  1. Free Republican Army of Delaware would like to announce the official declaration of our nation-state after throwing off the rule of Pennsylvania and as yet unidentified political forces in Southern New Jersey. We are requesting aid in the form of Arm's shipments. Sending envoys of our government to all Alliances and states. Due to our guerilla war against Pennsylvania the Delaware Republican Armies are trained Mercanary/Guerilla fighters skilled in wilderness survival, sabatoge, convoy ambush, assasination, propoganda spreading and general terrorism. They are also well trained in hacking. Delaware Guerilla units are effective at raiding, cutting supply lines, and causing civil unrest in targeted areas. They are not effective in prolonged combat or set piece battles. In addition our infrastructure was decimated by our war of independance and our production is halved. In dire need of skilled engineers and production equipment AND Fuel. Will trade the services of our Militiamen for supplies, priority given to Industrial neccessities, and fuel, both of which we are lacking. Will also provide 500 trained men from our militia, for use as Guerilla units, as a token of our good will to any Alliance/State to any alliance which promises to protect us against aggressors. Additional Mercanary Guerillas will be provided to an alliance which gives more Goods. We are aware that the two largest alliances are full, but do not require a membership, would merely like some form of protection while we reconstitute our devastated nation-state. Current troop totals are: -10,000 Militia Men (can be deployed in adjacent states by Delaware as Guerillas OR supplied to other states/Alliances as Mercanary Guerillas with aforementioned abilities). -6 Coastal Defense Batteries ranging up and down our coast. -6 Guided Missile AA Batteries *Due to the Dover Air Force base we have been fortunate to protect a large force of Air Units.* -1 B-2 Stealth Bomber -2 B-52 Bombers -2 C-130 "Spectre" Gunships -2 C-130 "Hercules" Transport Planes (will use to transport Militia to other states/Alliances as well as deployment of Militia as Airborne Troops) -2 Thuderbolt II "Warthog" ground attack planes -Wing of 12 F-22 Raptors. Our Fuel supplies were blown up by Pennslyvania as they abandoned the area, desperately need fuel as we cannot employ Air force until fuel is aquired. Beginning construction of one Cruiser at the port of Wilmington. Will begin construction of second unit type once industry is restored. Instead of moving troops, have begun drive among citizens to exchange fuel for War Bonds. Fuel stocks will be sufficient to begin restricted Air operations in one day.
  2. Not sure if you mean the chopper or the warthog, (hence my previous response) but with regards to the Rocket Hog perhaps a two person half track based kinda-sorta on the Warthog Chassis, with the person in the back seat controlling the rockets... Though having full lock-on rockets ala the halo 3 missile pod would be way too op...perhaps having a firing mode where you switch between a volley of dumb rockets and a single guided rocket? Who knows...maybe rockets should shift kinda like charged Plasma pistol shots...
  3. Haha, I see what you did there! Classy response sir.
  4. In all likelihood the gravity hammer is going to come back, so why cant the chopper?
  5. IDK though, it was so powerfull if used correctly...you could take on everything but tanks and Spartan Lazers with it...
  6. Haha Doc, you point out whats ironic. By changing to become more like CoD at all, Halo is also changing from CoD with that whole thing we video game insiders like to call "change". So Halo's CoD-ness is probably in neutral territory right now... Besides CoD neither invented most of the things that its become known for in the FPS arena, nor is it the only game with those traits now...if Halo took almost any step to bring itself into similiar lines as other FPS's, it's inevitable that someone is going to cry "CoD"!
  7. People gotta remember that 343 have not themselves said that Elites will not be playable in custom, forge, Ops, even certain playlists in Matchmaking ala Reach...the idea of Elites being excluded completely is something which Game Informer said beacuse they didn't see Elites in the MP they played... Its looking more and more like Elites will not return to Halo 3 levels but will still occupy a substantial place...hopefully paving a way for their full return to matchmaking once it becomes canonically sound in future Halo games. *crosses fingers for that last part*
  8. I think they are more ugly but in a good way...more disconcerting to fight. Its possible for something to be ugly but stylistically appealing at the same time...all about context and balance of the different elements. I don't care too much for the bare armed Elites but the Red elite and Grunt look real good to me.
  9. Halo is becoming more like COD, that is the simple truth. But it is not going to be a carbon copy.
  10. Chopper! Theres not a chance in hell that they arent bringing back the old classics (Scorpion!). And Its already confirmed they are bringing back the Banshee (my baby!). The only vehicle which they might not (in fact probably will not seeing as how its non canonical) bring back is the Chopper. BUT I LUV TEH CHOPPER! Interesting idea...if they were going to do so you'd expet it to look and function like the AA wolverine from Hwars though.
  11. Yet another chance for someone to say "STFU and adapt!" and for all these less-traditionalist minded Halo players to say "finally, someone gets it!" (even though they've gotten it already and have been getting it since before Reach came out). IDK I'm so tired of this endless "OMG TEHY ARE CHANGIGD DI HALO" and the response "STFU AND ADAPT!" Neither argument is valid. Don't spend time saying "they are changing they gameplay we know and love therefore the change is bad!" or "just shut up and accept the change." Why? Beacuse change can be either good or bad. It is completely a matter of the individual change. The reality is that new things that are introduced don't have to be bad, and new things by 343 don't automatically have to be good. This thread is useless and the OP is making a stupid redundant arugment (redundant beacuse its already been said) beacuse if people really followed his advice than the people at Bungie and 343 could expect not to get any backlash on any change that was made. They could make absolutely horrible changes from the community and expect not a peep out of us. Furthermore, the OP probably would not follow his own logic if the changes being made were bad enough to his particular tastes. More likely the changes which 343 is making do not bother him as much as they do others, so he is better off arguing why other people are wrong on those individual issues than generalizing as he is here. This thread is about as useless as many "OMG DONT TURN HALO INTO COD!" on the other side of this issue. We should not simply have "Faith" in 343 and trust them...nor should we criticize everything they do. We should hold their feet to the fire and try to objectively analyze everything they do and consider those individual elements to see if they are good or bad. We can't know how features play until we have the game, but when we do play the game, some of those changes can be bad. Beacuse we are Halo fans' we should neither accept blindly every change that is made, nor refuse to buy the game beacuse we can't stand the aforementioned change. The endless argument between these "ADAPT!" types (of which the OP is definitely one as of posting this thread) and the "OMG STOP CHANGE!" is retarded and I'm kinda surprised that people keep standing up and saying "we agree with you!". This is just stupid.
