  1. Holy crap, where'd you hear about that? That actually makes allot of sense since it feels like Scarabs really got short handed in the Reach campaign.
  2. That excludes me, as I am not helpfull. Welcome to the forums!
  3. The only thing I actively dislike is the design of the Prometheans...but I might get used to that come launch OR they're might be cooler lookin ones who appear elsewhere in the campaign. Other than that, no complaints.
  4. Maaaaaaan, the OP, as nearly as I could tell, made an account specifically to whine. In two days he has 3 posts. And I think, under all that sarcasm, I made a valid point. And I wasn't being condescending...only sarcastic. Really, Really sarcastic. And sarcasm is practically the air I breath.
  5. I'd be fine with the current arsenal if they simply made the vehicles tougher. Its amazing how Bungie managed to make the vehicles in Reach OP in certain situations (Banshee bomb's with manuevering) and yet oh so weak (Banshee getting DMR'd). Vehicles should be like they were in Halo 3. Other than that, I want the chopper back. I also feel like no one has really got down a good UNSC air vehicle...the hornet and the Falcon are both cool but they don't quite make it. If I were 343 I'd make the Falcon a two seater gunship which has a light auto cannon on one side, kinda like an AC-130. Then maybe just keep the other seat a passenger seat. Also hoping that sometime in the future we get a full on Scarab playable in multiplayer, but that will prob have to be next gen.
  6. Was hoping to see Peter Jackson and Neil Blomkamps version...would probably have been something. Even still, Video game movies usually suck, and making a good Halo one would be particularly difficult since the protaginist is completely faceless. So you'd either have to go with another story or try to build one around MC, which would be difficult. Making one about the Fall of Reach would be best. I'd like to see a movie which really captured the overwhelming power of the Covenant or the fear of fighting them. I mean, I would just make it a war movie...try to stay away from your typical "Okay, protaganists go here and there trying to pick up or destroy objects which destroy the world". Don't make it a typical sci fi movie about people saving the world, make it about a squad. Just have a strong cast of entertaining character actors to play a team of Spartans, have them fighting with the normal troops against the covenant assualt, keep the perspective loose so we can see the war from multiple angles, kinda like in a Tom Clancy techno-thriller, and wrap it up with some nice stuff about the Spartans helping the Pillar of Autumn escape. Put allot of emphasis on fear, having the Covenant being scary, glassing and killing civies, and have allot of emphasis on spectacle. Make sure to have lots of stuff with the Spartans using high tech equipment and doing crazy things, kinda like how Active valor (if any of you saw that) puts the emphasis on all the crazy sheet spec ops guys do. Make sure to have big beatifull sky/space scapes absolutely full of hundreds and hundreds of Covie and UNSC ships going at it. Basically, make it the good story that Halo Reach SHOULD have been and put it in movie form.
  7. Why do you guys even bother to respond to these people? Just let them know that this isn't even a forum which 343 views and you have made them feel much dumbr than you possibly could by beating them in honest debate. Its not as if these guys post actual cogent arguments (generally).
  8. I thought it tried too hard to be like Alien, and it suffered from the same problems; people sticking their faces where they don't belong, that kinda thing. Basically, haunted house syndrom but in Space. It was also trying to way too clever...So the Aliens have left messages for us to go find the ultra remote weapon station where they stockpile the stuff to destroy us? Makes sense...
  9. @Roun Cole Agree with that, most definitely. They just seem too colorfull, not threatening or scary enough, too weird. I think allot of guys who worked on ***anese games have actually been pulled into 343 which kinda explains this. Maybe my prob is that White and Orange just doesn't seem very scary to me. And I'm surprised that 343 hasn't really done too good on these, considering the rest of their art direction has been really top notch...but the Prometheans just look off.
  10. I do love the fact that no one from 343 is ever going to read this.

  12. All hell is gonna break loose.
  13. If Grunts were really supposed to be arthropods of some weird sort, they sure never seemed like it. They are too humanoid for that.
  14. Oh god, they changed the appearance to suit game design? As opposed to the Science fiction Halo Canon which makes so much sense, as we all know! Espiecally the gas powered guns even though its 500 years in the future, OR the open gunner seats on Warthogs, or flipping tanks, or the Armor Abilities which all just happened to be wiped out on Reach! OMG, could you imagine if Bungie had put those things in just for the sake of game design, and not for the sake of them making sense? I mean, CAN YOU IMAGINE? If Bungie had ever done anything like that, I would refuse to buy their games. I would have rioted...protested...declared war on a small European country, like China, for instance. Okay, I just don't know what I'd do, but it would be bad, and when I did it, I would be foaming at the mouth rabid. And I'm dead cereal about this. So cereal. I'm talking Kellogs frosted flakes cereal. Without any milk.
