (the player doesn't actually see the points) Say you get the following: 50 points in Slayer per kill 15 points in Slayer per assist Perhaps minus points for deaths? 60 points in objective for protecting your team-mate(s) with objective 30 points for just killing an enemy in an objective game type 15 for an assits 100 for a Flag score (Giving points for picking up the flag may not work as you could just keep picking it up and dropping it or flag running) Maybe 2 points a second for KoTH matches (being in the hill), Same for oddball. You could say it'll take 1000 points to rank up between level 1-10 and 2000 points between 10-20 ETC... You'd have to start off at a base level of say 1000 points and loose points if you go negative or don't help your team with the objective otherwise you'd never derank if you did bad. And so there is incentive to win the game you may get 500 points per win, and loose 500 points if you loose.
  18. Yeah I like the idea of your personal performance playing a role in your ranking, The trouble I see with the objective idea is people betraying you for more ball time or hill time, or atleast weakening you so the enemy kills you, Team-mates don't always play nice. Plus its just as important to protect your team-mate who has the objective Yeah I also like the ban for quitting, but 10 minutes isn't nearly enough, maybe an hour for quitting 5 games.
  19. Trouble is people can loose skill, I know I used to be much better at H3 than I am now (used to play it everyday), also people can get carried to higher levels Its hard to find a balanced boot system that is strict enough to boot people when they betray too often, but fair enough that people who accidentally betray don't get booted. I personally think if someone betrays twice they should be booted, I personally rarely betray I may get one betrayal in the odd game.... The only trouble with this is situations where you may accidentally betray two team-mates at once with say a rocket or laser. Derankers is another story, so long as quitting a game means you derank it'll always happen. Maybe there needs to be some alternative punishment to quitting.
  20. I agree, dedicated servers are the way forward. It would stop host booting, blood shots ETC...
  21. Deranking people for betrayals is perfect for people looking to derank (and there are plenty of them)... its not the solution.
