I hated the ranking system in Halo 3, usually maintained a 4x, and it was just so obnoxious, because losing one match dropped your rank so much, yet winning 4 or 5 did absolutely nothing. Maybe an exp based system, where wins would get you +3 or +30 exp, and losses would make you lose 1 or 10, so that winning would benefit you more than losing would cripple you.