  15. I don't care for the visual design, but they look like they'll be fun to fight. I just hate how top heavy the promethean knights look...and the watchers and the crwlers and the knights don't look stylistically similiar enough for me...they don't seem like part of the same force.
  16. To that I say, oh pishaw, wild immature accusations are practically a duty of my station. Also, with regards to Lenin...are you one of these funny types who thinks things would have been fine and dandy if only Lenin had remained in power and Stalin hadn't took over? I don't want to hijack the thread but I just had to ask. Might be a good subject for a PM. Interesting how my sarcasm turns into a serious question.
  17. Promethean vision is for people who couldn't handle using the motion tracker...that said, it seems just a tad OP, I was hoping it wouldn't be a constant effect but rather a pulse which only very briefly illuminates people.
  18. This is a bit like refusing to even accept the possibility that Giant Squids might exist beacuse, thanks to bad luck, the only things you've heard about the Ocean was Leviathans and Mermaids...or refusing to even consider the possibility that God exists beacuse you were raised by fundamentalist idiots.
  19. Haha, that made me think, there's an interesting thing called parrellel evolution where two populations which evolve in completely different habitates evolve similarly to be pretty much like eachother. There's these plants in India which are exactly like Cactus but arent Cactus, at least they are slightly different genetically and evolved from seperate things completely independant of eachother...its weird. I always thought, it there was intelligent life of our own level, it will almost certainly be twolegged with a similiar anatomy simply beacuse thats the most effective model...this is assuming life has to emerge on planets like our own...if not, you could have all sorts of wacky, exotic things evolving on planets very different from our own. Also, don't mean to be a ****, but I think even if they were Human's they would still be aliens
  20. You cannot have totalitarianism without the iron fist mate, Gorbachev learned that the hard way . You would make a horrible dictator, as in, you'd fail at it haha! Now, with regards to your office, is it ceremonial or do you have any actual authority vested in you by we, the people? (Of the forum). I tuned out of the forums at the end of that whole process, though I remember I refused to vote for you espiecally beacuse of yours suspected ties to known members of the Nazi party.
  21. Its worth pointing out that the Universes's sheer size cannot really be considered an argument for their being life elsewhere until we know for sure that Life is the kind of thing which could emerge elsewhere automatically. What I mean to say is, the emergence of life, howevor it happened, was not a simple chemical reaction. I think that much can be deduced from simple common sense. OTHER than that fact, though, little else is known, and I doubt anyone's going to be able to find out more about life spontaneously being created (I think they call it abiogenesis?). No one has any idea how inanimate matter without genetic material could have made that jump to animate matter with genetic material and when you think about it, that jump from, essentially, a piece of dust to a bacteria is mindboggling. For someone of the religious persuasion I might say miraculous. Point is, life may not neccasarily be something that results automatically when the right conditions come togethor and thus, its not neccasarily true that life could just crop up anywhere in the Universe when certain prerequisites were met. It may well be that the entire Universe was seeded with DNA at creation, or that the creation of life itself at a later date in the history of the Universe was an act of God. This isn't to say that Life is not a result of conditions coming togethor, I could believe that as well, but only that we dont know. Since we don't know how life was created we can hardly say where life was created. Also, I ain't purposefully trying to inject religion into this, but you simply cannot have a complete discussion of something like this without crossing over into metaphysical/theological grounds. Bear in mind that I'm a strict evolutionist, certainly not any type of biblical literalist. I might not accept all the component parts of Darwinism, but I certainly don't belive in all that pseudo scienfitic BS you'll get from certain fundamentalist Christians. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I had to say it.
  22. Verily sir, I have seen this Mango before, and it does not amuse me.

  23. I guess it would just be really difficult to program something like that cuz Bungie has definitely thought of that before...I mean, I wished this when I first started playing infection.
  24. This is all I'm gonna say since Religious conversations are looked down on here, BUT speaking as one Christian to another, there are allot of things which obviously exist which the Bible never talks about. Food for thought, good sir. All I'm gonna say before the forum police come down on mah ass.
  25. Your argument amuses me. What is that I hear, young squire? The small ones are fighting again? How very quaint. They shall soon tire of their useless exploit but before they do, let us observe then and learn their ways, while sipping a fine wine. What's that? I shall have the white chardonnay, from the valley of San Fernando. Mmmmmmm, haha, indeed, fine sir, they are woolen slippers, thank you kindly for noticing.
