  1. Sure, but the problem is that I can't download without Gold, and to get Gold I need to use up a coupon (because buying a regular Gold membership isn't worth it since I can only occasionally and inconveniently get the web connection to the Xbox) - and I don't want to use that coupon unless I know in advance that I can download them.
  2. I was wondering, how much memory space do the Spartan Ops take? For some reason I can't find any info on this. I have very limited capacity on the hard drive and I don't want to waste a free Gold pass in case it turns out I can't actually fit them on my hard drive... Anyway, thanks in advance.
  3. (Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum, can't quite see where "Custom Games" go when there's a separate section for Matchmaking, Forge etc. but not for it... But anyways) I'm amongst that (surprisingly large) community who mainly play Custom Games instead of Matchmaking when playing multiplayer. Now, it's a bit surprising that ever since Reach, it seems that Custom Games have actually gotten narrower than they were before. Even though they are an extremely vital part of what makes Halo so amazing... I just noticed many threads of people talking about quite enormous grievances of missing customization options, but I like to focus on one smallish but very important detail. In a game with Random weapons, there absolutely needs to be an option to limit certain or at least certain types of weapons. I seem to remember there being some kind of way to do that in Halo 3 (either a checklist or a "no heavy / no snipers etc." type selection), but in Reach it was definitely missing and almost single-handedly destroyed the whole Random Weapons gametype. There are heavy weapons (and depending on the map, possibly also weapons like snipers) that basically break and decide games on their own. And Halo 4 includes several more weapons like that. I have not found a way to limit the weapon selection this time either (I guess it's possible that there's a odd way of achieving this - I did at least see one list with "no heavies" etc., but it was about Ordnances or so - so if anyone knows, please do tell)... We tried a couple games, and it's just wrong. As it is (with no limitations), Random a game of one-shot-kill heavy weapons instead of what it's supposed to be - skill and cunning (in that you have to make do with what you have, which makes it even more exciting). Halo isn't about running around and just blasting away. What made Halo so amazing was the strategy (and the way you could do different types of strategies with different weapon combinations - a reason why Random is so fun, 'cause you never know what you'll get), and when you're just running around shooting everywhere with heavy weapons it's more like Quake than Halo. Now, I understand that there are plans to give Halo 4 updates that really do add content instead of just bug fixes, and I can't say how important this (and (for others) several other small changes to many types of Custom Games options) would be to the experience. Basically, giving back one of the most fun gametypes Halo has had. And with not a very big tweek, either. I'm definitely not alone in this! If anyone read this, then thank you.
  4. Hi So, I've been trying to find information about the customizability of the custom games (mainly for our system link games), and I found this comment: Now, what I'm wondering is, do we actually know what is customizable? In the end the above is a rather vague statement, when you think about it For example (I mentioned this earlier, actually), for me the biggest downside in Halo: Reach really is the fact that you can't eliminate weapons from your custom games. In Reach in a random weapons mode (which is generally one of the most fun that we play (random weapons, no pick-up, infinite ammo)) the win is basically decided by who gets the most 1) fuel rod gun and 2) rocket launcher. Especially the now ridiculously overpowered fuel rod tends to break the games completely... So anyways, I seem to remember there being a lot more customizability in H3 than Reach. And so, I guess what I'm wondering is whether the "multitude of options" will once again really be comprehensive? Are there any details about the details yet? And will we be able to enjoy our Random games much more again? P.S. sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I figured that since it's not strictly about Matchmaking, it wouldn't go there...
  5. I really hope that multiplayer doesn't forget us who don't play online, but rather over System Link. We do exist! First of all, in the multiplayer maps, don't make them all for large parties. There needs to be at least a couple maps that are optimal for a smaller group, even just 4 people (that's the usual system link amount of players). And not just the symmetrical, round arena, but something interesting. And it doesn't have to be a tiny map, either. The Halo 3 map Standoff was a perfect example of an extremely entertaining map for just a few people, while still having a fairly large area. One of the biggest issues in Reach for our group was the fact that there was a lack of maps for our 4-player system link games. In Halo 3 (and all the Halos before) there was a ton of great maps, almost all of them suitable except for the massive ones. In Reach, just a couple were playable. Now, I feel that while this is the most minor issue, it is also the most important: In system link we often play custom game types, and one thing that we've played a lot over all the Halos is Random (with random weapons, infinite ammo, no weapon pickup (but that's not really the point, just background information)). Now, in that mode there are certain weapons that have basically decided the game alone. Especially the fuel rod gun in Reach was a game-breaker. What I'd hope for multiplayer game settings is that you can choose what weapons can appear on the map (or, in the case of our Random settings, for the player). Either a check-box type system, or at least a sort of "no heavy" "no snipers" "only human" etc. choices. A minor change, but a huge difference on the enjoyability of the game. Of course, optimally, if there is this new game type I'm reading about, it would be also playable through system link. I guess it might be difficult if it has a reward system of some sort, though I'd still hope it would be workable if only even as a temporary offline system. It's fun change sometimes to play Firefight, and it'd be too bad if we wouldn't have that alternative choice anymore. But as long as the multiplayer were good, it wouldn't matter so much. So, I hope you take at least my second point into consideration. (Edit: Oh, and since there's apparently going to be armor abilities again, why not the option of randomly chosen armor abilities too? (like random with each respawn)) Okay, thanks for listening