  12. @ Zl Malificient And just when it was getting good! Well not really...your basic assumption is you think a subjective argument cannot also be an objective argument...as if me saying 2 + 2 equals 4 is not both my subjective opinion and a statement of objective fact. Subjective and Objective arent mutually exclusive and thats where your arguments break down. That and, you seem to think that what we think matter and what actually does matter are the same thing. Protecting Children actually does matter, no matter what my opinion of it is. The notion of "what is important" is something independant of what actually is important. Also funny is the fact that you are pointing out that saying someone is objectively wrong on a subjective matter is silly when you were just saying you needed to forgive the OP for his lack of objectivity. If what he is talking about is simply subjective and I have no reason to be applying objective logic to it, why say he needs "objectivity" at all? Was I wrong to criticize him/her for it? But since you "bugged" out, I will write no more. Ain't sure what your voluntary pull out means visa-vi who had the best points but hopefully we wont have to hear anything more about how every element of Halo which we value or don't value is completely subjective from now on.
  13. http://www.bungie.net/Forums/posts.aspx?postID=66160253 Pretty much says it all.
  14. Forerunner levels > Humanl levels, ergo I choose Wraparound.
  15. Same here bro...well not recently since one of my key HWars mates is in Australia until June but yeah...14 Star Cobra...killing Scarabs in two shots. Oh hell yeah!
  16. When asked the people at 343 keep the option of a Halo Wars 2 on the table. The first HWars was not a mega hit but it was a success.
  17. This is Microsoft were talking here...they have armies...hell its not as if 343 would have to work on it...just let 343 ride roughshod over Robot entertainment seeing as how Robot is mostly Ensemble employees. With regards to your Marine idea, I'd would like to see a ODST 2 which interweaves a story about ODST's and Elite Special forces.
  18. Halo Wars 2 needs two things; a proper add campaign and a more beefed up storyline...something a bit less cartoony and more challenging. In terms of depth to the strategy, I think Ensemble nailed the basic gameplay, but playing as the same UNSC or Covie leaders does get bland. I would not vote for a full on Flood faction or Forerunner faction though. The Flood should be kept in an infection style playlist where the Flood player infects the other players stuff and IDK how the Forerunner would play into it...naturally, there might be full canonical room for a faction based on the antagonist in Halo 4. All that said, if there is a Halo Wars 2, Robot (and 343) should try to implement a credit based customization system, not unlike what you now have in FPS's. There are so many units, species, vehicles, powers, etc. which get excluded from Halo simply beacuse their tactical niches are already occupied. Halo Wars 2 should implement a system whereby players can spend credits earned to unlock increasingly specialized units and equip them to their respective production buildings...maybe offer the ability to buy leader powers, cosmetic changes... I was thinking it would be really cool if you could customize 3 Spartan soldiers or 3 elite zealots with a set of armor (not full on customization just a whole set), a upgrade path and a base weapon and special ability. Other than that, maybe including a more dedicated implementation of phantom and pelican dropships and maybe a simple system to air drop basic fortifications unto the map. Maybe even the ability to construct Covenant or UNSC AA guns which prevent enemy players from using leader powers in a radius around them? Food for thought.
  19. There needs to be a sequel to Hwars...but it should stay on the console. Halo Wars success was its simplicity and Rock Paper scissors gameplay. There is a room for a bit deeper stuff, sure, I'd like to see a credit system where you buy units and customize your army BUT Halo Wars would not be Halo Wars if they put it on PC and tried to Starcraft-ify it. Starcraft is Starcraft, Halo Wars is Halo Wars. Having to micromanage a single squad of grunts so that they can throw plasma grenades exactly when I want ala Starcraft sounds good on paper but would not work on consoles...if you made a PC version, you would either make it much more deep and complicated (and generate a disparity between it and the console version) or dumb it down to the level of the console version in which case PC palyers would ***** about it. 343 should make Halo Wars 2 for the console, just focus on the console, and put a snazzy customization system in...and maybe try to focus harder on the campaign (I feel that is Halo Wars only real flaw). Other than that, leave the fundamentals the same.
  20. The Chopper was genius...kicks the crap out of the Revenant. And I liked the Revanant...but the Chopper is genius. Second funnest Halo vehicle ever, right in back of the Banshee. Did I mention its genius?
  21. I'm non-commital on this. Map control and weapon spawns have always been such a big part of the game...this is maybe the biggest thing thats gonna change how Halo plays.
  22. Good sound design can make a huge difference...playing BF3 after playing previous BF's and CoD...like holy sheet. So happy that they are pulling no punches on the Music and Audio. Don't know how the gameplays gonna turn out but its obvious that the guys at 343 know how to cover the bases of Halo.
