Given the number of users and $50-a-year subscription fee, it's hardly a surprise that Microsoft is pulling in a ton of cash from Xbox Live, but it looks like the service has recently crossed a significant milestone: the $1 billion mark. That's what Bloomberg estimates for the past fiscal year, at least, based on the number of paid users (about 12.5 million), and a recent statement from Microsoft's Dennis Durkin, who said that sales of downloadable content had topped subscription revenue for the first time. That translates to about $600 million from subscription revenue, and at least $600 million from other sales, for a grand total somewhere north of $1.2 billion. Can't really blame Sony for following its lead, can you? Update: Credit where credit is due -- turns out Forbes also arrived at similar numbers back during E3. It "conservatively estimates" that Microsoft raked in $625 million selling downloadable content in the past year, resulting in more than $1.25 billion in total revenue. Minecraft version 1.3 is on the way, and this update looks to be a doozy. The most sweeping change will be a merging of single-player and multiplayer modes. More specifically, single-player as everyone knows it will now be a "shell on top of multiplayer." The reason behind the change, according to Mojang, is to accommodate the upcoming modding API, which otherwise would have required modders to create multiple versions of each mod, one for single-player and one for multiplayer. The downside is that single-player games will now require a little more computing power, though Mojang is hoping to smooth things out a bit in 1.4. Other additions in 1.3 will include emeralds and emerald ore, the ability to buy items from villagers, the ability to write in books, an optional "bonus chest" that helps new players "get started quicker" and more. Minecraft 1.3 is slated to arrive August 1, with a "release candidate" available a week prior. The popular Modern Warfare 2 airport map, Terminal, will come to Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox 360 on July 17 for Elite members and July 18 for non-Elites, but free for everyone, regardless of digitized classist regulations. Earlier this week Infinity Ward's Mark Rubin outed Terminal for Modern Warfare 3, but couldn't provide a solid release date. Terminal exists outside of the Elite content drop schedule, and its PS3 and PC release dates are still to-be-decided, Rubin tweets. If you're having trouble signing onto Xbox Live, you are not alone. Microsoft is aware of the issue and is "actively investigating," according to the official Xbox Support Twitter account. The Xbox Live status page notes that users may have trouble signing into Xbox Live via Xbox.com, though we've experienced the same issue when logging in via the Xbox 360 itself. Play XBLA revealed Master Chief as one of the 40 different skins coming to Minecraft on Xbox Live Arcade. As you can see above, Master Chief isn't the only recognizable blockhead in the group. Skin Pack 1 also includes Danklef, a scientist from 'Splosion Man, and Old-School Trials Evolution Guy. Where is the "both" option? When I was at E3 I found that both guns were effective. The BR was more medium range as the DMR was more of the long range gun. The BR and DMR are almost identical but both have their flaws. But I cant choose one over the other because I love them both the same.

No... I see it being Disc One: Single Player and Disc 2: Multiplayer. Multiplayer being Forge, Theater, Matchmaking, Custom Games, Spartan Ops, etc. An entire disc for Machinimas would just be stupid.

You kind of killed Guilty Spark in Halo 3... but interesting idea I guess. But like Dan said if Cortana were to die Chief might not even want an AI to be with him.... because we all know he'll meet up with other Spartans.

Although this would be cool idea I don't think it would work. But if it had final kill-cams and it did for you in the match then I think it would be amazing!
